マタイの福音書 7
1 さばいてはいけません。さばかれないためです。
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 あなたがたがさばくとおりに、あなたがたもさばかれ、あなたがたが量るとおりに、あなたがたも量られるからです。
For with what judgment ye judge, ye will be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it will be measured to you.
3 また、なぜあなたは、兄弟の目の中のちりに目をつけるが、自分の目の中の梁には気がつかないのですか。
And why dost thou look at the mote that is in thy brother's eye, and not perceive the beam in thine own eye?
4 兄弟に向かって、『あなたの目のちりを取らせてください。』などとどうして言うのですか。見なさい、自分の目には梁があるではありませんか。
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me take the mote out of thine eye; when, lo! the beam is in thine own eye?
5 偽善者たち。まず自分の目から梁を取りのけなさい。そうすれば、はっきり見えて、兄弟の目からも、ちりを取り除くことができます。
Hypocrite! first cast the beam out of thine own eye; and then wilt thou see clearly to take the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6 聖なるものを犬に与えてはいけません。また豚の前に、真珠を投げてはなりません。それを足で踏みにじり、向き直ってあなたがたを引き裂くでしょうから。
Give not that which is holy to dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine; lest they trample them under their feet, and turn upon you and rend you.
7 求めなさい。そうすれば与えられます。捜しなさい。そうすれば見つかります。たたきなさい。そうすれば開かれます。
Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and ye will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
8 だれであれ、求める者は受け、捜す者は見つけ出し、たたく者には開かれます。
For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, the door will be opened.
9 あなたがたも、自分の子がパンを下さいと言うときに、だれが石を与えるでしょう。
Or what man is there of you, who, if his son ask for bread, will give him a stone?
10 また、子が魚を下さいと言うのに、だれが蛇を与えるでしょう。
or, if he ask for a fish, will give him a serpent?
11 してみると、あなたがたは、悪い者ではあっても、自分の子どもには良い物を与えることを知っているのです。とすれば、なおのこと、天におられるあなたがたの父が、どうして、求める者たちに良いものを下さらないことがありましょう。
If ye then, though evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him!
12 それで、何事でも、自分にしてもらいたいことは、ほかの人にもそのようにしなさい。これが律法であり預言者です。
All things, then, whatever ye would that men should do to you, do ye also so to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13 狭い門からはいりなさい。滅びに至る門は大きく、その道は広いからです。そして、そこからはいって行く者が多いのです。
Enter in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction; and many are they who go in thereat.
14 いのちに至る門は小さく、その道は狭く、それを見いだす者はまれです。
For strait is the gate, and narrow the way, that leadeth to life; and few are they who find it.
15 にせ預言者たちに気をつけなさい。彼らは羊のなりをしてやって来るが、うちは貪欲な狼です。
Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
16 あなたがたは、実によって彼らを見分けることができます。ぶどうは、いばらからは取れないし、いちじくは、あざみから取れるわけがないでしょう。
Ye may know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 同様に、良い木はみな良い実を結ぶが、悪い木は悪い実を結びます。
So every good tree beareth good fruit; but a bad tree beareth bad fruit.
18 良い木が悪い実をならせることはできないし、また、悪い木が良い実をならせることもできません。
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor call a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 良い実を結ばない木は、みな切り倒されて、火に投げ込まれます。
Every tree that beareth not good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
20 こういうわけで、あなたがたは、実によって彼らを見分けることができるのです。
So then ye may know them by their fruits.
21 わたしに向かって、『主よ、主よ。』と言う者がみな天の御国にはいるのではなく、天におられるわたしの父のみこころを行なう者がはいるのです。
Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 その日には、大ぜいの者がわたしに言うでしょう。『主よ、主よ。私たちはあなたの名によって預言をし、あなたの名によって悪霊を追い出し、あなたの名によって奇蹟をたくさん行なったではありませんか。』
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in thy name, and in thy name cast out demons, and in thy name work many miracles?
23 しかし、その時、わたしは彼らにこう宣告します。『わたしはあなたがたを全然知らない。不法をなす者ども。わたしから離れて行け。』
And then will I declare to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 だから、わたしのこれらのことばを聞いてそれを行なう者はみな、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人に比べることができます。
Every one then that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock;
25 雨が降って洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけたが、それでも倒れませんでした。岩の上に建てられていたからです。
and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock.
26 また、わたしのこれらのことばを聞いてそれを行なわない者はみな、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に比べることができます。
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;
27 雨が降って洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけると、倒れてしまいました。しかもそれはひどい倒れ方でした。」
and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell; and great was its fall.
28 イエスがこれらのことばを語り終えられると、群衆はその教えに驚いた。
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the multitudes were astonished at his teaching.
29 というのは、イエスが、律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように教えられたからである。
For he taught them as having authority, and not as their scribes.
