マルコの福音書 11
1 さて、彼らがエルサレムの近くに来て、オリーブ山のふもとのベテパゲとベタニヤに近づいたとき、イエスはふたりの弟子を使いに出して、
Now when they were approaching Jerusalem, near Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives,
2 言われた。「向こうの村へ行きなさい。村にはいるとすぐ、まだだれも乗ったことのない、ろばの子が、つないであるのに気がつくでしょう。それをほどいて、引いて来なさい。
Jesus sent two of his disciples and told them. "Go to that village in front of you, and immediately on entering it you will find a colt tied, upon which no man has ever sat; untie him and bring him here.
3 もし、『なぜそんなことをするのか。』と言う人があったら、『主がお入用なのです。すぐに、またここに送り返されます。』と言いなさい。」
And if any man asks you, ‘Why are you doing that?" answer, ‘The Lord has need of him, and he will immediately send him back.’"
4 そこで、出かけて見ると、表通りにある家の戸口に、ろばの子が一匹つないであったので、それをほどいた。
So they went and found a colt tied outside a door, in the open street, and untied it.
5 すると、そこに立っていた何人かが言った。「ろばの子をほどいたりして、どうするのですか。」
And some of the bystanders began to say to them, "What are you trying to do, untying that colt?"
6 弟子たちが、イエスの言われたとおりを話すと、彼らは許してくれた。
So they answered them just as Jesus had told them, and they let them take it.
7 そこで、ろばの子をイエスのところへ引いて行って、自分たちの上着をその上に掛けた。イエスはそれに乗られた。
Then they brought the colt to Jesus, and when they had thrown cloaks upon it, Jesus seated himself on it.
8 すると、多くの人が、自分たちの上着を道に敷き、またほかの人々は、木の葉を枝ごと野原から切って来て、道に敷いた。
Then many spread their cloaks on the road, and others, soft leafy branches, which they had cut from the fields;
9 そして、前を行く者も、あとに従う者も、叫んでいた。 「ホサナ。 祝福あれ。主の御名によって来られる方に。
and those who went before him and those who came after kept shouting. "Hosanna! Blessed be He who comes in the name of the Lord!
10 祝福あれ。いま来た、われらの父ダビデの国に。 ホサナ。いと高き所に。」
Blessed be the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna, in the highest!"
11 こうして、イエスはエルサレムに着き、宮にはいられた。そして、すべてを見て回った後、時間ももうおそかったので、十二弟子といっしょにベタニヤに出て行かれた。
Then he entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple, and after he had looked around at everything, as the hour was now late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
12 翌日、彼らがベタニヤを出たとき、イエスは空腹を覚えられた。
The next day after leaving Bethany he was hungry,
13 葉の茂ったいちじくの木が遠くに見えたので、それに何かありはしないかと見に行かれたが、そこに来ると、葉のほかは何もないのに気づかれた。いちじくのなる季節ではなかったからである。
and seeing a fig tree in the distance full of leaves, he came to see if he could find anything on it, and found on it nothing but leaves (for it was not the time of figs).
So, addressing the tree, he said, "Let no man ever more eat fruit from you." And the disciples heard it. (aiōn g165)
15 それから、彼らはエルサレムに着いた。イエスは宮にはいり、宮の中で売り買いしている人々を追い出し始め、両替人の台や、鳩を売る者たちの腰掛けを倒し、
Presently they reached Jerusalem, and, after entering the Temple courts, Jesus began to drive out those who were buying and selling there, and to upset the tables of the money-changers, and the stalls of those who sold doves,
16 また宮を通り抜けて器具を運ぶことをだれにもお許しにならなかった。
and he would not allow any one to carry a vessel through the Temple courts, Then he began to teach.
17 そして、彼らに教えて言われた。「『わたしの家は、すべての民の祈りの家と呼ばれる。』と書いてあるではありませんか。それなのに、あなたがたはそれを強盗の巣にしたのです。」
"Is it not written," he said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you have made it a den of robbers."
18 祭司長、律法学者たちは聞いて、どのようにしてイエスを殺そうかと相談した。イエスを恐れたからであった。なぜなら、群衆がみなイエスの教えに驚嘆していたからである。
The chief priests and the Scribes heard this, and they began to seek means of destroying him; for they were afraid of him because all the crowd were greatly struck with his teaching.
19 夕方になると、イエスとその弟子たちは、いつも都から外に出た。
Now every evening he used to go outside the city;
20 朝早く、通りがかりに見ると、いちじくの木が根まで枯れていた。
and as they (he and his disciples) were passing along in the morning, they saw the fig tree already withered from the root.
21 ペテロは思い出して、イエスに言った。「先生。ご覧なさい。あなたののろわれたいちじくの木が枯れました。」
Then Peter remembered, and exclaimed, "Look, Rabbi, the fig tree which you cursed is withered up."
22 イエスは答えて言われた。「神を信じなさい。
"Take hold on God’s faithfulness," said Jesus to them in reply.
23 まことに、あなたがたに告げます。だれでも、この山に向かって、『動いて、海にはいれ。』と言って、心の中で疑わず、ただ、自分の言ったとおりになると信じるなら、そのとおりになります。
"In solemn truth I tell you that if any one shall say to this mountain, ‘Up and hurl yourself into the sea!’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but on the contrary shall believe that what he says will happen, it will be granted him.
24 だからあなたがたに言うのです。祈って求めるものは何でも、すでに受けたと信じなさい。そうすれば、そのとおりになります。
That is why I am telling you that whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it shall be yours.
25 また立って祈っているとき、だれかに対して恨み事があったら、赦してやりなさい。そうすれば、天におられるあなたがたの父も、あなたがたの罪を赦してくださいます。
And whenever you stand up to pray, forgive, if you have anything against any one, that so your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
26 彼らはまたエルサレムに来た。イエスが宮の中を歩いておられると、祭司長、律法学者、長老たちが、イエスのところにやって来た。
Once more they came into Jerusalem; and as he was walking in the Temple courts, there came to him the high priests and Scribes and elders and asked him.
28 そして、イエスに言った。「何の権威によって、これらのことをしておられるのですか。だれが、あなたにこれらのことをする権威を授けたのですか。」
"By what authority do you do these things? or who gave you this authority to do these things?"
29 そこでイエスは彼らに言われた。「一言尋ねますから、それに答えなさい。そうすれば、わたしも、何の権威によってこれらのことをしているかを、話しましょう。
"And I will put one question to you," replied Jesus. "Answer this, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30 ヨハネのバプテスマは、天から来たのですか、人から出たのですか。答えなさい。」
The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me!"
31 すると、彼らは、こう言いながら、互いに論じ合った。「もし、天から、と言えば、それならなぜ、彼を信じなかったかと言うだろう。
Then they began arguing with one another. "If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why then did you not believe him?"
32 だからといって、人から、と言ってよいだろうか。」――彼らは群衆を恐れていたのである。というのは、人々がみな、ヨハネは確かに預言者だと思っていたからである。
On the other hand, if we say, ‘From men’!"They were afraid, however, of the people, for every one held that Johnhad been really a prophet.
33 そこで彼らは、イエスに答えて、「わかりません。」と言った。そこでイエスは彼らに、「わたしも、何の権威によってこれらのことをするのか、あなたがたに話すまい。」と言われた。
So their answer to Jesus was, "We do not know." "Neither will I tell you," said Jesus, "by what authority I do these things."
