ヨハネの福音書 13
1 さて、過越の祭りの前に、この世を去って父のみもとに行くべき自分の時が来たことを知られたので、世にいる自分のものを愛されたイエスは、その愛を残るところなく示された。
Now before the feast of the Passover, Yeshua, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 夕食の間のことであった。悪魔はすでにシモンの子イスカリオテ・ユダの心に、イエスを売ろうとする思いを入れていたが、
During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judah Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,
3 イエスは、父が万物を自分の手に渡されたことと、ご自分が父から来て父に行くことを知られ、
Yeshua, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God and was going to God,
4 夕食の席から立ち上がって、上着を脱ぎ、手ぬぐいを取って腰にまとわれた。
arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 それから、たらいに水を入れ、弟子たちの足を洗って、腰にまとっておられる手ぬぐいで、ふき始められた。
Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 こうして、イエスはシモン・ペテロのところに来られた。ペテロはイエスに言った。「主よ。あなたが、私の足を洗ってくださるのですか。」
Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”
7 イエスは答えて言われた。「わたしがしていることは、今はあなたにはわからないが、あとでわかるようになります。」
Yeshua answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”
Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Yeshua answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
9 シモン・ペテロは言った。「主よ。私の足だけでなく、手も頭も洗ってください。」
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
10 イエスは彼に言われた。「水浴した者は、足以外は洗う必要がありません。全身きよいのです。あなたがたはきよいのですが、みながそうではありません。」
Yeshua said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”
11 イエスはご自分を裏切る者を知っておられた。それで、「みながきよいのではない。」と言われたのである。
For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”
12 イエスは、彼らの足を洗い終わり、上着を着けて、再び席に着いて、彼らに言われた。「わたしがあなたがたに何をしたか、わかりますか。
So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
13 あなたがたはわたしを先生とも主とも呼んでいます。あなたがたがそう言うのはよい。わたしはそのような者だからです。
You call me, ‘Rabbi’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
14 それで、主であり師であるこのわたしが、あなたがたの足を洗ったのですから、あなたがたもまた互いに足を洗い合うべきです。
If I then, the Lord and the Rabbi, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 わたしがあなたがたにしたとおりに、あなたがたもするように、わたしはあなたがたに模範を示したのです。
For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.
16 まことに、まことに、あなたがたに告げます。しもべはその主人にまさらず、遣わされた者は遣わした者にまさるものではありません。
Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
17 あなたがたがこれらのことを知っているのなら、それを行なうときに、あなたがたは祝福されるのです。
If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
18 わたしは、あなたがた全部の者について言っているのではありません。わたしは、わたしが選んだ者を知っています。しかし聖書に『わたしのパンを食べている者が、わたしに向かってかかとを上げた。』と書いてあることは成就するのです。
I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
19 わたしは、そのことが起こる前に、今あなたがたに話しておきます。そのことが起こったときに、わたしがその人であることをあなたがたが信じるためです。
From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.
20 まことに、まことに、あなたがたに告げます。わたしの遣わす者を受け入れる者は、わたしを受け入れるのです。わたしを受け入れる者は、わたしを遣わした方を受け入れるのです。」
Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”
21 イエスは、これらのことを話されたとき、霊の激動を感じ、あかしして言われた。「まことに、まことに、あなたがたに告げます。あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ります。」
When Yeshua had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
22 弟子たちは、だれのことを言われたのか、わからずに当惑して、互いに顔を見合わせていた。
The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.
23 弟子のひとりで、イエスが愛しておられた者が、イエスの右側で席に着いていた。
One of his disciples, whom Yeshua loved, was at the table, leaning against Yeshua’s chest.
24 そこで、シモン・ペテロが彼に合図をして言った。「だれのことを言っておられるのか、知らせなさい。」
Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”
25 その弟子は、イエスの右側で席に着いたまま、イエスに言った。「主よ。それはだれですか。」
He, leaning back, as he was, on Yeshua’s chest, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
26 イエスは答えられた。「それはわたしがパン切れを浸して与える者です。」それからイエスは、パン切れを浸し、取って、イスカリオテ・シモンの子ユダにお与えになった。
Yeshua therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judah, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 彼がパン切れを受けると、そのとき、サタンが彼にはいった。そこで、イエスは彼に言われた。「あなたがしようとしていることを、今すぐしなさい。」
After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Yeshua said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”
28 席に着いている者で、イエスが何のためにユダにそう言われたのか知っている者は、だれもなかった。
Now nobody at the table knew why he said this to him.
29 ユダが金入れを持っていたので、イエスが彼に、「祭りのために入用の物を買え。」と言われたのだとか、または、貧しい人々に何か施しをするように言われたのだとか思った者も中にはいた。
For some thought, because Judah had the money box, that Yeshua said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
30 ユダは、パン切れを受けるとすぐ、外に出て行った。すでに夜であった。
Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.
31 ユダが出て行ったとき、イエスは言われた。「今こそ人の子は栄光を受けました。また、神は人の子によって栄光をお受けになりました。
When he had gone out, Yeshua said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.
32 神が、人の子によって栄光をお受けになったのであれば、神も、ご自身によって人の子に栄光をお与えになります。しかも、ただちにお与えになります。
If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.
33 子どもたちよ。わたしはいましばらくの間、あなたがたといっしょにいます。あなたがたはわたしを捜すでしょう。そして、『わたしが行く所へは、あなたがたは来ることができない。』とわたしがユダヤ人たちに言ったように、今はあなたがたにも言うのです。
Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Judeans, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.
34 あなたがたに新しい戒めを与えましょう。あなたがたは互いに愛し合いなさい。わたしがあなたがたを愛したように、そのように、あなたがたも互いに愛し合いなさい。
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
35 もしあなたがたの互いの間に愛があるなら、それによって、あなたがたがわたしの弟子であることを、すべての人が認めるのです。」
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
36 シモン・ペテロがイエスに言った。「主よ。どこにおいでになるのですか。」イエスは答えられた。「わたしが行く所に、あなたは今はついて来ることができません。しかし後にはついて来ます。」
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Yeshua answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
37 ペテロはイエスに言った。「主よ。なぜ今はあなたについて行くことができないのですか。あなたのためにはいのちも捨てます。」
Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
38 イエスは答えられた。「わたしのためにはいのちも捨てる、と言うのですか。まことに、まことに、あなたに告げます。鶏が鳴くまでに、あなたは三度わたしを知らないと言います。」
Yeshua answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.
