使徒の働き 1
1 テオピロよ。私は前の書で、イエスが行ない始め、教え始められたすべてのことについて書き、
The first account I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Yeshua began both to do and to teach,
2 お選びになった使徒たちに聖霊によって命じてから、天に上げられた日のことにまで及びました。
until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Ruach ha-Kodesh to the emissaries whom he had chosen.
3 イエスは苦しみを受けた後、四十日の間、彼らに現われて、神の国のことを語り、数多くの確かな証拠をもって、ご自分が生きていることを使徒たちに示された。
To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about God's Kingdom.
4 彼らといっしょにいるとき、イエスは彼らにこう命じられた。「エルサレムを離れないで、わたしから聞いた父の約束を待ちなさい。
Being assembled together with them, he commanded them, "Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
5 ヨハネは水でバプテスマを授けたが、もう間もなく、あなたがたは聖霊のバプテスマを受けるからです。」
For John indeed immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Ruach ha-Kodesh not many days from now."
6 そこで、彼らは、いっしょに集まったとき、イエスにこう尋ねた。「主よ。今こそ、イスラエルのために国を再興してくださるのですか。」
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
7 イエスは言われた。「いつとか、どんなときとかいうことは、あなたがたは知らなくてもよいのです。それは、父がご自分の権威をもってお定めになっています。
He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.
8 しかし、聖霊があなたがたの上に臨まれるとき、あなたがたは力を受けます。そして、エルサレム、ユダヤとサマリヤの全土、および地の果てにまで、わたしの証人となります。」
But you will receive power when the Ruach ha-Kodesh has come upon you. You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth."
9 こう言ってから、イエスは彼らが見ている間に上げられ、雲に包まれて、見えなくなられた。
When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
10 イエスが上って行かれるとき、弟子たちは天を見つめていた。すると、見よ、白い衣を着た人がふたり、彼らのそばに立っていた。
While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, look, two men stood by them in white clothing,
11 そして、こう言った。「ガリラヤの人たち。なぜ天を見上げて立っているのですか。あなたがたを離れて天に上げられたこのイエスは、天に上って行かれるのをあなたがたが見たときと同じ有様で、またおいでになります。」
who also said, "You men of Galil, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Yeshua, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky."
12 そこで、彼らはオリーブという山からエルサレムに帰った。この山はエルサレムの近くにあって、安息日の道のりほどの距離であった。
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away.
13 彼らは町にはいると、泊まっている屋上の間に上がった。この人々は、ペテロとヨハネとヤコブとアンデレ、ピリポとトマス、バルトロマイとマタイ、アルパヨの子ヤコブと熱心党員シモンとヤコブの子ユダであった。
When they had come in, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, Jacob, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, Jacob the son of Halfai, Shim'on the Zealot, and Judah the son of Jacob.
14 この人たちは、婦人たちやイエスの母マリヤ、およびイエスの兄弟たちとともに、みな心を合わせ、祈りに専念していた。
All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer, along with the women, and Miriam the mother of Yeshua, and with his brothers.
15 そのころ、百二十名ほどの兄弟たちが集まっていたが、ペテロはその中に立ってこう言った。
In these days, Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers (and the number of names was about one hundred twenty), and said,
16 「兄弟たち。イエスを捕えた者どもの手引きをしたユダについて、聖霊がダビデの口を通して預言された聖書のことばは、成就しなければならなかったのです。
"Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Ruach ha-Kodesh spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judah, who was guide to those who took Yeshua.
17 ユダは私たちの仲間として数えられており、この務めを受けていました。
For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
18 （ところがこの男は、不正なことをして得た報酬で地所を手に入れたが、まっさかさまに落ち、からだは真二つに裂け、はらわたが全部飛び出してしまった。
Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headfirst his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
19 このことが、エルサレムの住民全部に知れて、その地所は彼らの国語でアケルダマ、すなわち『血の地所』と呼ばれるようになった。）
It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called 'Hakel-Dema,' that is, 'The field of blood.'
20 実は詩篇には、こう書いてあるのです。『彼の住まいは荒れ果てよ、そこには住む者がいなくなれ。』また、『その職は、ほかの人に取らせよ。』
For it is written in the scroll of Psalms, 'Let his habitation be made desolate, and let no one dwell in it;' and, 'Let another take his office.'
21 ですから、主イエスが私たちといっしょに生活された間、
"Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Yeshua went in and out among us,
22 すなわち、ヨハネのバプテスマから始まって、私たちを離れて天に上げられた日までの間、いつも私たちと行動をともにした者の中から、だれかひとりが、私たちとともにイエスの復活の証人とならなければなりません。」
beginning from the immersion of John, to the day that he was received up from us, of these one must become a witness with us of his resurrection."
23 そこで、彼らは、バルサバと呼ばれ別名をユストというヨセフと、マッテヤとのふたりを立てた。
They put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 そして、こう祈った。「すべての人の心を知っておられる主よ。
They prayed, and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all people, show which one of these two you have chosen
25 この務めと使徒職の地位を継がせるために、このふたりのうちのどちらをお選びになるか、お示しください。ユダは自分のところへ行くために脱落して行きましたから。」
to take part in this ministry and office of emissary from which Judah turned away to go to his own place."
26 そしてふたりのためにくじを引くと、くじはマッテヤに当たったので、彼は十一人の使徒たちに加えられた。
They drew lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven emissaries.
