ローマ人への手紙 15

1 我等強き者は弱き人々の虚弱を擔ふべくして、己を喜ばすべからず、

Now we who are strong ought to bear with the limitations of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

2 汝等各近き人の徳を立つべく、善事を以て之を喜ばすべし。

Let each of us please the neighbor with a view to what is good for edifying.

3 蓋キリストは己を喜ばし給はず、却て録して、「汝[主]を罵れる人々の侮辱我に落ちかかれり」、とあるが如くに為し給へり。

Because even the Christ did not please Himself; rather, as it is written: “The revilings of those reviling you fell on me.”

4 蓋凡て曩に録されたる事は我等に教訓となり、我等をして聖書に依る忍耐と慰籍とを以て、希望を保たしめん為に録されたるなり。

Whatever things were written before were so written for our instruction, so that through the fortitude and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

5 願はくは忍耐と慰籍とを賜ふ神、汝等をしてイエズス、キリストに從ひて心を同じうせしめ、

Now may the God of that fortitude and that encouragement grant you to be of the same mind among yourselves according to Christ Jesus,

6 一の心、一の口を以て我主イエズス、キリストの神にして父にて在すものを崇め奉るを得しめ給はん事を。

so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart and voice.

7 然ればキリストが神の光榮の為に汝等を承容れ給ひし如く、汝等も互に承容れよ。

Therefore accept one another, just as the Christ also accepted us, to the glory of God.

8 我は言はん、キリスト、イエズスが割禮[の人々]の役者となり給ひしは、神の眞實を顕し、祖先の[蒙りし]約束を固め、

Now I say that Christ Jesus has become a minister to the circumcised on behalf of God's truth, in order to confirm the promises to the fathers;

9 又異邦人をして神を其憫によりて崇めしめ給はん為なり。録して「然れば主よ、我異邦人の中に汝を宣言し、且御名を讃謳はん」とあるが如し。

and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: “For this reason I will give praise to you among the Gentiles, O Lord, and will sing psalms to your name.”

10 又曰く、「異邦人等よ、主の民と共に喜べ」、

And again He says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”

11 又「諸の國、主を讃美せよ、諸の民之を崇め奉れ」とあり。

And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and laud Him, all you peoples!”

12 又イザヤ曰く、「イエッセの根は芽して異邦人を治むべきもの起らん、異邦人之を希望せん」と。

And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.”

13 願はくは希望の神、信仰によりて起る一切の喜と平安とを汝等に満たしめ、聖霊の力を以て汝等の希望に豊ならしめ給はん事を。

Now may the God of the hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in that hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

14 第一款 弁解及び願望 第二項 パウロ自身に関する事故 我兄弟等よ、我も汝等が自ら慈愛に満ち、且凡ての智識に満ちて、能く互に訓戒し得る者なる事を確信す。

Now I myself am really confident about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.

15 然れど兄弟等よ、我が動もすれば餘りに憚りなく汝等に書贈りしこと、恰も汝等をして思出さしめんとせる如くなるは、是神より我に賜はりたる恩寵に由れり。

Nevertheless I have written to you quite boldly on some points, brothers, as a reminder to you, because of the grace given to me by God,

16 此恩寵あるは、我異邦人の為に、キリスト、イエズスの役者となりて、神の福音の祭務を執行し、異邦人が聖霊に由りて聖とせられ、御意に適へる献物とならん為なり。

that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the nations, serving the Gospel of God as a priest so that the Gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by Holy Spirit.

17 然れば神に関して、キリスト、イエズスに於て我が誇るべき所あり。

So in Christ Jesus I do have a boast in things pertaining to God;

18 蓋キリストが異邦人を從はしめん為に我を用ひ、言と行とを以て、

because I do not presume to speak of anything except those things that Christ has accomplished through me to make the Gentiles obedient—by word and deed,

19 徴と奇蹟との勢力及び聖霊に由る能力に由りて為し給へる事に非ざれば、我敢て之を語らず。即ちエルザレムよりイルリコ[州]に至る迄の地方を巡りて、キリストの福音を満たせり。

by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of God's Spirit, so that I have fully proclaimed the Gospel of the Christ from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.

20 但福音を宣べしは、キリストの御名の既に稱へられたる處に非ず、是は他人の置きたる基礎の上に築かざらん為なり。

It has always been my aim to evangelize where Christ has not been named, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation;

21 録して、「未だ告げられざりし人々は之を見ん、聞かざりし人々は悟らん」、とあるが如し。

rather, as it is written: “Those to whom He was not announced will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”

22 我が汝等に至る事之が為に妨げられて、我今まで留められたりしが、

That is why I have been hindered these many times from coming to you.

23 今は早此地方に為すべき事なく、汝等に至らん事は、年來の切なる願なれば、

But now, no longer having a place in these parts, and having a longing these many years to come to you,

24 イスパニアへ往かん時に、立寄りて汝等を見ん事、又汝等を以て幾分の満足を得たる後、汝等より彼處へ送られん事、是我希望なり。

whenever I travel to Spain I will come to you. Because I hope to see you while passing through, and to be sent on my way there by you, if I may first enjoy your company for a while.

25 然れば今はエルザレムに至り、聖徒等に事へんとす。

Now, however, I am traveling to Jerusalem, serving the saints.

26 蓋マケドニア及びアカヤ[州]（の人々）はエルザレムに居る聖徒の貧者の為に、幾何か醵金するを以て善しとせり。

Because Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

27 彼人々は之を善しとせしが、而も彼等に負債ある者なり。蓋異邦人は、彼等の霊的事物の分配を受けたれば、肉的事物を以て彼等に供すべきなり。

Yes, they were pleased, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are also obligated to minister to them in physical things.

28 然れば我此用事を終へ、其果を彼等に頒與へて後、汝等を経てイスパニアへ往かん。

So when I have finished this and have sealed to them this ‘fruit’, I will go by way of you to Spain.

29 我汝等に至らば、キリスト（の福音）の豊なる祝福を以て至るべきは、我が知る所なり。

And I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel of the Christ.

30 故に兄弟等よ、我主イエズス、キリストに由り、又聖霊の寵に由りて、我汝等に希ふ。我為に神に為す祈を以て我と共に戰へ。

Now I implore you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in prayers to God on my behalf,

31 是ユデアに在る不信者より我が救はれん為、且持行く贈物がエルザレムの聖徒等の意に適はん為、

that I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service to Jerusalem may be well received by the saints;

32 我が神の御旨に從ひ喜びて汝等に至り、汝等と共に安んずる事を得ん為なり。

so that I may come to you with joy by the will of God and be refreshed together with you.

33 願はくは平和の神汝等一同と共に在さん事を、アメン。

Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
