ヨハネの黙示録 8

1 第一款 豫備の出現 [羔]第七の封印を解き給ひしかば、天上静まりかへる事半時間。

And when He opened the seventh seal there was a stillness in heaven for about half an hour.

2 我又見たるに、七の天使神の御前に立ちて七の喇叭を授けられ、

And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

3 別に又一の天使、金の香炉を持來りて香台の上に立ち、多くの香を授けられしが、是諸聖人の祈に加へて、神の玉座の前なる金の香台の上に献げん為なり。

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer. He was given lots of incense so that he could offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that is before the throne.

4 斯て香の烟は、諸聖人の祈と共に天使の手より神の御前に立昇りしが、

And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel's hand.

5 天使香炉を取り、之に香台の火を盛りて地に投げしかば、雷と聲と電光と大地震と起り、

Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it at the earth. And there were noises and thunders and lightnings and an earthquake.

6 又七の喇叭を持てる七の天使、喇叭を吹かん身構を為せり。

And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to trumpet.

7 第二款 初の六の喇叭 斯て第一の天使喇叭を吹きしに、血の雑りたる雹と火と起りて地に降らされ、地の三分の一燃上り、樹木の三分の一燃上り、緑草悉く焼盡されたり。

So the first one trumpeted, and there appeared hail and fire mixed with blood, and it [the mixture] was thrown at the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up; that is, a third of the trees was burned up and all green grass was burned up.

8 第二の天使喇叭を吹きしに、火の燃ゆる大いなる山の如きもの海に投げられ、海の三分の一血に變じて、

So the second angel trumpeted, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.

9 海の中に活ける被造物の三分の一死し、船の三分の一も亡びたり。

And a third of the creatures with souls in the sea died. And a third of the ships were destroyed.

10 第三の天使喇叭を吹きしに、松明の如くに燃ゆる大いなる星天より落ちて、河の三分の一と水の源との上に落ちたり。

So the third angel trumpeted, and a great star fell out of the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and on the springs of waters.

11 此星は名を苦艾と云ひ、水の三分の一は苦艾の如くに成りて、水の苦く成りしが為に多くの人死せり。

The name of the star is called Wormwood; so a third of the waters were turned into wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.

12 第四の天使喇叭を吹きしに、日の三分の一と月の三分の一と打たれしかば、其三分の一は暗み、晝も三分の一は光らず、夜も亦同じ。

So the fourth angel trumpeted, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them was darkened; so a third of the day did not shine, and the night likewise.

13 我尚見たるに、天の中央を飛べる一の鷲聲高く、禍なる哉、禍なる哉、禍なる哉、地上に住める人々、尚喇叭を吹かんとする三の天使の聲によりて、と言へるを聞けり。

And I saw and heard an eagle flying in midheaven saying with a loud voice, three times: “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth because of the remaining trumpet blasts of the three angels who are about to trumpet!”
