マタイの福音書 22
1 イエズス答へて、又喩を以て語り曰ひけるは、
And Jesus responding, again spoke to them in parables, saying,
2 天國は恰其子の為に婚筵を開ける王の如し。
The kingdom of the heavens is like a king-man, who made a marriage for his son.
3 彼婚筵に招きたる人々を召ばんとて、僕等を遣はしたるに、彼等肯て來らざれば、
And he sent his servants to invite those who had been called to the marriage: and they were not willing to come.
4 復他の僕等を遣はすとて云ひけるは、招きたる人々に告げて、看よ我既に我が饗筵の準備を為せり、我牛と肥たる畜と、屠られて悉く具はれり、婚筵に臨まれよ、と云へ、と。
And again he sent other servants, saying; Speak to those who have been called, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatling are slain, and all things are ready: come to the marriage.
5 然れども彼等之を顧みず、一人は己が作家に、一人は己が商売に往き、
And they being careless, went away, one to his farm, and another to his merchandise:
6 其他は僕等を捕へ甚く辱めて殺ししかば、
but the rest, taking his servants, insulted, and slew them.
7 王之を聞きて怒り、軍勢を遣はして彼殺人等を亡ぼし、其街を焼払へり。
And the king was angry; and sending his armies, he destroyed those murderers, and burnt up their cities.
8 時に王其僕等に云ひけるは、婚筵既に備はりたれども、招かれし人々は[客となるに]堪へざりし故、
Then he says to his servants, The wedding is ready, but those having been invited were not worthy.
9 衢に往きて総て遇ふ人を婚筵に招け、と。
Go ye therefore to crossings of the roads, and so many as you may find, invite to the marriage.
10 僕等途々に出でて、遇ふ人を善きも惡きも悉く集めしかば、客は婚筵の場に満ちたり。
And those servants having gone out into the ways, led in all whom they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.
11 王客を見んとて入來り、一人婚禮の服を着けざる者あるを見て是に向ひ、
And the king having come in to look upon the guests, saw there a man not having on a wedding-garment.
12 友よ、如何ぞ婚禮の服を着けずして、此處に入りしや、と云ひけるに、彼黙然たりき。
And he says to him, Comrade, how did you come in hither, not having the wedding-garment? And he was silent.
13 王遂に給仕等に云ひけるは、彼の手足を縛りて之を外の暗に投出だせ、其處には痛哭と切歯とあらん、と。
Then the king said to the servants, Having bound him feet and hands, cast him into the darkness which is without; and there shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.
14 夫召されたる人は多けれども、選まるる人は少し、と。
For many are called, but few elected.
15 此時ファリザイ人等出でて、イエズスの詞後を捉へんと相謀り、
Then the Pharisees going forth, took counsel how they might ensnare Him in His speech.
16 己が弟子等をヘロデの党と共に遣はして、云はせけるは、師よ、汝が眞實にして、眞理によりて神の道を教へ、且人に依怙贔屓せざるを以て誰にも憚らざるは、我等の知れる所なり。
And they send to Him their own disciples along with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and that thou art teaching the way of God in truth, and there is not a care to thee for any one; for thou dost not look into the face of men.
17 然ればセザルに貢を納むるは可や否や、思ふ所を我等に告げよ、と。
Then tell us, what seems good to thee? is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
18 イエズス彼等の狡猾を知りて曰ひけるは、僞善者よ、何ぞ我を試むる。
And Jesus knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, O ye hypocrites?
19 貢の貨を我に見せよ、と。彼等デナリオを差出だしたるに、
Show me the tribute money: and they brought Him a denarion.
20 イエズス曰ひけるは、此像と銘とは誰のなるか、と。
And He says to them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 彼等セザルのなりと云ふ。時にイエズス曰ひけるは、然らばセザルの物はセザルに歸し、神の物は神に歸せ、と。
They say to Him, Caesar's. Then He says to them, Therefore render Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things which are God's.
22 彼等聞きて感嘆し、イエズスを離れて去れり。
And hearing they are astonished, and leaving Him, they went away.
23 復活なしと主張せるサドカイ人等、此日イエズスに近づき、問ひて、
On that day the Sadducees came to Him, saying, there is no resurrection: and asked Him,
24 云ひけるは、師よ、モイゼ曰く、「人若子なくして死なば、其兄弟彼が妻を娶りて、兄弟の為に子を挙ぐべし」と、
saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any man may die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
25 然るに我等の中七人の兄弟ありしに、兄妻を娶りて死し、子なかりしかば、其妻を弟に遺ししが、
But there were among us seven brothers: the first marrying died, and having no seed left his wife to his brother.
26 其第二第三より第七まで同じ様にして、
Likewise also, the second, and third, even unto seven.
27 最後に婦も亦死せり。
And last of all the woman also died.
28 然れば復活の時に當りて、此婦は七人の中誰の妻たるべきか、其は皆彼を娶りたればなり。
Therefore in the resurrection, of which one of the seven shall she be the wife? for they all had her.
29 イエズス答へて曰ひけるは、汝等聖書をも神の力をも知らずして誤れり。
and Jesus responding said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 復活の時、人は娶らず嫁がず、天に於る神の使等の如くならん。
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are as angels of God in heaven:
31 死人の復活に就きては、汝等神より云はれし所を読まざりしか。
concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
32 即汝等に曰はく、「我はアブラハムの神、イザアクの神、ヤコブの神なり」と。死者の神には非ず、生者の[神]にて在す、と。
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 群衆之を聞きて、其教を感嘆せり。
And the multitudes hearing, were delighted with His teaching.
34 然てファリザイ人等、イエズスがサドカイ人を閉口せしめ給ひしを聞きて相集まりしが、
And the Pharisees, hearing that He silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
35 中に一人の律法學士イエズスを試みて問ひけるは、
And one of them, a theologian, tempting Him, asked Him also, saying,
36 師よ律法に於て大なる掟は何れぞや。
Teacher, what is the great commandment in the law?
37 イエズス曰ひけるは、「汝、心を盡し、霊を盡し、意を盡して汝の神にて在す主を愛すべし」、
And He said to him; Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 是最大なる第一の掟なり。
This is the first and great commandment.
39 第二も亦是に似たり、「汝の近き者を己の如く愛すべし」。
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 凡ての律法と預言者とは此二の掟に據るなり。
On these two commandments hang all the law, and the prophets.
41 ファリザイ人の集れるに、イエズス問ひて、
And the Pharisees being assembled, Jesus asked them,
42 曰ひけるは、汝等キリストに就きて如何に思ふぞ、誰の子なるか、と。彼等、ダヴィドの子なり、と云ひければ、
saying, What seems to you concerning the Christ? whose son is He? They say to Him, Of David.
43 イエズス曰ひけるは、然らばダヴィド[聖]霊によりて彼を主と稱ふるは如何、
He says to them, How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying,
44 曰く「主我主に曰へらく、我汝の敵を汝の足台と為すまで、我右に坐せよ」と、
The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, until I may make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?
45 然ればダヴィド彼を主と稱ふるに、彼爭でか其子ならんや、と。
Then if David calls Him Lord, how is He his son?
46 皆誰一言もイエズスに答ふること能はず、此日より復敢て問ふ者なかりき。
And no one was able to respond a word to Him, neither did any one from that day dare to ask Him anything more.
