箴言 知恵の泉 6
1 我子よ汝もし朋友のために保證をなし 他人のために汝の手を拍ば
My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, [if] thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
2 汝その口の言によりてわなにかかり その口の言によりてとらへらるるなり
Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
3 我子よ汝友の手に陥りしならば斯して自ら救へ すなはち往て自ら謙たり只管なんぢの友に求め
Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.
4 汝の目をして睡らしむることなく 汝の眼瞼をして閉しむること勿れ
Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
5 かりうどの手より鹿ののがるるごとく 鳥とる者の手より鳥ののがるる如くして みづからを救へ
Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand [of the hunter], and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
6 惰者よ蟻にゆき其爲すところを観て智慧をえよ
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 蟻は首領なく有司なく君主なけれども
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 夏のうちに食をそなへ 収穫のときに糧を斂む
Provideth her meat in the summer, [and] gathereth her food in the harvest.
9 惰者よ汝いづれの時まで臥息むや いづれの時まで睡りて起ざるや
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
10 しぼらく臥ししばらく睡り 手を叉きてまた片時やすむさらば
[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
11 汝の貧窮は盗人の如くきたり汝の欠乏は兵士の如くきたるべし
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
12 邪曲なる人あしき人は虚偽の言をもて事を行ふ
A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
13 彼は眼をもて眴せし 脚をもてしらせ 指をもて示す
He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
14 その心に虚偽をたもち 常に惡をはかり 争端を起す
Frowardness [is] in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
15 この故にその禍害にはかに來り 援助なくして立刻に敗らるべし
Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
16 ヱホバの憎みたまふもの六あり 否その心に嫌ひたまふもの七あり
These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
17 即ち驕る目いつはりをいふ舌 つみなき人の血を流す手
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 惡き謀計をめぐらす心 すみやかに惡に趨る足
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 詐偽をのぶる證人 および兄弟のうちに争端をおこす者なり
A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
20 我子よ汝の父の誠命を守り 汝の母の法を棄る勿れ
My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
21 常にこれを汝の心にむす び之をなんぢの頚に佩よ
Bind them continually upon thine heart, [and] tie them about thy neck.
22 これは汝のゆくとき汝をみちびき 汝の寝るとき汝をまもり 汝の寤るとき汝とかたらん
When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and [when] thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
23 それ誡命は燈火なり 法は光なり 教訓の懲治は生命の道なり
For the commandment [is] a lamp; and the law [is] light; and reproofs of instruction [are] the way of life:
24 これは汝をまもりて惡き婦よりまぬかれしめ 汝をたもちて淫婦の舌の諂媚にまどはされざらしめん
To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
25 その艶美を心に戀ふことなかれ その眼瞼に捕へらるること勿れ
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
26 それ娼妓のために人はただ僅に一撮の糧をのこすのみにいたる 又淫婦は人の尊き生命を求むるなり
For by means of a whorish woman [a man is brought] to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
27 人は火を懐に抱きてその衣を焚れざらんや
Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
28 人は熱火を踏て其足を焚れざらんや
Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
29 その隣の妻と姦淫をおこなふ者もかくあるべし 凡て之に捫る者は罪なしとせられず
So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
30 竊む者もし飢しときに其飢を充さん爲にぬすめるならば人これを藐ぜじ
[Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
31 もし捕へられなばその七倍を償ひ其家の所有をことごとく出さざるべからず
But [if] he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
32 婦と姦淫をおこなふ者は智慧なきなり 之を行ふ者はおのれの霊魂を亡し
[But] whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he [that] doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
33 傷と陵辱とをうけて其恥を雪ぐこと能はず
A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
34 妒忌その夫をして忿怒をもやさしむればその怨を報ゆるときかならず寛さじ
For jealousy [is] the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
35 いかなる贖物をも顧みず 衆多の饋物をなすともやはらがざるべし
He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.
