イザヤ書 50
1 主はこう言われる、「わたしがあなたがたの母を去らせたその離縁状は、どこにあるか。わたしはどの債主にあなたがたを売りわたしたか。見よ、あなたがたは、その不義のために売られ、あなたがたの母は、あなたがたのとがのために出されたのだ。
Thus saith the LORD, Where [is] the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors [is it] to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.
2 わたしが来たとき、なぜひとりもいなかったか。わたしが呼んだとき、なぜひとりも答える者がなかったか。わたしの手が短くて、あがなうことができないのか。わたしは救う力を持たないのか。見よ、わたしが、しかると海はかれ、川は荒野となり、その中の魚は水がないために、かわき死んで悪臭を放つ。
Why, when I came, [was there] no man? when I called, [was there] none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish becometh putrid, because [there is] no water, and dieth for thirst.
3 わたしは黒い衣を天に着せ、荒布をもってそのおおいとする」。
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
4 主なる神は教をうけた者の舌をわたしに与えて、疲れた者を言葉をもって助けることを知らせ、また朝ごとにさまし、わたしの耳をさまして、教をうけた者のように聞かせられる。
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to [him that is] weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth my ear to hear as the learned.
5 主なる神はわたしの耳を開かれた。わたしは、そむくことをせず、退くことをしなかった。
The LORD GOD opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
6 わたしを打つ者に、わたしの背をまかせ、わたしのひげを抜く者に、わたしのほおをまかせ、恥とつばきとを避けるために、顔をかくさなかった。
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
7 しかし主なる神はわたしを助けられる。それゆえ、わたしは恥じることがなかった。それゆえ、わたしは顔を火打石のようにした。わたしは決してはずかしめられないことを知る。
For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
8 わたしを義とする者が近くおられる。だれがわたしと争うだろうか、われわれは共に立とう。わたしのあだはだれか、わたしの所へ近くこさせよ。
[He is] near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together; who [is] my adversary? let him come near to me.
9 見よ、主なる神はわたしを助けられる。だれがわたしを罪に定めるだろうか。見よ、彼らは皆衣のようにふるび、しみのために食いつくされる。
Behold the Lord GOD will help me; who [is] he [that] shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
10 あなたがたのうち主を恐れ、そのしもべの声に聞き従い、暗い中を歩いて光を得なくても、なお主の名を頼み、おのれの神にたよる者はだれか。
Who [is] among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh [in] darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely upon his God.
11 見よ、火を燃やし、たいまつをともす者よ、皆その火の炎の中を歩め、またその燃やした、たいまつの中を歩め。あなたがたは、これをわたしの手から受けて、苦しみのうちに伏し倒れる。
Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that encompass [yourselves] with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks [that] ye have kindled. This shall ye have of my hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
