イザヤ書 2
1 アモツの子イザヤが示されたるユダとヱルサレムとにかかる言
That which Isaiah, son of Amoz saw in vision, —concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 すゑの日にヱホバの家の山はもろもろの山のいただきに堅立ち もろもろの嶺よりもたかく擧り すべての國は流のごとく之につかん
But it shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days, That the mountain of the house of Yahweh Shall be, set up, as the head of the mountains, And be exalted above the hills, —And all the nations, shall stream thereunto;
3 おほくの民ゆきて相語いはん 率われらヱホバの山にのぼりヤコブの神の家にゆかん神われらにその道ををしヘ給はん われらその路をあゆむべしと そは律法はシオンよりいでヱホバの言はヱルサレムより出べければなり
And many peoples shall go and say—Come ye, and let us ascend Unto the mountain of Yahweh Unto the house of the God of Jacob, That he may teach us of his ways, And we may walk in his paths, —For, out of Zion, shall go forth a law, And the word of Yahweh out of Jerusalem;
4 ヱホバはもろもろの國のあひだを鞫き おほくの民をせめたまはん 斯てかれらはその劒をうちかへて鋤となし その鎗をうちかへて鎌となし 國は國にむかひて劒をあげず戰鬪のことを再びまなばざるべし
And he will judge between the nations, And be umpire to many peoples, —And they will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning-hooks, Nation—against nation, shall not lift up sword, Neither shall they learn any more to make war,
5 ヤコブの家よきたれ 我儕ヱホバの光にあゆまん
O house of Jacob! come ye and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.
6 主よなんぢはその民ヤコブの家をすてたまへり 此はかれらのなかに東のかたの風俗みち 皆ぺリシテ人のごとく陰陽師となり 異邦人のともがらと手をうちて盟をたてしが故なり
Therefore hast thou abandoned thy people the house of Jacob, Because they have become full of the East, And use hidden arts like the Philistines, —And with the children of foreigners, strike hands; —
7 かれらの國には黄金白銀みちて財寶の數かぎりなし かれらの國には馬みちて戰車のかず限りなし
So that filled is their land with silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures, —And filled is their land with horses, And there is no end to their chariots;
8 かれらの國には偶像みち皆おのが手の工その指のつくれる者ををがめり
And filled is their land with idols, —To the work of their own hands, do they bow themselves down, To that which they made with their own fingers.
9 賤しきものは屈められ尊きものは卑せらる かれらを容したまふなかれ
So the mean man boweth down And the great man stoopeth low, —Therefore do not thou forgive them!
10 なんぢ岩間にいりまた土にかくれてヱホバの畏るべき容貌とその稜威の光輝とをさくべし
Enter into the rock, Or hide thee in the dust, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour.
11 この日には目をあげて高ぶるもの卑せられ 驕る人かがめられ唯ヱホバのみ高くあげられ給はん
The lofty looks of mean men, shall be humbled, And, the haughtiness of great men, shall be bowed down, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 そは萬軍のヱホバの一の日あり すべて高ぶる者おごる者みづからを崇るものの上にのぞみて之をひくくし
For, a day of Yahweh of hosts, [shall be] —Upon every one who is high and lofty, —And upon every one who is lifted up, And he shall be brought low;
13 またレバノンのたかく聳たるすべての香柏バシャンのすべての橿樹
And upon all cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, —And upon all the oaks of Bashan;
14 もろもろの高山もろもろの聳えたる嶺
And upon all the lofty mountains, —And upon all the uplifted hills;
15 すべてのたかき櫓すべての堅固なる石垣
And upon every high tower, —And upon every fortress wall;
16 およびタルシシのすべての舟すべての慕ふべき美はしきものに臨むべし
And upon all the ships of Tarshish, —And upon all desirable banners.
17 この日には高ぶる者はかがめられ 驕る人はひくくせられ 唯ヱホバのみ高くあげられ給はん
And the haughtiness of mean men, shall be humbled, —And the loftiness of great men, shall be laid low, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 かくて偶像はことごとく亡びうすべし
And, the idols, shall wholly pass away;
19 ヱホバたちて地を震動したまふとき人々そのおそるべき容貌とその稜威の光輝とをさけて巌の洞と地の穴とにいらん
And they shall enter into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of clay, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 その日人々おのが拝せんとて造れる白銀ぐうざうと黄金のぐうざうとを鼹鼠のあな蝙蝠の穴になげすて
In that day shall the son of earth cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, —which had been made for him to worship, into the hole of the mice, and to the bats;
21 岩々の隙けはしき山峽にいりヱホバの起て地をふるひうごかしたまふその畏るべき容貌と稜威のかがやきとを避ん
That he may enter into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the crags, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 なんぢら鼻より息のいでいりする人に倚ることをやめよ斯るものは何ぞかぞふるに足らん
Cease ye from the son of earth, In whose nostrils is but a breath, —For wherein to be reckoned upon, is he?
