ヨハネの黙示録 9
And, the fifth messenger, sounded; and I saw a star, out of heaven, fallen unto the earth, and there was given unto him the key of the shaft of the abyss. (Abyssos g12)
And he opened the shaft of the abyss; and there came up a smoke out of the shaft, as the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened, by reason of the smoke of the shaft. (Abyssos g12)
3 その煙の中から、いなごが地上に出てきたが、地のさそりが持っているような力が、彼らに与えられた。
And, out of the smoke, came forth, locusts, upon the earth; and there was given unto them licence, as the scorpions of the earth have licence.
4 彼らは、地の草やすべての青草、またすべての木をそこなってはならないが、額に神の印がない人たちには害を加えてもよいと、言い渡された。
And it was bidden them that they should not injure the herbage of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, —but only the men who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads.
5 彼らは、人間を殺すことはしないで、五か月のあいだ苦しめることだけが許された。彼らの与える苦痛は、人がさそりにさされる時のような苦痛であった。
And it was given unto them, that they should not slay them, but that they should be tormented five months; and, the torture of them, was as of a scorpion’s torture, whensoever it smiteth a man.
6 その時には、人々は死を求めても与えられず、死にたいと願っても、死は逃げて行くのである。
And, in those days, shall men seek death, and in nowise shall find it, and shall covet to die, and death fleeth from them.
7 これらのいなごは、出陣の用意のととのえられた馬によく似ており、その頭には金の冠のようなものをつけ、その顔は人間の顔のようであり、
And, the likenesses of the locusts, were like unto horses prepared for battle; and, upon their heads, as it were crowns, like unto gold, and, their faces, were as the faces of men,
8 また、そのかみの毛は女のかみのようであり、その歯はししの歯のようであった。
and, they had hair, as the hair of women, and, their teeth, were, as of lions,
9 また、鉄の胸当のような胸当をつけており、その羽の音は、馬に引かれて戦場に急ぐ多くの戦車の響きのようであった。
and they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and, the sound of their wings, was as the sound of chariots of many horses, running into battle;
10 その上、さそりのような尾と針とを持っている。その尾には、五か月のあいだ人間をそこなう力がある。
and they have tails like unto scorpions, and stings, and, in their tails, is their licence to injure men five months.
They have over them, as king, the messenger of the abyss, whose name, in Hebrew, is Abaddon, and, in the Greek, he hath for name, Destroyer. (Abyssos g12)
12 第一のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、この後、なお二つのわざわいが来る。
The first, Woe, hath passed away, lo! there come, yet, two, Woes, after these things.
13 第六の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、一つの声が、神のみまえにある金の祭壇の四つの角から出て、
And, the sixth messenger, sounded; and I heard one voice, from among the horns of the altar of gold which is before God,
14 ラッパを持っている第六の御使にこう呼びかけるのを、わたしは聞いた。「大ユウフラテ川のほとりにつながれている四人の御使を、解いてやれ」。
saying unto the sixth messenger, who was holding the trumpet—Loose the four messengers, who are bound at the great river Euphrates.
15 すると、その時、その日、その月、その年に備えておかれた四人の御使が、人間の三分の一を殺すために、解き放たれた。
And the four messengers were loosed, who had been prepared for the hour, and day, and month, and year, that they should slay the third of men.
16 騎兵隊の数は二億であった。わたしはその数を聞いた。
And, the number of the armies of the horsemen, was twice ten thousand times ten thousand—I heard the number of them.
17 そして、まぼろしの中で、それらの馬とそれに乗っている者たちとを見ると、乗っている者たちは、火の色と青玉色と硫黄の色の胸当をつけていた。そして、それらの馬の頭はししの頭のようであって、その口から火と煙と硫黄とが、出ていた。
And, thus, saw I the horses in the vision, —and them who were sitting upon them, having breastplates as of fire and hyacinth and brimstone; —and, the heads of the horses, were as heads of lions, and, out of their mouths, come forth fire and smoke and brimstone:
18 この三つの災害、すなわち、彼らの口から出て来る火と煙と硫黄とによって、人間の三分の一は殺されてしまった。
by these three plagues, were slain, the third part of mankind, by reason of the fire and the smoke and the brimstone, that proceedeth out of their mouths;
19 馬の力はその口と尾とにある。その尾はへびに似ていて、それに頭があり、その頭で人に害を加えるのである。
for, the licence of the horses, is, in their mouth, and in their tails, for, their tails, are like unto serpents, having heads, and, with them, they injure.
20 これらの災害で殺されずに残った人々は、自分の手で造ったものについて、悔い改めようとせず、また悪霊のたぐいや、金、銀、銅、石、木で造られ、見ることも聞くことも歩くこともできない偶像を礼拝して、やめようともしなかった。
And, the rest of mankind who were not slain by these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, —that they should not do homage unto the demons, nor unto the idols of gold and of silver and of copper and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;
21 また、彼らは、その犯した殺人や、まじないや、不品行や、盗みを悔い改めようとしなかった。
Neither repented they of their murders, or of their sorceries, or of their lewdnesses, or of their thefts.
