ヨハネの黙示録 3
1 サルデスにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『神の七つの霊と七つの星とを持つかたが、次のように言われる。わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。すなわち、あなたは、生きているというのは名だけで、実は死んでいる。
“To the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘These are the words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know yoʋr works; yoʋ have made a name for yoʋrself and yoʋ are alive, but actually yoʋ are dead.
2 目をさましていて、死にかけている残りの者たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたのわざが、わたしの神のみまえに完全であるとは見ていない。
Be watchful and strengthen what remains, which yoʋ were about to throw away, for I have not found yoʋr works to be complete in the sight of my God.
3 だから、あなたが、どのようにして受けたか、また聞いたかを思い起して、それを守りとおし、かつ悔い改めなさい。もし目をさましていないなら、わたしは盗人のように来るであろう。どんな時にあなたのところに来るか、あなたには決してわからない。
So remember what yoʋ have received, and repent. If yoʋ do not wake up, I will come upon yoʋ like a thief, and yoʋ will certainly not know at what hour I will come upon yoʋ.
4 しかし、サルデスにはその衣を汚さない人が、数人いる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしと共に歩みを続けるであろう。彼らは、それにふさわしい者である。
But yoʋ have a few individuals in Sardis who have not defiled their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
5 勝利を得る者は、このように白い衣を着せられるのである。わたしは、その名をいのちの書から消すようなことを、決してしない。また、わたしの父と御使たちの前で、その名を言いあらわそう。
He who overcomes will be clothed in white garments. I will certainly not blot out his name from the book of life, but will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
6 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’
7 ヒラデルヒヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『聖なる者、まことなる者、ダビデのかぎを持つ者、開けばだれにも閉じられることがなく、閉じればだれにも開かれることのない者が、次のように言われる。
“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘These are the words of him who is holy and true, who has the key of David and opens doors that no one else can open or shut:
8 わたしは、あなたのわざを知っている。見よ、わたしは、あなたの前に、だれも閉じることのできない門を開いておいた。なぜなら、あなたには少ししか力がなかったにもかかわらず、わたしの言葉を守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。
I know yoʋr works. Behold, I have set before yoʋ an open door that no one can shut. I know that yoʋ have little strength, but yoʋ have kept my word and have not denied my name.
9 見よ、サタンの会堂に属する者、すなわち、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくて、偽る者たちに、こうしよう。見よ、彼らがあなたの足もとにきて平伏するようにし、そして、わたしがあなたを愛していることを、彼らに知らせよう。
Those of the synagogue of Satan are liars. They declare themselves to be Jews but are not. Behold, I will make them come and bow down at yoʋr feet, and they will know that I love yoʋ.
10 忍耐についてのわたしの言葉をあなたが守ったから、わたしも、地上に住む者たちをためすために、全世界に臨もうとしている試錬の時に、あなたを防ぎ守ろう。
Because yoʋ have kept my command to persevere, I will keep yoʋ from the hour of trial that is about to come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth.
11 わたしは、すぐに来る。あなたの冠がだれにも奪われないように、自分の持っているものを堅く守っていなさい。
I am coming quickly. Hold fast to what yoʋ have so that no one will take yoʋr crown.
12 勝利を得る者を、わたしの神の聖所における柱にしよう。彼は決して二度と外へ出ることはない。そして彼の上に、わたしの神の御名と、わたしの神の都、すなわち、天とわたしの神のみもとから下ってくる新しいエルサレムの名と、わたしの新しい名とを、書きつけよう。
The one who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will no longer go out at all. I will write on him the name of my God, the name of the city of my God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God), and the new name he is to receive.
13 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’
14 ラオデキヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『アァメンたる者、忠実な、まことの証人、神に造られたものの根源であるかたが、次のように言われる。
“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the origin of God's creation:
15 わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。あなたは冷たくもなく、熱くもない。むしろ、冷たいか熱いかであってほしい。
I know yoʋr works; yoʋ are neither cold nor hot. If only yoʋ were cold or hot!
16 このように、熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう。
So, because yoʋ are lukewarm, and not hot or cold, I am about to spit yoʋ out of my mouth.
17 あなたは、自分は富んでいる、豊かになった、なんの不自由もないと言っているが、実は、あなた自身がみじめな者、あわれむべき者、貧しい者、目の見えない者、裸な者であることに気がついていない。
For yoʋ say, “I am rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,” but yoʋ do not realize that yoʋ are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
18 そこで、あなたに勧める。富む者となるために、わたしから火で精錬された金を買い、また、あなたの裸の恥をさらさないため身に着けるように、白い衣を買いなさい。また、見えるようになるため、目にぬる目薬を買いなさい。
I counsel yoʋ to buy from me gold refined by fire so that yoʋ may be rich, and white garments so that yoʋ may clothe yoʋrself and the shame of yoʋr nakedness may not be revealed, and eye salve to anoint yoʋr eyes so that yoʋ may see.
19 すべてわたしの愛している者を、わたしはしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって悔い改めなさい。
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent.
20 見よ、わたしは戸の外に立って、たたいている。だれでもわたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしはその中にはいって彼と食を共にし、彼もまたわたしと食を共にするであろう。
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.
21 勝利を得る者には、わたしと共にわたしの座につかせよう。それはちょうど、わたしが勝利を得てわたしの父と共にその御座についたのと同様である。
To him who overcomes I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.
22 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』」。
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’”
