詩篇 59
1 聖歌隊の指揮者によって、「滅ぼすな」というしらべにあわせてうたわせたダビデのミクタムの歌。これはサウルがダビデを殺そうとして人をつかわし、その家をうかがわせたときダビデのよんだもの わが神よ、どうかわたしをわが敵から助け出し、わたしに逆らって起りたつ者からお守りください。
Deliver me from my enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 悪を行う者からわたしを助け出し、血を流す人からわたしをお救いください。
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 見よ、彼らはひそみかくれて、わたしの命をうかがい、力ある人々が共に集まってわたしを攻めます。主よ、わたしにとがも罪もなく、
For, see, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
4 わたしにあやまちもないのに、彼らは走りまわって備えをします。わたしを助けるために目をさまして、ごらんください。
They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5 万軍の神、主よ、あなたはイスラエルの神です。目をさまして、もろもろの国民を罰し、悪をたくらむ者どもに、あわれみを施さないでください。 (セラ)
You therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. (Selah)
6 彼らは夕ごとに帰ってきて、犬のようにほえて町をあさりまわる。
They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
7 見よ、彼らはその口をもってほえ叫び、そのくちびるをもってうなり、「だれが聞くものか」と言う。
Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, does hear?
8 しかし、主よ、あなたは彼らを笑い、もろもろの国民をあざけり笑われる。
But you, O LORD, shall laugh at them; you shall have all the heathen in derision.
9 わが力よ、わたしはあなたにむかってほめ歌います。神よ、あなたはわたしの高きやぐらです。
Because of his strength will I wait on you: for God is my defense.
10 わが神はそのいつくしみをもってわたしを迎えられる。わが神はわたしに敵の敗北を見させられる。
The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire on my enemies.
11 どうぞ、わが民の忘れることのないために、彼らを殺さないでください。主、われらの盾よ、み力をもって彼らをよろめかせ、彼らを倒れさせないでください。
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by your power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 彼らの口の罪、そのくちびるの言葉のために彼らをその高ぶりに捕われさせてください。彼らが語るのろいと偽りのために
For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 憤りをもって彼らを滅ぼし、もはやながらえることのないまでに、彼らを滅ぼしてください。そうすれば地のはてまで、人々は神がヤコブを治められることを知るに至るでしょう。 (セラ)
Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God rules in Jacob to the ends of the earth. (Selah)
14 彼らは夕ごとに帰ってきて、犬のようにほえて町をあさりまわる。
And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 彼らは食い物のためにあるきまわり、飽くことを得なければ怒りうなる。
Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.
16 しかし、わたしはあなたのみ力をうたい、朝には声をあげてみいつくしみを歌います。あなたはわたしの悩みの日にわが高きやぐらとなり、わたしの避け所となられたからです。
But I will sing of your power; yes, I will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning: for you have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 わが力よ、わたしはあなたにむかってほめうたいます。神よ、あなたはわが高きやぐら、わたしにいつくしみを賜わる神であられるからです。
To you, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.
