詩篇 52

1 聖歌隊の指揮者によってうたわせたダビデのマスキールの歌。これはエドムびとドエグがサウルにきて、「ダビデはアヒメレクの家にきた」と告げたときにダビデがよんだもの 力ある者よ、何ゆえあなたは神を敬う人に与えた災について誇るのか。あなたはひねもす人を滅ぼすことをたくらむ。

For the chief musician. A maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.” Why are you proud of making trouble, you mighty man? The covenant faithfulness of God comes every day.

2 虚偽を行う者よ、あなたの舌は鋭いかみそりのようだ。

Your tongue plans destruction like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3 あなたは善よりも悪を好み、まことを語るよりも偽りを語ることを好む。 (セラ)

You love evil more than good and lying rather than speaking righteousness. (Selah)

4 欺きの舌よ、あなたはすべての滅ぼす言葉を好む。

You love all words that devour others, you deceitful tongue.

5 しかし神はとこしえにあなたを砕き、あなたを捕えて、その天幕から引き離し、生ける者の地から、あなたの根を絶やされる。 (セラ)

God will likewise destroy you forever; he will take you up and pluck you out of your tent and root you out of the land of the living. (Selah)

6 正しい者はこれを見て恐れ、彼を笑って言うであろう、

The righteous will also see it and fear; they will laugh at him and say,

7 「神をおのが避け所とせず、その富の豊かなるを頼み、その宝に寄り頼む人を見よ」と。

“See, this is a man who did not make God his refuge, but he trusted in the abundance of his wealth, and he was strong when he destroyed others.”

8 しかし、わたしは神の家にある緑のオリブの木のようだ。わたしは世々かぎりなく神のいつくしみを頼む。

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God's house; I will trust in the covenant faithfulness of God forever and ever.

9 あなたがこの事をなされたので、わたしはとこしえに、あなたに感謝し、聖徒の前であなたのみ名をふれ示そう。これはよいことだからである。

I will give you thanks forever for what you have done. I will wait for your name, because it is good, in the presence of your godly people.
