詩篇 4
1 聖歌隊の指揮者によって琴にあわせてうたわせたダビデの歌 わたしの義を助け守られる神よ、わたしが呼ばわる時、お答えください。あなたはわたしが悩んでいた時、わたしをくつろがせてくださいました。わたしをあわれみ、わたしの祈をお聞きください。
Unto the end, in verses. A psalm for David. When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.
2 人の子らよ、いつまでわたしの誉をはずかしめるのか。いつまでむなしい言葉を愛し、偽りを慕い求めるのか。 (セラ)
O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?
3 しかしあなたがたは知るがよい、主は神を敬う人をご自分のために聖別されたことを。主はわたしが呼ばわる時におききくださる。
Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.
4 あなたがたは怒っても、罪を犯してはならない。床の上で静かに自分の心に語りなさい。 (セラ)
Be angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.
5 義のいけにえをささげて主に寄り頼みなさい。
Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?
6 多くの人は言う、「どうか、わたしたちに良い事が見られるように。主よ、どうか、み顔の光をわたしたちの上に照されるように」と。
The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.
7 あなたがわたしの心にお与えになった喜びは、穀物と、ぶどう酒の豊かな時の喜びにまさるものでした。
By the fruit of their corn, their wine and oil, they are multiplied.
8 わたしは安らかに伏し、また眠ります。主よ、わたしを安らかにおらせてくださるのは、ただあなただけです。
In peace in the selfsame I will sleep, and I will rest: For thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope.
