詩篇 20

1 聖歌隊の指揮者によってうたわせたダビデの歌 主が悩みの日にあなたに答え、ヤコブの神のみ名があなたを守られるように。

“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

2 主が聖所から助けをあなたにおくり、シオンからあなたをささえ、

May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;

3 あなたのもろもろの供え物をみ心にとめ、あなたの燔祭をうけられるように。 (セラ)

May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)

4 主があなたの心の願いをゆるし、あなたのはかりごとをことごとく遂げさせられるように。

May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.

5 われらがあなたの勝利を喜びうたい、われらの神のみ名によって旗を揚げるように。主があなたの求めをすべて遂げさせられるように。

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

6 今わたしは知る、主はその油そそがれた者を助けられることを。主はその右の手による大いなる勝利をもってその聖なる天から彼に答えられるであろう。

Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 ある者は戦車を誇り、ある者は馬を誇る。しかしわれらは、われらの神、主のみ名を誇る。

Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.

8 彼らはかがみ、また倒れる。しかしわれらは起きて、まっすぐに立つ。

They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.

9 主よ、王に勝利をおさずけください。われらが呼ばわる時、われらにお答えください。

O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].
