詩篇 12

1 聖歌隊の指揮者によってシェミニテにあわせてうたわせたダビデの歌 主よ、お助けください。神を敬う人は絶え、忠信な者は人の子らのなかから消えうせました。

For the Leader; on the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2 人はみなその隣り人に偽りを語り、へつらいのくちびると、ふたごころとをもって語る。

They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour; with flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

3 主はすべてのへつらいのくちびると、大きな事を語る舌とを断たれるように。

May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things!

4 彼らは言う、「わたしたちは舌をもって勝を得よう、わたしたちのくちびるはわたしたちのものだ、だれがわたしたちの主人であるか」と。

Who have said: 'Our tongue will we make mighty; our lips are with us: who is lord over us?'

5 主は言われる、「貧しい者がかすめられ、乏しい者が嘆くゆえに、わたしはいま立ちあがって、彼らをその慕い求める安全な所に置こう」と。

'For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise', saith the LORD; 'I will set him in safety at whom they puff.'

6 主のことばは清き言葉である。地に設けた炉で練り、七たびきよめた銀のようである。

The words of the LORD are pure words, as silver tried in a crucible on the earth, refined seven times.

7 主よ、われらを保ち、とこしえにこの人々から免れさせてください。

Thou wilt keep them, O LORD; Thou wilt preserve us from this generation for ever.

8 卑しい事が人の子のなかにあがめられている時、悪しき者はいたる所でほしいままに歩いています。

The wicked walk on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
