詩篇 104
1 わがたましいよ、主をほめよ。わが神、主よ、あなたはいとも大いにして誉と威厳とを着、
Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour;
2 光を衣のようにまとい、天を幕のように張り、
Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; —
3 水の上におのが高殿のうつばりをおき、雲をおのれのいくさ車とし、風の翼に乗りあるき、
Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
4 風をおのれの使者とし、火と炎をおのれのしもべとされる。
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire.
5 あなたは地をその基の上にすえて、とこしえに動くことのないようにされた。
He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever.
6 あなたはこれを衣でおおうように大水でおおわれた。水はたたえて山々の上を越えた。
Thou hadst covered it with the deep, as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains:
7 あなたのとがめによって水は退き、あなたの雷の声によって水は逃げ去った。
At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; —
8 山は立ちあがり、谷はあなたが定められた所に沈んだ。
The mountains rose, the valleys sank, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them; —
9 あなたは水に境を定めて、これを越えさせず、再び地をおおうことのないようにされた。
Thou hast set a bound which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to cover the earth.
10 あなたは泉を谷にわき出させ、それを山々の間に流れさせ、
He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains;
11 野のもろもろの獣に飲ませられる。野のろばもそのかわきをいやす。
They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
12 空の鳥もそのほとりに住み、こずえの間にさえずり歌う。
The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches.
13 あなたはその高殿からもろもろの山に水を注がれる。地はあなたのみわざの実をもって満たされる。
He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
14 あなたは家畜のために草をはえさせ、また人のためにその栽培する植物を与えて、地から食物を出させられる。
He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth,
15 すなわち人の心を喜ばすぶどう酒、その顔をつややかにする油、人の心を強くするパンなどである。
And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making [his] face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man's heart.
16 主の木と、主がお植えになったレバノンの香柏とは豊かに潤され、
The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted,
17 鳥はその中に巣をつくり、こうのとりはもみの木をそのすまいとする。
Where the birds make their nests; [as for] the stork, the fir trees are her house.
18 高き山はやぎのすまい、岩は岩だぬきの隠れる所である。
The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.
19 あなたは月を造って季節を定められた。日はその入る時を知っている。
He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down.
20 あなたは暗やみを造って夜とされた。その時、林の獣は皆忍び出る。
Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:
21 若きししはほえてえさを求め、神に食物を求める。
The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from God.
22 日が出ると退いて、その穴に寝る。
The sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens.
23 人は出てわざにつき、その勤労は夕べに及ぶ。
Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening.
24 主よ、あなたのみわざはいかに多いことであろう。あなたはこれらをみな知恵をもって造られた。地はあなたの造られたもので満ちている。
How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25 かしこに大いなる広い海がある。その中に無数のもの、大小の生き物が満ちている。
Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great.
26 そこに舟が走り、あなたが造られたレビヤタンはその中に戯れる。
There go the ships; [there] that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein.
27 彼らは皆あなたが時にしたがって食物をお与えになるのを期待している。
These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season:
28 あなたがお与えになると、彼らはそれを集める。あなたが手を開かれると、彼らは良い物で満たされる。
That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.
29 あなたがみ顔を隠されると、彼らはあわてふためく。あなたが彼らの息を取り去られると、彼らは死んでちりに帰る。
Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.
30 あなたが霊を送られると、彼らは造られる。あなたは地のおもてを新たにされる。
Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31 どうか、主の栄光がとこしえにあるように。主がそのみわざを喜ばれるように。
The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works.
32 主が地を見られると、地は震い、山に触れられると、煙をいだす。
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
33 わたしは生きるかぎり、主にむかって歌い、ながらえる間はわが神をほめ歌おう。
I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God while I have my being.
34 どうか、わたしの思いが主に喜ばれるように。わたしは主によって喜ぶ。
My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah.
35 どうか、罪びとが地から断ち滅ぼされ、悪しき者が、もはや、いなくなるように。わがたましいよ、主をほめよ。主をほめたたえよ。
Sinners shall be consumed out of the earth, and the wicked shall be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Hallelujah!
