箴言 知恵の泉 7
1 わが子よ、わたしの言葉を守り、わたしの戒めをあなたの心にたくわえよ。
My son, keep my words and store up my commands within yourself.
2 わたしの戒めを守って命を得よ、わたしの教を守ること、ひとみを守るようにせよ。
Keep my commands and live and keep my instruction as the apple of your eye.
3 これをあなたの指にむすび、これをあなたの心の碑にしるせ。
Tie them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 知恵に向かって、「あなたはわが姉妹だ」と言い、悟りに向かっては、あなたの友と呼べ。
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your kinsman,
5 そうすれば、これはあなたを守って遊女に迷わせず、言葉巧みな、みだらな女に近づかせない。
in order to keep yourself from the adulterous woman, from the immoral woman with her smooth words.
6 わたしはわが家の窓により、格子窓から外をのぞいて、
At the window of my house I was looking out through the lattice.
7 思慮のない者のうちに、若い者のうちに、ひとりの知恵のない若者のいるのを見た。
I looked at the naive people, and I noticed among the young men a youth who had no sense.
8 彼はちまたを過ぎ、女の家に行く曲りかどに近づき、その家に行く道を、
That young man passed down the street near her corner, and he went toward her house.
9 たそがれに、よいに、また夜中に、また暗やみに歩いていった。
It was twilight, in the evening of the day, at the time of night and darkness.
10 見よ、遊女の装いをした陰険な女が彼に会う。
There a woman met him, dressed like a prostitute, with a false heart.
11 この女は、騒がしくて、慎みなく、その足は自分の家にとどまらず、
She was loud and wayward; her feet did not stay at home.
12 ある時はちまたにあり、ある時は市場にあり、すみずみに立って人をうかがう。
Now in the streets, then in the market place, and at every corner she waited in ambush.
13 この女は彼を捕えて口づけし、恥しらぬ顔で彼に言う、
So she grabbed him and kissed him, with a strong face she said to him,
14 「わたしは酬恩祭をささげなければならなかったが、きょう、その誓いを果しました。
“I made my peace offering today, I paid my vows,
15 それでわたしはあなたを迎えようと出て、あなたを尋ね、あなたに会いました。
so came I out to meet you, to eagerly seek your face, and I have found you.
16 わたしは床に美しい、しとねと、エジプトのあや布を敷き、
I have spread coverings on my bed, colored linens from Egypt.
17 没薬、ろかい、桂皮をもってわたしの床をにおわせました。
I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 さあ、わたしたちは夜が明けるまで、情をつくし、愛をかわして楽しみましょう。
Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning; let us take great pleasure in acts of love.
19 夫は家にいません、遠くへ旅立ち、
For my husband is not at his house; he has gone on a long journey.
20 手に金袋を持って出ました。満月になるまでは帰りません」と。
He took a bag of money with him; he will return on the day of the full moon.”
21 女が多くの、なまめかしい言葉をもって彼を惑わし、巧みなくちびるをもって、いざなうと、
With much talk she turned him; with her smooth lips she misled him.
22 若い人は直ちに女に従った、あたかも牛が、ほふり場に行くように、雄じかが、すみやかに捕えられ、
He went after her suddenly like an ox going to slaughter, like a deer caught in a trap,
23 ついに、矢がその内臓を突き刺すように、鳥がすみやかに網にかかるように、彼は自分が命を失うようになることを知らない。
until an arrow pierces through its liver. He was like a bird rushing into a snare. He did not know that it would cost his life.
24 子供らよ、今わたしの言うことを聞き、わが口の言葉に耳を傾けよ。
Now, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to the words of my mouth.
25 あなたの心を彼女の道に傾けてはならない、またその道に迷ってはならない。
May your heart not turn aside onto her paths; do not be led astray onto her paths.
26 彼女は多くの人を傷つけて倒した、まことに、彼女に殺された者は多い。
She has caused many people to fall down pierced; her dead victims are very many.
