箴言 知恵の泉 21
1 王の心は、主の手のうちにあって、水の流れのようだ、主はみこころのままにこれを導かれる。 王の心は、主の手のうちにあって、水の流れのようだ、主はみこころのままにこれを導かれる。
As streams of water, So is the heart of the king in the hand of the LORD; He turneth it whithersoever he will.
2 人の道は自分の目には正しく見える、しかし主は人の心をはかられる。 人の道は自分の目には正しく見える、しかし主は人の心をはかられる。
All the ways of a man are right in his own eyes; But the LORD weigheth the heart.
3 正義と公平を行うことは、犠牲にもまさって主に喜ばれる。 正義と公平を行うことは、犠牲にもまさって主に喜ばれる。
To do justice and equity Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 高ぶる目とおごる心とは、悪しき人のともしびであって、罪である。 高ぶる目とおごる心とは、悪しき人のともしびであって、罪である。
The lofty look, the proud heart, The lamp of the wicked, is ruin.
5 勤勉な人の計画は、ついにその人を豊かにする、すべて怠るものは貧しくなる。 勤勉な人の計画は、ついにその人を豊かにする、すべて怠るものは貧しくなる。
The plans of the diligent tend only to plenty; But the hasty hasteneth only to want.
6 偽りの舌をもって宝を得るのは、吹きはらわれる煙、死のわなである。 偽りの舌をもって宝を得るのは、吹きはらわれる煙、死のわなである。
The getting of treasures by a false tongue Is the fleeting breath of them that seek death.
7 悪しき者の暴虐はその身を滅ぼす、彼らは公平を行うことを好まないからである。 悪しき者の暴虐はその身を滅ぼす、彼らは公平を行うことを好まないからである。
The rapine of the wicked shall snatch them away, Because they refuse to do justice.
8 罪びとの道は曲っている、潔白な人の行いはまっすぐである。 罪びとの道は曲っている、潔白な人の行いはまっすぐである。
The way of the guilty man is crooked; But he that is pure, his doings are right.
9 争いを好む女と一緒に家におるよりは屋根のすみにおるほうがよい。 争いを好む女と一緒に家におるよりは屋根のすみにおるほうがよい。
Better is it to dwell in a corner of the housetop Than with a brawling woman in a large house.
10 悪しき者の魂は悪を行うことを願う、その隣り人にも好意をもって見られない。 悪しき者の魂は悪を行うことを願う、その隣り人にも好意をもって見られない。
The soul of the wicked longeth to do evil; His neighbor findeth no compassion in his eyes.
11 あざけるものが罰をうけるならば、思慮のない者は知恵を得る。知恵ある者が教をうけるならば知識を得る。 あざけるものが罰をうけるならば、思慮のない者は知恵を得る。知恵ある者が教をうけるならば知識を得る。
When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; When the wise man is taught, he receiveth knowledge.
12 正しい神は、悪しき者の家をみとめて、悪しき者を滅びに投げいれられる。 正しい神は、悪しき者の家をみとめて、悪しき者を滅びに投げいれられる。
The righteous man hath regard to the house of the wicked; He casteth the wicked headlong into ruin.
13 耳を閉じて貧しい者の呼ぶ声を聞かない者は、自分が呼ぶときに、聞かれない。 耳を閉じて貧しい者の呼ぶ声を聞かない者は、自分が呼ぶときに、聞かれない。
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry aloud, but shall not be heard.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.
15 公義を行うことは、正しい者には喜びであるが、悪を行う者には滅びである。 公義を行うことは、正しい者には喜びであるが、悪を行う者には滅びである。
To do justice shall be joy to the righteous; But destruction is for them that do iniquity.
16 悟りの道を離れる人は、死人の集会の中におる。 悟りの道を離れる人は、死人の集会の中におる。
A man who wandereth from the way of discretion Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.
17 快楽を好む者は貧しい人となり、酒と油とを好む者は富むことがない。 快楽を好む者は貧しい人となり、酒と油とを好む者は富むことがない。
He that loveth pleasure will be a poor man; He that loveth wine and oil will not be rich.
18 悪しき者は正しい者のあがないとなり、不信実な者は正しい人に代る。 悪しき者は正しい者のあがないとなり、不信実な者は正しい人に代る。
The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous! And in the room of the upright shall be the transgressor.
19 争い怒る女と共におるよりは、荒野に住むほうがましだ。 争い怒る女と共におるよりは、荒野に住むほうがましだ。
It is better to dwell in a desert land Than with a contentious and fretful woman.
20 知恵ある者の家には尊い宝があり、愚かな人はこれを、のみ尽す。 知恵ある者の家には尊い宝があり、愚かな人はこれを、のみ尽す。
Precious treasure and oil are in the dwelling of the wise; But the foolish man swalloweth them up.
21 正義といつくしみとを追い求める者は、命と誉とを得る。 正義といつくしみとを追い求める者は、命と誉とを得る。
He who followeth after righteousness and mercy Shall find life, prosperity, and honor.
22 知恵ある者は強い者の城にのぼって、その頼みとするとりでをくずす。 知恵ある者は強い者の城にのぼって、その頼みとするとりでをくずす。
A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, And bringeth down the strength in which it trusted.
23 口と舌とを守る者はその魂を守って、悩みにあわせない。 口と舌とを守る者はその魂を守って、悩みにあわせない。
Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from trouble.
24 高ぶりおごる者を「あざける者」となづける、彼は高慢無礼な行いをするものである。 高ぶりおごる者を「あざける者」となづける、彼は高慢無礼な行いをするものである。
The proud and haughty, —scoffer is his name; He acteth with haughty arrogance.

The desire of the sluggard will destroy him; For his hands refuse to labor.

The covetous man coveteth all the day long; But the righteous man giveth, and doth not withhold.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; How much more when he bringeth it with an evil design!

A false witness shall perish; But a man that hearkeneth shall speak forever.

The wicked man hardeneth his face; But the upright directeth his way.
30 主に向かっては知恵も悟りも、計りごとも、なんの役にも立たない。 主に向かっては知恵も悟りも、計りごとも、なんの役にも立たない。
Wisdom is nothing, and understanding is nothing, And devices are nothing, against the LORD.
31 戦いの日のために馬を備える、しかし勝利は主による。 戦いの日のために馬を備える、しかし勝利は主による。
The horse is prepared for the day of battle; But victory is from the LORD.
