民数記 26
1 疫病の後、主はモーセと祭司アロンの子エレアザルとに言われた、
And it came to pass after the plague, That the Lord spoke unto Moses and unto Elazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2 「イスラエルの人々の全会衆の総数をその父祖の家にしたがって調べ、イスラエルにおいて、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者を数えなさい」。
Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by the descent from their fathers, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.
3 そこでモーセと祭司エレアザルとは、エリコに近いヨルダンのほとりにあるモアブの平野で彼らに言った、
And Moses with El'azar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho, saying,
4 「主がモーセに命じられたように、あなたがたのうちの二十歳以上の者を数えなさい」。エジプトの地から出てきたイスラエルの人々は次のとおりである。
[Take the sum of the people, ] from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.
5 ルベンはイスラエルの長子である。ルベンの子孫は、ヘノクからヘノクびとの氏族が出、パルからパルびとの氏族が出、
Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben, of Chanoch, the family of the Chanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
6 ヘヅロンからヘヅロンびとの氏族が出、カルミからカルミびとの氏族が出た。
Of Chezron, the family of the Chezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7 これらはルベンびとの氏族であって、数えられた者は四万三千七百三十人であった。
These are the families of the Reubenites; and those that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
8 またパルの子はエリアブ。
And the sons of Pallu: Eliab.
9 エリアブの子はネムエル、ダタン、アビラムである。このダタンとアビラムとは会衆のうちから選び出された者で、コラのともがらと共にモーセとアロンとに逆らって主と争った時、
And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram, men called to the assembly, who quarreled against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korach, at the time they quarreled against the Lord;
10 地は口を開いて彼らとコラとをのみ、その仲間は死んだ。その時二百五十人が火に焼き滅ぼされて、戒めの鏡となった。
When the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korach, while that company died, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.
11 ただし、コラの子たちは死ななかった。
But the sons of Korach did not die.
12 シメオンの子孫は、その氏族によれば、ネムエルからネムエルびとの氏族が出、ヤミンからヤミンびとの氏族が出、ヤキンからヤキンびとの氏族が出、
The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Yamin, the family of the Yaminites; of Yachin, the family of the Yachinites;
13 ゼラからゼラびとの氏族が出、シャウルからシャウルびとの氏族が出た。
Of Zerach, the family of the Zarchites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
14 これらはシメオンびとの氏族であって、数えられた者は二万二千二百人であった。
These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
15 ガドの子孫は、その氏族によれば、ゼポンからゼポンびとの氏族が出、ハギからハギびとの氏族が出、シュニからシュニびとの氏族が出、
The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Chaggi, the family of the Chaggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
16 オズニからオズニびとの氏族が出、エリからエリびとの氏族が出、
Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of 'Eri, the family of the 'Erites;
17 アロドからアロドびとの氏族が出、アレリからアレリびとの氏族が出た。
Of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites;
18 これらはガドの子孫の氏族であって、数えられた者は四万五百人であった。
These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19 ユダの子らはエルとオナンとであって、エルとオナンとはカナンの地で死んだ。
The sons of Judah were 'Er and Onan; and 'Er with Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20 ユダの子孫は、その氏族によれば、シラからシラびとの氏族が出、ペレヅからペレヅびとの氏族が出、ゼラからゼラびとの氏族が出た。
And the sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerach, the family of the Zarchites.
21 ペレヅの子孫は、ヘヅロンからヘヅロンびとの氏族が出、ハムルからハムルびとの氏族が出た。
And the sons of Perez were: of Chezron, the family of the Chezronites; of Chamul, the family of the Chamulites.
22 これらはユダの氏族であって、数えられた者は七万六千五百人であった。
These are the families of Judah, according to those that were numbered of them, seventy and six thousand and five hundred.
23 イッサカルの子孫は、その氏族によれば、トラからトラびとの氏族が出、プワからプワびとの氏族が出、
The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola', the family of the Tola'ites; of Puva, the family of the Punites;
24 ヤシュブからヤシュブびとの氏族が出、シムロンからシムロンびとの氏族が出た。
Of Yashub, the family of the Yashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
25 これらはイッサカルの氏族であって、数えられた者は六万四千三百人であった。
These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, sixty and four thousand and three hundred.
26 ゼブルンの子孫は、その氏族によれば、セレデからセレデびとの氏族が出、エロンからエロンびとの氏族が出、ヤリエルからヤリエルびとの氏族が出た。
The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Yachleel, the family of the Yachleelites.
27 これらはゼブルンびとの氏族であって、数えられた者は六万五百人であった。
These are the families of the Zebulonites according to those that were numbered of them, sixty thousand and five hundred.
28 ヨセフの子らは、その氏族によれば、マナセとエフライムとであって、
The sons of Joseph after their families are Menasseh and Ephraim.
29 マナセの子孫は、マキルからマキルびとの氏族が出た。マキルからギレアデが生れ、ギレアデからギレアデびとの氏族が出た。
The sons of Menasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir begat Gil'ad; of Gil'ad, the family of the Gil'adites.
30 ギレアデの子孫は次のとおりである。イエゼルからイエゼルびとの氏族が出、ヘレクからヘレクびとの氏族が出、
These are the sons of Gil'ad: of I'ezer, the family of the I'ezerites; of Chelek, the family of the Chelkites;
31 アスリエルからアスリエルびとの氏族が出、シケムからシケムびとの氏族が出、
And of Assriel, the family of the Assrielites; and of Shechem, the family of the Shichmites;
32 セミダからセミダびとの氏族が出、ヘペルからヘペルびとの氏族が出た。
And of Shemida', the family of the Shemida'ites; and of Chepher, the family of the Chephrites.
33 ヘペルの子ゼロペハデには男の子がなく、ただ女の子のみで、ゼロペハデの女の子の名はマアラ、ノア、ホグラ、ミルカ、テルザといった。
And Zelophehad the son of Chepher had no sons, but only daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Machlah, and No'ah, Choglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34 これらはマナセの氏族であって、数えられた者は五万二千七百人であった。
These are the families of Menasseh; and those that were numbered of them were fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
35 エフライムの子孫は、その氏族によれば、次のとおりである。シュテラからはシュテラびとの氏族が出、ベケルからベケルびとの氏族が出、タハンからタハンびとの氏族が出た。
These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelach, the family of the Shuthalchites; of Becher, the family of the Bachrites; of Tachan, the family of the Tachanites.
36 またシュテラの子孫は次のとおりである。すなわちエランからエランびとの氏族が出た。
And these are the sons of Shuthelach: of 'Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37 これらはエフライムの子孫の氏族であって、数えられた者は三万二千五百人であった。以上はヨセフの子孫で、その氏族によるものである。
These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred: these are the sons of Joseph after their families.
38 ベニヤミンの子孫は、その氏族によれば、ベラからベラびとの氏族が出、アシベルからアシベルびとの氏族が出、アヒラムからアヒラムびとの氏族が出、
The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela', the family of the Bal'ites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Achiram, the family of the Achiramites;
39 シュパムからシュパムびとの氏族が出、ホパムからホパムびとの氏族が出た。
Of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Chupham, the family of the Chuphamites.
40 ベラの子はアルデとナアマンとであって、アルデからアルデびとの氏族が出、ナアマンからナアマンびとの氏族が出た。
And the sons of Bela' were Ard and Na'aman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites; and of Na'aman, the family of the Na'amites.
41 これらはベニヤミンの子孫であって、その氏族によれば数えられた者は四万五千六百人であった。
These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and those that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
42 ダンの子孫は、その氏族によれば、次のとおりである。シュハムからシュハムびとの氏族が出た。これらはダンの氏族であって、その氏族によるものである。
These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shucham, the family of the Shuchamites; these are the families of Dan after their families.
43 シュハムびとのすべての氏族のうち、数えられた者は六万四千四百人であった。
All the families of the Shuchamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were sixty and four thousand and four hundred.
44 アセルの子孫は、その氏族によれば、エムナからエムナびとの氏族が出、エスイからエスイびとの氏族が出、ベリアからベリアびとの氏族が出た。
The children of Asher after their families: of Yimnah, the family of the Yimnites; of Yishvi, the family of the Yishvites; of Beri'ah, the family of the Beri'ites.
45 ベリアの子孫のうちヘベルからヘベルびとの氏族が出、マルキエルからマルキエルびとの氏族が出た。
Of the sons of Beri'ah: of Cheber, the family of the Chebrites; of Malkiel, the family of the Makielites.
46 アセルの娘の名はサラといった。
And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serach.
47 これらはアセルの子孫の氏族であって、数えられた者は五万三千四百人であった。
These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
48 ナフタリの子孫は、その氏族によれば、ヤジエルからヤジエルびとの氏族が出、グニからグニびとの氏族が出、
The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Yachzeel, the family of the Yachzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;
49 エゼルからエゼルびとの氏族が出、シレムからシレムびとの氏族が出た。
Of Yezer, the family of the Yizrites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50 これらはナフタリの氏族であって、その氏族により、数えられた者は四万五千四百人であった。
These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
51 これらはイスラエルの子孫の数えられた者であって、六十万一千百三十人であった。
These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand, and one thousand, seven hundred and thirty.
52 主はモーセに言われた、
And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
53 「これらの人々に、その名の数にしたがって地を分け与え、嗣業とさせなさい。
Unto these shall the land be divided for an inheritance according to the number of the names.
54 大きい部族には多くの嗣業を与え、小さい部族には少しの嗣業を与えなさい。すなわち数えられた数にしたがって、おのおのの部族にその嗣業を与えなければならない。
To the large tribe shalt thou give the more inheritance, and to the small shalt thou give the less inheritance: to each according to those that were numbered thereof shall its inheritance be given.
55 ただし地は、くじをもって分け、その父祖の部族の名にしたがって、それを継がなければならない。
Nevertheless, through the lot shall the land be divided: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers shall they obtain their inheritance.
56 すなわち、くじをもってその嗣業を大きいものと、小さいものとに分けなければならない」。
By the decision of the lot shall the inheritance of each be divided, according as they are many or few.
57 レビびとのその氏族にしたがって数えられた者は次のとおりである。ゲルションからゲルションびとの氏族が出、コハテからコハテびとの氏族が出、メラリからメラリびとの氏族が出た。
And these are those that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershunites: of Kehath, the family of the Kehathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58 レビの氏族は次のとおりである。すなわちリブニびとの氏族、ヘブロンびとの氏族、マヘリびとの氏族、ムシびとの氏族、コラびとの氏族であって、コハテからアムラムが生れた。
These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Chebronites, the family of the Machlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korchites; and Kehath begat 'Amran.
59 アムラムの妻の名はヨケベデといって、レビの娘である。彼女はエジプトでレビに生れた者であるが、アムラムにとついで、アロンとモーセおよびその姉妹ミリアムを産んだ。
And the name of 'Amram's wife was Yochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom [her mother] bore to Levi in Egypt; and she bore unto Amram, Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60 アロンにはナダブ、アビウ、エレアザルおよびイタマルが生れた。
And there were born unto Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, Elazar, and Ithamar.
61 ナダブとアビウは異火を主の前にささげた時に死んだ。
And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered a strange fire before the Lord.
62 その数えられた一か月以上のすべての男子は二万三千人であった。彼らはイスラエルの人々のうちに嗣業を与えられなかったため、イスラエルの人々のうちに数えられなかった者である。
And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all the males from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was not given unto them any inheritance among the children of Israel.
63 これらはモーセと祭司エレアザルが、エリコに近いヨルダンのほとりにあるモアブの平野で数えたイスラエルの人々の数である。
These are those that were numbered by Moses and Elazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, opposite Jericho.
64 ただしそのうちには、モーセと祭司アロンがシナイの荒野でイスラエルの人々を数えた時に数えられた者はひとりもなかった。
And among these there was not one man of those whom Moses and Aaron the priest had numbered, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65 それは主がかつて彼らについて「彼らは必ず荒野で死ぬであろう」と言われたからである。それで彼らのうちエフンネの子カレブとヌンの子ヨシュアのほか、ひとりも残った者はなかった。
For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness: and there was not left of them one man, save Caleb the son of Yephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
