マタイの福音書 24
1 イエスが宮から出て行こうとしておられると、弟子たちは近寄ってきて、宮の建物にイエスの注意を促した。
Jesus had left the Temple and was going on His way, when His disciples came and called His attention to the Temple buildings.
2 そこでイエスは彼らにむかって言われた、「あなたがたは、これらすべてのものを見ないか。よく言っておく。その石一つでもくずされずに、そこに他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。
"You see all these?" He replied; "in solemn truth I tell you that there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be pulled down."
3 またオリブ山ですわっておられると、弟子たちが、ひそかにみもとにきて言った、「どうぞお話しください。いつ、そんなことが起るのでしょうか。あなたがまたおいでになる時や、世の終りには、どんな前兆がありますか」。 (aiōn g165)
Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?" (aiōn g165)
4 そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。
"Take care that no one misleads you," answered Jesus;
5 多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がキリストだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。
"for many will come assuming my name and saying 'I am the Christ;' and they will mislead many.
6 また、戦争と戦争のうわさとを聞くであろう。注意していなさい、あわててはいけない。それは起らねばならないが、まだ終りではない。
And before long you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Do not be alarmed, for such things must be; but the End is not yet.
7 民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに、ききんが起り、また地震があるであろう。
For nation will rise in arms against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places;
8 しかし、すべてこれらは産みの苦しみの初めである。
but all these miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth.
9 そのとき人々は、あなたがたを苦しみにあわせ、また殺すであろう。またあなたがたは、わたしの名のゆえにすべての民に憎まれるであろう。
"At that time they will deliver you up to punishment and will put you to death; and you will be objects of hatred to all the nations because you are called by my name.
10 そのとき、多くの人がつまずき、また互に裏切り、憎み合うであろう。
Then will many stumble and fall, and they will betray one another and hate one another.
11 また多くのにせ預言者が起って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。
Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray;
12 また不法がはびこるので、多くの人の愛が冷えるであろう。
and because of the prevalent disregard of God's law the love of the great majority will grow cold;
13 しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。
but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved.
14 そしてこの御国の福音は、すべての民に対してあかしをするために、全世界に宣べ伝えられるであろう。そしてそれから最後が来るのである。
And this Good News of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world to set the evidence before all the Gentiles; and then the End will come.
15 預言者ダニエルによって言われた荒らす憎むべき者が、聖なる場所に立つのを見たならば（読者よ、悟れ）、
"When you have seen (to use the language of the Prophet Daniel) the 'Abomination of Desolation', standing in the Holy Place" --let the reader observe those words--
16 そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。
"then let those who are in Judaea escape to the hills;
17 屋上にいる者は、家からものを取り出そうとして下におりるな。
let him who is on the roof not go down to fetch what is in his house;
18 畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。
nor let him who is outside the city stay to pick up his outer garment.
19 その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。
And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants!
20 あなたがたの逃げるのが、冬または安息日にならないように祈れ。
"But pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on the Sabbath;
21 その時には、世の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような大きな患難が起るからである。
for it will be a time of great suffering, such as never has been from the beginning of the world till now, and assuredly never will be again.
22 もしその期間が縮められないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選民のためには、その期間が縮められるであろう。
And if those days had not been cut short, no one would escape; but for the sake of God's own People those days will be cut short.
23 そのとき、だれかがあなたがたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』、また、『あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。
"If at that time any one should say to you, 'See, here is the Christ!' or 'Here!' give no credence to it.
24 にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起って、大いなるしるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。
For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying wonderful signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, were it possible, even God's own People.
25 見よ、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。
Remember, I have forewarned you.
26 だから、人々が『見よ、彼は荒野にいる』と言っても、出て行くな。また『見よ、へやの中にいる』と言っても、信じるな。
If therefore they should say to you, 'See, He is in the Desert!' do not go out there: or 'See, He is indoors in the room!' do not believe it.
27 ちょうど、いなずまが東から西にひらめき渡るように、人の子も現れるであろう。
For just as the lightning flashes in the east and is seen to the very west, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man.
28 死体のあるところには、はげたかが集まるものである。
Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures flock together.
29 しかし、その時に起る患難の後、たちまち日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。
"But immediately after those times of distress the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, the stars will fall from the firmament, and the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.
30 そのとき、人の子のしるしが天に現れるであろう。またそのとき、地のすべての民族は嘆き、そして力と大いなる栄光とをもって、人の子が天の雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。
Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory.
31 また、彼は大いなるラッパの音と共に御使たちをつかわして、天のはてからはてに至るまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。
And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet-blast, and they will bring together His own People to Him from north, south, east and west--from one extremity of the world to the other.
32 いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。
"Now learn from the fig-tree the lesson it teaches. As soon as its branches have now become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you all know that summer is near.
33 そのように、すべてこれらのことを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。
So you also, when you see all these signs, may be sure that He is near--at your very door.
34 よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起るまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。
I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.
35 天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。
Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.
36 その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天の御使たちも、また子も知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。
"But as to that day and the exact time no one knows--not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
37 人の子の現れるのも、ちょうどノアの時のようであろう。
'For as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be at the Coming of the Son of Man.
38 すなわち、洪水の出る前、ノアが箱舟にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていた。
At that time, before the Deluge, men were busy eating and drinking, taking wives or giving them, up to the very day when Noah entered the Ark,
39 そして洪水が襲ってきて、いっさいのものをさらって行くまで、彼らは気がつかなかった。人の子の現れるのも、そのようであろう。
nor did they realise any danger till the Deluge came and swept them all away; so will it be at the Coming of the Son of Man.
40 そのとき、ふたりの者が畑にいると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは取り残されるであろう。
Then will two men be in the open country: one will be taken away, and one left behind.
41 ふたりの女がうすをひいていると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは残されるであろう。
Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken away, and one left behind.
42 だから、目をさましていなさい。いつの日にあなたがたの主がこられるのか、あなたがたには、わからないからである。
Be on the alert therefore, for you do not know the day on which your Lord is coming.
43 このことをわきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、目をさましていて、自分の家に押し入ることを許さないであろう。
But of this be assured, that if the master of the house had known the hour at which the robber was coming, he would have kept awake, and not have allowed his house to be broken into.
44 だから、あなたがたも用意をしていなさい。思いがけない時に人の子が来るからである。
Therefore you also must be ready; for it is at a time when you do not expect Him that the Son of Man will come.
45 主人がその家の僕たちの上に立てて、時に応じて食物をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い僕は、いったい、だれであろう。
"Who therefore is the loyal and intelligent servant to whom his master has entrusted the control of his household to give them their rations at the appointed time?
46 主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。
Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes shall find so doing!
47 よく言っておくが、主人は彼を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。
In solemn truth I tell you that he will give him the management of all his wealth.
48 もしそれが悪い僕であって、自分の主人は帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、
But if the man, being a bad servant, should say in his heart, 'My master is a long time in coming,'
49 その僕仲間をたたきはじめ、また酒飲み仲間と一緒に食べたり飲んだりしているなら、
and should begin to beat his fellow servants, while he eats and drinks with drunkards;
50 その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰ってきて、
the master of that servant will arrive on a day when he is not expecting him and at an hour of which he has not been informed;
51 彼を厳罰に処し、偽善者たちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。彼はそこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
he will treat him with the utmost severity and assign him a place among the hypocrites: there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
