マルコの福音書 4
1 イエスはまたも、海べで教えはじめられた。おびただしい群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは舟に乗ってすわったまま、海上におられ、群衆はみな海に沿って陸地にいた。
Once again He began to teach beside the sea. And a large crowd was gathered to Him, so that He got into the boat and sat down, out on the water, while the whole crowd was on the land, at the water's edge.
2 イエスは譬で多くの事を教えられたが、その教の中で彼らにこう言われた、
Then He began teaching them many things by parables and said to them in His teaching:
3 「聞きなさい、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。
“Listen! Yes, a sower went out to sow.
4 まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると、鳥がきて食べてしまった。
And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.
5 ほかの種は土の薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、
Some fell on the rocky area where it did not have much soil, and it sprang up quickly because it had no depth of soil.
6 日が上ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。
But upon the sun's rising it was scorched, and because it had no root it was withered up.
7 ほかの種はいばらの中に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまったので、実を結ばなかった。
And some fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and smothered it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 ほかの種は良い地に落ちた。そしてはえて、育って、ますます実を結び、三十倍、六十倍、百倍にもなった」。
And some fell into the good ground, and coming up and growing it started to produce fruit—yielding thirty times as much, sixty times as much, even a hundred times as much.”
9 そして言われた、「聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」。
Then He said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
10 イエスがひとりになられた時、そばにいた者たちが、十二弟子と共に、これらの譬について尋ねた。
But when He was alone, those who were around Him, with the twelve, asked Him about the parable.
11 そこでイエスは言われた、「あなたがたには神の国の奥義が授けられているが、ほかの者たちには、すべてが譬で語られる。
So He said to them: “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, everything is being given in parables,
12 それは『彼らは見るには見るが、認めず、聞くには聞くが、悟らず、悔い改めてゆるされることがない』ためである」。
so that: ‘Seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; so that they should not return and their sins be forgiven them.’”
13 また彼らに言われた、「あなたがたはこの譬がわからないのか。それでは、どうしてすべての譬がわかるだろうか。
Then He said to them: “Don't you understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?
14 種まきは御言をまくのである。
The sower sows the Word.
15 道ばたに御言がまかれたとは、こういう人たちのことである。すなわち、御言を聞くと、すぐにサタンがきて、彼らの中にまかれた御言を、奪って行くのである。
These are the ones where the Word is sown along the path: as soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the Word that was sown in their hearts.
16 同じように、石地にまかれたものとは、こういう人たちのことである。御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受けるが、
Similarly, these are the ones sown on the rocky area: as soon as they hear the Word they receive it with joy,
17 自分の中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけである。そののち、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
but since they have no root in themselves they are temporary—when oppression or persecution comes because of the Word, they quickly fall away.
18 また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、こういう人たちのことである。御言を聞くが、
And these are the ones sown among the thorns: they hear the Word,
but the worries of this age, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the undue desires for other things come in and smother the Word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 また、良い地にまかれたものとは、こういう人たちのことである。御言を聞いて受けいれ、三十倍、六十倍、百倍の実を結ぶのである」。
And these are the ones sown on the good ground: such people hear the Word, welcome it and produce fruit—thirty times as much, sixty times as much, even a hundred times as much.”
21 また彼らに言われた、「ますの下や寝台の下に置くために、あかりを持ってくることがあろうか。燭台の上に置くためではないか。
Also He said to them: “The lamp is not brought to be put under a box or under a bed, is it? Is it not to be placed on its stand?
22 なんでも、隠されているもので、現れないものはなく、秘密にされているもので、明るみに出ないものはない。
For there is no ‘hidden’ that may not be exposed, nor has anything been concealed but that it should come to light.
23 聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」。
If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
24 また彼らに言われた、「聞くことがらに注意しなさい。あなたがたの量るそのはかりで、自分にも量り与えられ、その上になお増し加えられるであろう。
Then He said to them: “Pay attention to what you hear. With the same measure you use it will be measured to you in return; and to you who hear, more will be added.
25 だれでも、持っている人は更に与えられ、持っていない人は、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう」。
Because whoever has, to him more will be given; whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
26 また言われた、「神の国は、ある人が地に種をまくようなものである。
He also said: “The Kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter the seed on the ground
27 夜昼、寝起きしている間に、種は芽を出して育って行くが、どうしてそうなるのか、その人は知らない。
and should sleep and get up night and day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.
28 地はおのずから実を結ばせるもので、初めに芽、つぎに穂、つぎに穂の中に豊かな実ができる。
All by itself the earth produces fruit: first a shoot, then a head of grain, then full grain in the head.
29 実がいると、すぐにかまを入れる。刈入れ時がきたからである」。
But as soon as the grain is ready, he sends in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
30 また言われた、「神の国を何に比べようか。また、どんな譬で言いあらわそうか。
Again He said: “To what shall we compare the Kingdom of God, or with what sort of parable should we illustrate it?
31 それは一粒のからし種のようなものである。地にまかれる時には、地上のどんな種よりも小さいが、
It is like a mustard seed, that when it is sown on the ground is the smallest of all such seeds,
32 まかれると、成長してどんな野菜よりも大きくなり、大きな枝を張り、その陰に空の鳥が宿るほどになる」。
yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden herbs and produces big branches, so that the birds of the air are able to rest in its shade.”
33 イエスはこのような多くの譬で、人々の聞く力にしたがって、御言を語られた。
It was with many such parables that He was speaking the word to them, as they were able to hear it.
34 譬によらないでは語られなかったが、自分の弟子たちには、ひそかにすべてのことを解き明かされた。
But apart from a parable He did not speak to them; privately, however, He would explain everything to His disciples.
35 さてその日、夕方になると、イエスは弟子たちに、「向こう岸へ渡ろう」と言われた。
On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.”
36 そこで、彼らは群衆をあとに残し、イエスが舟に乗っておられるまま、乗り出した。ほかの舟も一緒に行った。
Since He was already in the boat, they took off with Him, leaving the crowd behind (other little boats were also with Him).
37 すると、激しい突風が起り、波が舟の中に打ち込んできて、舟に満ちそうになった。
Well a strong cyclonic wind came up, such that the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling up.
38 ところがイエス自身は、舳の方でまくらをして、眠っておられた。そこで、弟子たちはイエスをおこして、「先生、わたしどもがおぼれ死んでも、おかまいにならないのですか」と言った。
But He was on the poop deck, sleeping on the cushion; so they awakened Him and said to Him, “Teacher, don't you care that we are perishing?”
39 イエスは起きあがって風をしかり、海にむかって、「静まれ、黙れ」と言われると、風はやんで、大なぎになった。
Then, having been awakened, He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Shut up; be muzzled!” So the wind stopped and there was a complete calm.
40 イエスは彼らに言われた、「なぜ、そんなにこわがるのか。どうして信仰がないのか」。
And He said to them: “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?”
41 彼らは恐れおののいて、互に言った、「いったい、この方はだれだろう。風も海も従わせるとは」。
They were terrified and started saying to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!?”
