ルカの福音書 8
1 そののちイエスは、神の国の福音を説きまた伝えながら、町々村々を巡回し続けられたが、十二弟子もお供をした。
Now it happened after this that He started going around town by town, village by village, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God, and the twelve were with Him;
2 また悪霊を追い出され病気をいやされた数名の婦人たち、すなわち、七つの悪霊を追い出してもらったマグダラと呼ばれるマリヤ、
also certain women who had been healed of malignant spirits and infirmities: Mary (the one called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had gone out;
3 ヘロデの家令クーザの妻ヨハンナ、スザンナ、そのほか多くの婦人たちも一緒にいて、自分たちの持ち物をもって一行に奉仕した。
and Joanna the wife of Chuza, an official of Herod; and Susanna, and many others—these were providing for Him from their substance.
4 さて、大ぜいの群衆が集まり、その上、町々からの人たちがイエスのところに、ぞくぞくと押し寄せてきたので、一つの譬で話をされた、
Now when a large crowd had gathered, with people coming to Him from town after town, He spoke by a parable:
5 「種まきが種をまきに出て行った。まいているうちに、ある種は道ばたに落ち、踏みつけられ、そして空の鳥に食べられてしまった。
“A sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed some fell along the road, and it got trampled, and the birds of the air devoured it.
6 ほかの種は岩の上に落ち、はえはしたが水気がないので枯れてしまった。
And some fell on the rock ledge, and upon sprouting it withered, because it had no moisture.
7 ほかの種は、いばらの間に落ちたので、いばらも一緒に茂ってきて、それをふさいでしまった。
And some fell among thorns, and springing up together the thorns choked it.
8 ところが、ほかの種は良い地に落ちたので、はえ育って百倍もの実を結んだ」。こう語られたのち、声をあげて「聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」と言われた。
The rest fell into the good ground, and growing up it produced fruit a hundredfold.” Upon saying these things He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
9 弟子たちは、この譬はどういう意味でしょうか、とイエスに質問した。
Then His disciples asked Him saying, “What does this parable mean?”
10 そこで言われた、「あなたがたには、神の国の奥義を知ることが許されているが、ほかの人たちには、見ても見えず、聞いても悟られないために、譬で話すのである。
So He said: “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to the rest only in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’
11 この譬はこういう意味である。種は神の言である。
“Now here is the parable: The seed is the Word of God.
12 道ばたに落ちたのは、聞いたのち、信じることも救われることもないように、悪魔によってその心から御言が奪い取られる人たちのことである。
Those along the road are those who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, in order that they not be saved, having believed.
13 岩の上に落ちたのは、御言を聞いた時には喜んで受けいれるが、根が無いので、しばらくは信じていても、試錬の時が来ると、信仰を捨てる人たちのことである。
Those on the rock ledge are the ones who, whenever they hear, receive the word with joy; yet these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of testing fall away.
14 いばらの中に落ちたのは、聞いてから日を過ごすうちに、生活の心づかいや富や快楽にふさがれて、実の熟するまでにならない人たちのことである。
Now that which fell into the thorns: these are the ones who heard, yet as they go they are choked by cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
15 良い地に落ちたのは、御言を聞いたのち、これを正しい良い心でしっかりと守り、耐え忍んで実を結ぶに至る人たちのことである。
But that on the good ground: these are the ones who having heard the word with a noble and good heart, hold on to it and produce fruit with perseverance.”
16 だれもあかりをともして、それを何かの器でおおいかぶせたり、寝台の下に置いたりはしない。燭台の上に置いて、はいって来る人たちに光が見えるようにするのである。
Upon saying these things He called out: “He who has ears to hear, let him hear! No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but he sets it on a lamp stand, so that those who come in may see the light.
17 隠されているもので、あらわにならないものはなく、秘密にされているもので、ついには知られ、明るみに出されないものはない。
Further, there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything concealed that will not be made known and come into the open.
18 だから、どう聞くかに注意するがよい。持っている人は更に与えられ、持っていない人は、持っていると思っているものまでも、取り上げられるであろう」。
So be careful how you hear: Because whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”
19 さて、イエスの母と兄弟たちとがイエスのところにきたが、群衆のためそば近くに行くことができなかった。
Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and they could not get near Him because of the crowd.
20 それで、だれかが「あなたの母上と兄弟がたが、お目にかかろうと思って、外に立っておられます」と取次いだ。
And it was told Him by some saying, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”
21 するとイエスは人々にむかって言われた、「神の御言を聞いて行う者こそ、わたしの母、わたしの兄弟なのである」。
But in answer He said to them, “My mother and my brothers are these, the ones who hear the word of God and do it!”
22 ある日のこと、イエスは弟子たちと舟に乗り込み、「湖の向こう岸へ渡ろう」と言われたので、一同が船出した。
Now it happened on one of those days that He got into a boat with His disciples; and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.
23 渡って行く間に、イエスは眠ってしまわれた。すると突風が湖に吹きおろしてきたので、彼らは水をかぶって危険になった。
But as they sailed He fell asleep. A windstorm descended on the lake, and they were being swamped and were in jeopardy.
24 そこで、みそばに寄ってきてイエスを起し、「先生、先生、わたしたちは死にそうです」と言った。イエスは起き上がって、風と荒浪とをおしかりになると、止んでなぎになった。
So they came and awakened Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the waves of water—and they stopped, and there was a calm!
25 イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたの信仰は、どこにあるのか」。彼らは恐れ驚いて互に言い合った、「いったい、このかたはだれだろう。お命じになると、風も水も従うとは」。
So He said to them, “Where is your faith?” But being terrified they marveled, saying to each other: “Who can this be? Because He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!”
26 それから、彼らはガリラヤの対岸、ゲラサ人の地に渡った。
Then they sailed to the district of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27 陸にあがられると、その町の人で、悪霊につかれて長いあいだ着物も着ず、家に居つかないで墓場にばかりいた人に、出会われた。
Well when He stepped out on the land, a certain man of that town met Him, who had had demons for a long time—he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house, but among the tombs.
28 この人がイエスを見て叫び出し、みまえにひれ伏して大声で言った、「いと高き神の子イエスよ、あなたはわたしとなんの係わりがあるのです。お願いです、わたしを苦しめないでください」。
When he saw Jesus he gave a yell, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice he said: “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torment me!”
29 それは、イエスが汚れた霊に、その人から出て行け、とお命じになったからである。というのは、悪霊が何度も彼をひき捕えたので、彼は鎖と足かせとでつながれて看視されていたが、それを断ち切っては悪霊によって荒野へ追いやられていたのである。
because He had commanded the unclean spirit to get out of the man (it had seized him many times—he would be bound with chains and shackles, being kept under guard; then bursting the bonds he would be driven by the demon into deserted places).
30 イエスは彼に「なんという名前か」とお尋ねになると、「レギオンと言います」と答えた。彼の中にたくさんの悪霊がはいり込んでいたからである。
Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion” (because many demons had gone into him).
And he kept imploring Him that He would not order them to go away into the Abyss. (Abyssos g12)
32 ところが、そこの山べにおびただしい豚の群れが飼ってあったので、その豚の中へはいることを許していただきたいと、悪霊どもが願い出た。イエスはそれをお許しになった。
Now a herd of many pigs was feeding there on the hillside; and they started begging Him that He would allow them to go into those; so He gave them permission.
33 そこで悪霊どもは、その人から出て豚の中へはいり込んだ。するとその群れは、がけから湖へなだれを打って駆け下り、おぼれ死んでしまった。
Then the demons exited the man and entered the pigs—and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned!
34 飼う者たちは、この出来事を見て逃げ出して、町や村里にふれまわった。
Well when the herders saw what had happened they ran away and reported it in the town and in the countryside.
35 人々はこの出来事を見に出てきた。そして、イエスのところにきて、悪霊を追い出してもらった人が着物を着て、正気になってイエスの足もとにすわっているのを見て、恐れた。
So they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus; they found the man from whom the demons had gone out sitting at Jesus' feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
36 それを見た人たちは、この悪霊につかれていた者が救われた次第を、彼らに語り聞かせた。
Also, the eyewitnesses reported to them how the demonized man was healed.
37 それから、ゲラサの地方の民衆はこぞって、自分たちの所から立ち去ってくださるようにとイエスに頼んだ。彼らが非常な恐怖に襲われていたからである。そこで、イエスは舟に乗って帰りかけられた。
Then the whole multitude from the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Him to depart from them, because they were overcome by fear. So He got into the boat and returned.
38 悪霊を追い出してもらった人は、お供をしたいと、しきりに願ったが、イエスはこう言って彼をお帰しになった。
Now the man from whom the demons had gone out had started begging Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying,
39 「家へ帰って、神があなたにどんなに大きなことをしてくださったか、語り聞かせなさい」。そこで彼は立ち去って、自分にイエスがして下さったことを、ことごとく町中に言いひろめた。
“Return to your house and recount how much God has done for you.” So he went his way and proclaimed all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
40 イエスが帰ってこられると、群衆は喜び迎えた。みんながイエスを待ちうけていたのである。
Now it happened, when Jesus returned, that the crowd welcomed Him, because they were all waiting for Him.
41 するとそこに、ヤイロという名の人がきた。この人は会堂司であった。イエスの足もとにひれ伏して、自分の家においでくださるようにと、しきりに願った。
And then, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue; he fell down at Jesus' feet and started begging Him to come to his house,
42 彼に十二歳ばかりになるひとり娘があったが、死にかけていた。ところが、イエスが出て行かれる途中、群衆が押し迫ってきた。
because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. Now as He was going, the crowds were pressing against Him.
43 ここに、十二年間も長血をわずらっていて、医者のために自分の身代をみな使い果してしまったが、だれにもなおしてもらえなかった女がいた。
And a woman—suffering with a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent her whole livelihood on physicians, but could not be healed by any—
44 この女がうしろから近寄ってみ衣のふさにさわったところ、その長血がたちまち止まってしまった。
approaching from behind touched the border of His garment; and immediately the flow of her blood stopped!
45 イエスは言われた、「わたしにさわったのは、だれか」。人々はみな自分ではないと言ったので、ペテロが「先生、群衆があなたを取り囲んで、ひしめき合っているのです」と答えた。
So Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said: “Master, the people are pressing against you and crowding in, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”
46 しかしイエスは言われた、「だれかがわたしにさわった。力がわたしから出て行ったのを感じたのだ」。
But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, because I noticed power going out from me.”
47 女は隠しきれないのを知って、震えながら進み出て、みまえにひれ伏し、イエスにさわった訳と、さわるとたちまちなおったこととを、みんなの前で話した。
Now when the woman saw that she could not hide, she came trembling, and falling down before Him she told Him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately.
48 そこでイエスが女に言われた、「娘よ、あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。安心して行きなさい」。
So He said: “Courage, daughter, your faith has healed you. Go into peace.”
49 イエスがまだ話しておられるうちに、会堂司の家から人がきて、「お嬢さんはなくなられました。この上、先生を煩わすには及びません」と言った。
While He was still speaking, here came someone from the synagogue ruler's house, saying to him: “Your daughter has died. Don't bother the teacher.”
50 しかしイエスはこれを聞いて会堂司にむかって言われた、「恐れることはない。ただ信じなさい。娘は助かるのだ」。
But upon hearing it Jesus reacted by saying to him, “Don't be afraid; just believe and she will be healed.”
51 それから家にはいられるとき、ペテロ、ヨハネ、ヤコブおよびその子の父母のほかは、だれも一緒にはいって来ることをお許しにならなかった。
When He arrived at the house, He allowed no one to go in except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.
52 人々はみな、娘のために泣き悲しんでいた。イエスは言われた、「泣くな、娘は死んだのではない。眠っているだけである」。
Now all were weeping and mourning for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.”
53 人々は娘が死んだことを知っていたので、イエスをあざ笑った。
They started ridiculing Him, knowing that she had died.
54 イエスは娘の手を取って、呼びかけて言われた、「娘よ、起きなさい」。
So He put them all outside, and grasping her hand He called, saying, “Child, arise!”
55 するとその霊がもどってきて、娘は即座に立ち上がった。イエスは何か食べ物を与えるように、さしずをされた。
Then her spirit returned, and she got right up! And He directed that she be given something to eat.
56 両親は驚いてしまった。イエスはこの出来事をだれにも話さないようにと、彼らに命じられた。
Her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
