ルカの福音書 5
1 さて、群衆が神の言を聞こうとして押し寄せてきたとき、イエスはゲネサレ湖畔に立っておられたが、
Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed upon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;
2 そこに二そうの小舟が寄せてあるのをごらんになった。漁師たちは、舟からおりて網を洗っていた。
and he saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 その一そうはシモンの舟であったが、イエスはそれに乗り込み、シモンに頼んで岸から少しこぎ出させ、そしてすわって、舟の中から群衆にお教えになった。
And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat.
4 話がすむと、シモンに「沖へこぎ出し、網をおろして漁をしてみなさい」と言われた。
And when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 シモンは答えて言った、「先生、わたしたちは夜通し働きましたが、何も取れませんでした。しかし、お言葉ですから、網をおろしてみましょう」。
And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets.
6 そしてそのとおりにしたところ、おびただしい魚の群れがはいって、網が破れそうになった。
And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking;
7 そこで、もう一そうの舟にいた仲間に、加勢に来るよう合図をしたので、彼らがきて魚を両方の舟いっぱいに入れた。そのために、舟が沈みそうになった。
and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
8 これを見てシモン・ペテロは、イエスのひざもとにひれ伏して言った、「主よ、わたしから離れてください。わたしは罪深い者です」。
But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9 彼も一緒にいた者たちもみな、取れた魚がおびただしいのに驚いたからである。
For he was amazed, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken;
10 シモンの仲間であったゼベダイの子ヤコブとヨハネも、同様であった。すると、イエスがシモンに言われた、「恐れることはない。今からあなたは人間をとる漁師になるのだ」。
and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 そこで彼らは舟を陸に引き上げ、いっさいを捨ててイエスに従った。
And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, and followed him.
12 イエスがある町におられた時、全身らい病になっている人がそこにいた。イエスを見ると、顔を地に伏せて願って言った、「主よ、みこころでしたら、きよめていただけるのですが」。
And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy: and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 イエスは手を伸ばして彼にさわり、「そうしてあげよう、きよくなれ」と言われた。すると、らい病がただちに去ってしまった。
And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway the leprosy departed from him.
14 イエスは、だれにも話さないようにと彼に言い聞かせ、「ただ行って自分のからだを祭司に見せ、それからあなたのきよめのため、モーセが命じたとおりのささげ物をして、人々に証明しなさい」とお命じになった。
And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
15 しかし、イエスの評判はますますひろまって行き、おびただしい群衆が、教を聞いたり、病気をなおしてもらったりするために、集まってきた。
But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.
16 しかしイエスは、寂しい所に退いて祈っておられた。
But he withdrew himself in the deserts, and prayed.
17 ある日のこと、イエスが教えておられると、ガリラヤやユダヤの方々の村から、またエルサレムからきたパリサイ人や律法学者たちが、そこにすわっていた。主の力が働いて、イエスは人々をいやされた。
And it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.
18 その時、ある人々が、ひとりの中風をわずらっている人を床にのせたまま連れてきて、家の中に運び入れ、イエスの前に置こうとした。
And behold, men bring on a bed a man that was palsied: and they sought to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19 ところが、群衆のためにどうしても運び入れる方法がなかったので、屋根にのぼり、瓦をはいで、病人を床ごと群衆のまん中につりおろして、イエスの前においた。
And not finding by what [way] they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
20 イエスは彼らの信仰を見て、「人よ、あなたの罪はゆるされた」と言われた。
And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
21 すると律法学者とパリサイ人たちとは、「神を汚すことを言うこの人は、いったい、何者だ。神おひとりのほかに、だれが罪をゆるすことができるか」と言って論じはじめた。
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
22 イエスは彼らの論議を見ぬいて、「あなたがたは心の中で何を論じているのか。
But Jesus perceiving their reasonings, answered and said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
23 あなたの罪はゆるされたと言うのと、起きて歩けと言うのと、どちらがたやすいか。
Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?
24 しかし、人の子は地上で罪をゆるす権威を持っていることが、あなたがたにわかるために」と彼らに対して言い、中風の者にむかって、「あなたに命じる。起きよ、床を取り上げて家に帰れ」と言われた。
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins (he said unto him that was palsied), I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thy house.
25 すると病人は即座にみんなの前で起きあがり、寝ていた床を取りあげて、神をあがめながら家に帰って行った。
And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his house, glorifying God.
26 みんなの者は驚嘆してしまった。そして神をあがめ、おそれに満たされて、「きょうは驚くべきことを見た」と言った。
And amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God; and they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things today.
27 そののち、イエスが出て行かれると、レビという名の取税人が収税所にすわっているのを見て、「わたしに従ってきなさい」と言われた。
And after these things he went forth, and beheld a publican, named Levi, sitting at the place of toll, and said unto him, Follow me.
28 すると、彼はいっさいを捨てて立ちあがり、イエスに従ってきた。
And he forsook all, and rose up and followed him.
29 それから、レビは自分の家で、イエスのために盛大な宴会を催したが、取税人やそのほか大ぜいの人々が、共に食卓に着いていた。
And Levi made him a great feast in his house: and there was a great multitude of publicans and of others that were sitting at meat with them.
30 ところが、パリサイ人やその律法学者たちが、イエスの弟子たちに対してつぶやいて言った、「どうしてあなたがたは、取税人や罪人などと飲食を共にするのか」。
And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?
31 イエスは答えて言われた、「健康な人には医者はいらない。いるのは病人である。
And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole have no need of a physician; but they that are sick.
32 わたしがきたのは、義人を招くためではなく、罪人を招いて悔い改めさせるためである」。
I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
33 また彼らはイエスに言った、「ヨハネの弟子たちは、しばしば断食をし、また祈をしており、パリサイ人の弟子たちもそうしているのに、あなたの弟子たちは食べたり飲んだりしています」。
And they said unto him, The disciples of John fast often, and make supplications; likewise also the [disciples] of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.
34 するとイエスは言われた、「あなたがたは、花婿が一緒にいるのに、婚礼の客に断食をさせることができるであろうか。
And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35 しかし、花婿が奪い去られる日が来る。その日には断食をするであろう」。
But the days will come; and when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then will they fast in those days.
36 それからイエスはまた一つの譬を語られた、「だれも、新しい着物から布ぎれを切り取って、古い着物につぎを当てるものはない。もしそんなことをしたら、新しい着物を裂くことになるし、新しいのから取った布ぎれも古いのに合わないであろう。
And he spake also a parable unto them; No man rendeth a piece from a new garment and putteth it upon an old garment; else he will rend the new, and also the piece from the new will not agree with the old.
37 まただれも、新しいぶどう酒を古い皮袋に入れはしない。もしそんなことをしたら、新しいぶどう酒は皮袋をはり裂き、そしてぶどう酒は流れ出るし、皮袋もむだになるであろう。
And no man putteth new wine into old wineskins; else the new wine will burst the skins, and itself will be spilled, and the skins will perish.
38 新しいぶどう酒は新しい皮袋に入れるべきである。
But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
39 まただれも、古い酒を飲んでから、新しいのをほしがりはしない。『古いのが良い』と考えているからである」。
And no man having drunk old [wine] desireth new: for he saith, The old is good.
