ルカの福音書 17
1 イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「罪の誘惑が来ることは避けられない。しかし、それをきたらせる者は、わざわいである。
And Jesus said to his disciples: It cannot be, but that offences will come: but woe to him, by whom they come.
2 これらの小さい者のひとりを罪に誘惑するよりは、むしろ、ひきうすを首にかけられて海に投げ入れられた方が、ましである。
Better for him were it, if a millstone were suspended to his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
3 あなたがたは、自分で注意していなさい。もしあなたの兄弟が罪を犯すなら、彼をいさめなさい。そして悔い改めたら、ゆるしてやりなさい。
Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother transgress, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 もしあなたに対して一日に七度罪を犯し、そして七度『悔い改めます』と言ってあなたのところへ帰ってくれば、ゆるしてやるがよい」。
And if he shall offend against thee seven times in a day, and, seven times in a day, shall turn himself to thee, and say, I repent; forgive him.
5 使徒たちは主に「わたしたちの信仰を増してください」と言った。
And the Legates said to our Lord: Increase our faith.
6 そこで主が言われた、「もし、からし種一粒ほどの信仰があるなら、この桑の木に、『抜け出して海に植われ』と言ったとしても、その言葉どおりになるであろう。
He said to them: If ye had faith like a grain of mustard seed, ye might say to this mulberry-tree, Be thou torn up by the roots, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you.
7 あなたがたのうちのだれかに、耕作か牧畜かをする僕があるとする。その僕が畑から帰って来たとき、彼に『すぐきて、食卓につきなさい』と言うだろうか。
Which of you, having a servant driving a yoke of oxen, or tending sheep, will say to him when he cometh from the field, Pass on at once, and recline for supper?
8 かえって、『夕食の用意をしてくれ。そしてわたしが飲み食いをするあいだ、帯をしめて給仕をしなさい。そのあとで、飲み食いをするがよい』と、言うではないか。
But he will say to him: Prepare for me what I may sup upon, and gird thy loins and serve me, until I have eaten and drunken; and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink.
9 僕が命じられたことをしたからといって、主人は彼に感謝するだろうか。
Hath he thanks for him, because the servant did what was commanded him? I think not.
10 同様にあなたがたも、命じられたことを皆してしまったとき、『わたしたちはふつつかな僕です。すべき事をしたに過ぎません』と言いなさい」。
So also ye, when ye have done all the things commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants, for we have done only what we were obligated to do.
11 イエスはエルサレムへ行かれるとき、サマリヤとガリラヤとの間を通られた。
And it occurred as Jesus advanced towards Jerusalem, that he passed among the Samaritans into Galilee.
12 そして、ある村にはいられると、十人のらい病人に出会われたが、彼らは遠くの方で立ちとどまり、
And when he drew near to enter a certain village, there met him ten leprous men; and they stood at a distance,
13 声を張りあげて、「イエスさま、わたしたちをあわれんでください」と言った。
and raised their voice, and said: Our Rabbi, Jesus, have compassion upon us.
14 イエスは彼らをごらんになって、「祭司たちのところに行って、からだを見せなさい」と言われた。そして、行く途中で彼らはきよめられた。
And when he had looked upon them, he said to them: Go, show yourselves to the priests. And as they were going, they were cleansed.
15 そのうちのひとりは、自分がいやされたことを知り、大声で神をほめたたえながら帰ってきて、
And one of them, when he saw that he was cleansed, returned, and with a loud voice, glorified God.
16 イエスの足もとにひれ伏して感謝した。これはサマリヤ人であった。
And he fell on his face, at the feet of Jesus, and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan.
17 イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「きよめられたのは、十人ではなかったか。ほかの九人は、どこにいるのか。
And Jesus answered, and said: Were they not ten who were cleansed? Where are the nine?
18 神をほめたたえるために帰ってきたものは、この他国人のほかにはいないのか」。
Have they so gone as not to come and give glory to God; except this one, who is of another nation?
19 それから、その人に言われた、「立って行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのだ」。
And he said to him; Arise, and go: thy faith hath given thee life.
20 神の国はいつ来るのかと、パリサイ人が尋ねたので、イエスは答えて言われた、「神の国は、見られるかたちで来るものではない。
And as some of the Pharisees asked him, When the kingdom of God would come; he answered, and said to them: The kingdom of God will not come with observables.
21 また『見よ、ここにある』『あそこにある』などとも言えない。神の国は、実にあなたがたのただ中にあるのだ」。
And they will not say: Behold, here it is! or, Behold, it is there! For lo, the kingdom of God is within you
22 それから弟子たちに言われた、「あなたがたは、人の子の日を一日でも見たいと願っても見ることができない時が来るであろう。
And he said to his disciples: The days will come, when ye will long to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye will not see them.
23 人々はあなたがたに、『見よ、あそこに』『見よ、ここに』と言うだろう。しかし、そちらへ行くな、彼らのあとを追うな。
And if they shall say to you: Lo, here he is! or, Lo, there he is! go not forth.
24 いなずまが天の端からひかり出て天の端へとひらめき渡るように、人の子もその日には同じようであるだろう。
For, as the lightning darteth from the heavens, and illuminateth all beneath the heavens; so will the Son of man be, in his day.
25 しかし、彼はまず多くの苦しみを受け、またこの時代の人々に捨てられねばならない。
But, previously, he is to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation.
26 そして、ノアの時にあったように、人の子の時にも同様なことが起るであろう。
And as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man.
27 ノアが箱舟にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていたが、そこへ洪水が襲ってきて、彼らをことごとく滅ぼした。
They ate and drank, they took wives and were given to husbands, until the day that Noah entered the ark; and the flood came, and destroyed every one.
28 ロトの時にも同じようなことが起った。人々は食い、飲み、買い、売り、植え、建てなどしていたが、
And again, as it was in the days of Lot; they ate and drank, bought and sold, planted and built.
29 ロトがソドムから出て行った日に、天から火と硫黄とが降ってきて、彼らをことごとく滅ぼした。
But in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, the Lord rained fire and sulphur from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 人の子が現れる日も、ちょうどそれと同様であろう。
Thus will it be, in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.
31 その日には、屋上にいる者は、自分の持ち物が家の中にあっても、取りにおりるな。畑にいる者も同じように、あとへもどるな。
In that day, let him that is on the house-top, and his goods in the house, not come down to take them: and let him that is in the field, not return after what is behind him.
32 ロトの妻のことを思い出しなさい。
Remember Lot's wife.
33 自分の命を救おうとするものは、それを失い、それを失うものは、保つのである。
He that desireth to preserve his life, will lose it; and he that will lose his life, shall preserve it.
34 あなたがたに言っておく。その夜、ふたりの男が一つ寝床にいるならば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう。
I tell you, that, in that night, two will be in one bed; one will be taken, and the other left.
35 ふたりの女が一緒にうすをひいているならば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう。〔
And two females will be grinding together; one will be taken, and the other left.
36 ふたりの男が畑におれば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう〕」。
Two men will be in the field; one will be taken, and the other left.
37 弟子たちは「主よ、それはどこであるのですか」と尋ねた。するとイエスは言われた、「死体のある所には、またはげたかが集まるものである」。
They answered, and said to him: Whither, our Lord? He said to them: Where the body is, there will the eagles assemble themselves.
