レビ記 26

1 あなたがたは自分のために、偶像を造ってはならない。また刻んだ像も石の柱も立ててはならない。またあなたがたの地に石像を立てて、それを拝んではならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主だからである。

Ye shall make yourselves no idols, neither rear you up for yourselves carved image, or statue, nor shall ye set up a figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it; for I am Jehovah your God.

2 あなたがたはわたしの安息日を守り、またわたしの聖所を敬わなければならない。わたしは主である。

Ye shall observe my sabbaths, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

3 もしあなたがたがわたしの定めに歩み、わたしの戒めを守って、これを行うならば、

If ye walk in my statutes, and observe my commandments and do them,

4 わたしはその季節季節に、雨をあなたがたに与えるであろう。地は産物を出し、畑の木々は実を結ぶであろう。

then I will give your rain in the season thereof, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit;

5 あなたがたの麦打ちは、ぶどうの取入れの時まで続き、ぶどうの取入れは、種まきの時まで続くであろう。あなたがたは飽きるほどパンを食べ、またあなたがたの地に安らかに住むであろう。

and your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing-time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land securely.

6 わたしが国に平和を与えるから、あなたがたは安らかに寝ることができ、あなたがたを恐れさすものはないであろう。わたしはまた国のうちから悪い獣を絶やすであろう。つるぎがあなたがたの国を行き巡ることはないであろう。

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will put away the evil beasts out of the land; and the sword shall not go through your land.

7 あなたがたは敵を追うであろう。彼らは、あなたがたのつるぎに倒れるであろう。

And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword;

8 あなたがたの五人は百人を追い、百人は万人を追い、あなたがたの敵はつるぎに倒れるであろう。

and five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; and your enemies shall fall beside you by the sword.

9 わたしはあなたがたを顧み、多くの子を獲させ、あなたがたを増し、あなたがたと結んだ契約を固めるであろう。

And I will turn my face towards you and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

10 あなたがたは古い穀物を食べている間に、また新しいものを獲て、その古いものを捨てるようになるであろう。

And ye shall eat old store, and clear away the old because of the new.

11 わたしは幕屋をあなたがたのうちに建て、心にあなたがたを忌みきらわないであろう。

And I will set my habitation among you; and my soul shall not abhor you;

12 わたしはあなたがたのうちに歩み、あなたがたの神となり、あなたがたはわたしの民となるであろう。

and I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be to me a people.

13 わたしはあなたがたの神、主であって、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出して、奴隷の身分から解き放った者である。わたしはあなたがたのくびきの横木を砕いて、まっすぐに立って歩けるようにしたのである。

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you walk upright.

14 しかし、あなたがたがもしわたしに聞き従わず、またこのすべての戒めを守らず、

But if ye hearken not unto me, and do not all these commandments,

15 わたしの定めを軽んじ、心にわたしのおきてを忌みきらって、わたしのすべての戒めを守らず、わたしの契約を破るならば、

and if ye shall despise my statutes, and if your soul shall abhor mine ordinances, so that ye do not all my commandments, that ye break my covenant,

16 わたしはあなたがたにこのようにするであろう。すなわち、あなたがたの上に恐怖を臨ませ、肺病と熱病をもって、あなたがたの目を見えなくし、命をやせ衰えさせるであろう。あなたがたが種をまいてもむだである。敵がそれを食べるであろう。

I also will do this unto you — I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and fever, which shall cause the eyes to fail, and the soul to waste away; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

17 わたしは顔をあなたがたにむけて攻め、あなたがたは敵の前に撃ちひしがれるであろう。またあなたがたの憎む者があなたがたを治めるであろう。あなたがたは追う者もないのに逃げるであろう。

And I will set my face against you, that ye may be routed before your enemies; they that hate you shall have dominion over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

18 それでもなお、あなたがたがわたしに聞き従わないならば、わたしはあなたがたの罪を七倍重く罰するであろう。

And if for this ye hearken not unto me, I will punish you sevenfold more for your sins,

19 わたしはあなたがたの誇とする力を砕き、あなたがたの天を鉄のようにし、あなたがたの地を青銅のようにするであろう。

and I will break the arrogance of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as bronze,

20 あなたがたの力は、むだに費されるであろう。すなわち、地は産物をいださず、国のうちの木々は実を結ばないであろう。

and your strength shall be spent in vain, and your land shall not yield its produce; and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.

21 もしあなたがたがわたしに逆らって歩み、わたしに聞き従わないならば、わたしはあなたがたの罪に従って七倍の災をあなたがたに下すであろう。

And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring sevenfold more plagues upon you according to your sins.

22 わたしはまた野獣をあなたがたのうちに送るであろう。それはあなたがたの子供を奪い、また家畜を滅ぼし、あなたがたの数を少なくするであろう。あなたがたの大路は荒れ果てるであろう。

And I will send the beasts of the field among you, that they may rob you of your children, and cut off your cattle, and make you few in number; and your streets shall be desolate.

23 もしあなたがたがこれらの懲しめを受けてもなお改めず、わたしに逆らって歩むならば、

And if ye will not be disciplined by me through these, but walk contrary unto me,

24 わたしもまたあなたがたに逆らって歩み、あなたがたの罪を七倍重く罰するであろう。

then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will smite you, even I, sevenfold for your sins.

25 わたしはあなたがたの上につるぎを臨ませ、違約の恨みを報いるであろう。あなたがたが町々に集まる時は、あなたがたのうちに疫病を送り、あなたがたは敵の手にわたされるであろう。

And I will bring a sword upon you that avengeth with the vengeance of the covenant, and ye shall be gathered together into your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

26 わたしがあなたがたのつえとするパンを砕くとき、十人の女が一つのかまどでパンを焼き、それをはかりにかけてあなたがたに渡すであろう。あなたがたは食べても満たされないであろう。

When I break the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall deliver you the bread again by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

27 それでもなお、あなたがたがわたしに聞き従わず、わたしに逆らって歩むならば、

And if for this ye hearken not to me, but walk contrary unto me,

28 わたしもあなたがたに逆らい、怒りをもって歩み、あなたがたの罪を七倍重く罰するであろう。

then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven-fold for your sins.

29 あなたがたは自分のむすこの肉を食べ、また自分の娘の肉を食べるであろう。

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

30 わたしはあなたがたの高き所をこぼち、香の祭壇を倒し、偶像の死体の上に、あなたがたの死体を投げ捨てて、わたしは心にあなたがたを忌みきらうであろう。

And I will lay waste your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

31 わたしはまたあなたがたの町々を荒れ地とし、あなたがたの聖所を荒らすであろう。またわたしはあなたがたのささげる香ばしいかおりをかがないであろう。

And I will lay waste your cities and desolate your sanctuaries; and I will not smell your sweet odours.

32 わたしがその地を荒らすゆえ、そこに住むあなたがたの敵はそれを見て驚くであろう。

And I will bring the land into desolation; that your enemies who dwell there in may be astonished at it.

33 わたしはあなたがたを国々の間に散らし、つるぎを抜いて、あなたがたの後を追うであろう。あなたがたの地は荒れ果て、あなたがたの町々は荒れ地となるであろう。

And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be desolation, and your cities waste.

34 こうしてその地が荒れ果てて、あなたがたは敵の国にある間、地は安息を楽しむであろう。すなわち、その時、地は休みを得て、安息を楽しむであろう。

Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, when ye are in your enemies' land; then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths.

35 それは荒れ果てている日の間、休むであろう。あなたがたがそこに住んでいる間、あなたがたの安息のときに休みを得なかったものである。

All the days of the desolation it shall rest, [the days in] which it did not rest on your sabbaths, when ye dwelt therein.

36 またあなたがたのうちの残っている者の心に、敵の国でわたしは恐れをいだかせるであろう。彼らは木の葉の動く音にも驚いて逃げ、つるぎを避けて逃げる者のように逃げて、追う者もないのにころび倒れるであろう。

And as to those that remain of you — I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, that the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth;

37 彼らは追う者もないのに、つるぎをのがれる者のように折り重なって、つまずき倒れるであろう。あなたがたは敵の前に立つことができないであろう。

and they shall stumble one over another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

38 あなたがたは国々のうちにあって滅びうせ、あなたがたの敵の地はあなたがたをのみつくすであろう。

And ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

39 あなたがたのうちの残っている者は、あなたがたの敵の地で自分の罪のゆえにやせ衰え、また先祖たちの罪のゆえに彼らと同じようにやせ衰えるであろう。

And they that remain of you shall waste away through their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also through the iniquities of their fathers shall they waste away with them.

40 しかし、彼らがもし、自分の罪と、先祖たちの罪、すなわち、わたしに反逆し、またわたしに逆らって歩んだことを告白するならば、

And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, through their unfaithfulness wherein they were unfaithful to me, and also that they have walked contrary unto me,

41 たといわたしが彼らに逆らって歩み、彼らを敵の国に引いて行っても、もし彼らの無割礼の心が砕かれ、あまんじて罪の罰を受けるならば、

so that I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,

42 そのときわたしはヤコブと結んだ契約を思い起し、またイサクと結んだ契約およびアブラハムと結んだ契約を思い起し、またその地を思い起すであろう。

I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

43 しかし、彼らが地を離れて地が荒れ果てている間、地はその安息を楽しむであろう。彼らはまた、あまんじて罪の罰を受けるであろう。彼らがわたしのおきてを軽んじ、心にわたしの定めを忌みきらったからである。

For the land shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, when it is in desolation without them; and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they despised my judgments, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44 それにもかかわらず、なおわたしは彼らが敵の国におるとき、彼らを捨てず、また忌みきらわず、彼らを滅ぼし尽さず、彼らと結んだわたしの契約を破ることをしないであろう。わたしは彼らの神、主だからである。

And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not despise them, and will not abhor them, to make an end of them utterly, to break my covenant with them, for I am Jehovah their God.

45 わたしは彼らの先祖たちと結んだ契約を彼らのために思い起すであろう。彼らはわたしがその神となるために国々の人の目の前で、エジプトの地から導き出した者である。わたしは主である』」。

But I will remember toward them the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, that I might be their God: I am Jehovah.

46 これらは主が、シナイ山で、自分とイスラエルの人々との間に、モーセによって立てられた定めと、おきてと、律法である。

These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which Jehovah made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.
