レビ記 11
1 主はまたモーセとアロンに言われた、
Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,
2 「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『地にあるすべての獣のうち、あなたがたの食べることができる動物は次のとおりである。
"Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.
3 獣のうち、すべてひずめの分かれたもの、すなわち、ひずめの全く切れたもの、反芻するものは、これを食べることができる。
Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat.
4 ただし、反芻するもの、またはひずめの分かれたもののうち、次のものは食べてはならない。すなわち、らくだ、これは、反芻するけれども、ひずめが分かれていないから、あなたがたには汚れたものである。
"'Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.

The coney, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.

The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn't part the hoof, she is unclean to you.

The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the cud, he is unclean to you.
8 あなたがたは、これらのものの肉を食べてはならない。またその死体に触れてはならない。これらは、あなたがたには汚れたものである。
Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.
9 水の中にいるすべてのもののうち、あなたがたの食べることができるものは次のとおりである。すなわち、海でも、川でも、すべて水の中にいるもので、ひれと、うろこのあるものは、これを食べることができる。
"'These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.
10 すべて水に群がるもの、またすべての水の中にいる生き物のうち、すなわち、すべて海、また川にいて、ひれとうろこのないものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。
All that do not have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,
11 これらはあなたがたに忌むべきものであるから、あなたがたはその肉を食べてはならない。またその死体は忌むべきものとしなければならない。
and you detest them. You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses.
12 すべて水の中にいて、ひれも、うろこもないものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。
Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.
13 鳥のうち、次のものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものとして、食べてはならない。それらは忌むべきものである。すなわち、はげわし、ひげはげわし、みさご、
"'These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the vulture, and the black vulture,
14 とび、はやぶさの類、
and the red kite, any kind of black kite,
15 もろもろのからすの類、
any kind of raven,
16 だちょう、よたか、かもめ、たかの類、
the horned owl, the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk,
17 ふくろう、う、みみずく、
the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
18 むらさきばん、ペリカン、はげたか、
the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,
19 こうのとり、さぎの類、やつがしら、こうもり。
the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
20 また羽があって四つの足で歩くすべての這うものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。
"'All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.
21 ただし、羽があって四つの足で歩くすべての這うもののうち、その足のうえに、跳ね足があり、それで地の上をはねるものは食べることができる。
Yet you may eat these: of all winged crawling creatures that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to hop on the earth.
22 すなわち、そのうち次のものは食べることができる。移住いなごの類、遍歴いなごの類、大いなごの類、小いなごの類である。
Even of these you may eat: any kind of locust, any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of grasshopper.
23 しかし、羽があって四つの足で歩く、そのほかのすべての這うものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。
But all winged crawling creatures which have four feet, are an abomination to you.
24 あなたがたは次の場合に汚れたものとなる。すなわち、すべてこれらのものの死体に触れる者は夕まで汚れる。
"'By these you will become unclean: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening.
25 すべてこれらのものの死体を運ぶ者は、その衣服を洗わなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れる。
Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
26 すべて、ひずめの分かれた獣で、その切れ目の切れていないもの、また、反芻することをしないものは、あなたがたに汚れたものである。すべて、これに触れる者は汚れる。
"'Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.
27 すべて四つの足で歩く獣のうち、その足の裏のふくらみで歩くものは皆あなたがたに汚れたものである。すべてその死体に触れる者は夕まで汚れる。
Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
28 その死体を運ぶ者は、その衣服を洗わなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れる。これは、あなたがたに汚れたものである。
He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.
29 地にはう這うもののうち、次のものはあなたがたに汚れたものである。すなわち、もぐらねずみ、とびねずみ、とげ尾とかげの類、
"'These are they which are unclean to you among the creatures that crawl on the earth: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,
30 やもり、大とかげ、とかげ、すなとかげ、カメレオン。
the gecko, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.
31 もろもろの這うもののうち、これらはあなたがたに汚れたものである。すべてそれらのものが死んで、それに触れる者は夕まで汚れる。
These are they which are unclean to you among all that crawl. Whoever touches them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.
32 またそれらのものが死んで、それが落ちかかった物はすべて汚れる。木の器であれ、衣服であれ、皮であれ、袋であれ、およそ仕事に使う器はそれを水に入れなければならない。それは夕まで汚れているが、そののち清くなる。
On whatever any of them falls when they are dead, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean.
33 またそれらのものが、土の器の中に落ちたならば、その中にあるものは皆汚れる。あなたがたはその器をこわさなければならない。
Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.
34 またすべてその中にある食物で、水分のあるものは汚れる。またすべてそのような器の中にある飲み物も皆汚れる。
All food which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
35 またそれらのものの死体が落ちかかったならば、その物はすべて汚れる。天火であれ、かまどであれ、それをこわさなければならない。これらは汚れたもので、あなたがたに汚れたものとなる。
Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.
36 ただし、泉、あるいは水の集まった水たまりは汚れない。しかし、その死体に触れる者は汚れる。
Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is a gathered shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.
37 それらのものの死体が、まく種の上に落ちても、それは汚れない。
If part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.
38 ただし、種の上に水がかかっていて、その上にそれらのものの死体が、落ちるならば、それはあなたがたに汚れたものとなる。
But if water is put on the seed, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.
39 あなたがたの食べる獣が死んだ時、その死体に触れる者は夕まで汚れる。
"'If any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
40 その死体を食べる者は、その衣服を洗わなければならない。夕まで汚れる。その死体を運ぶ者も、その衣服を洗わなければならない。夕まで汚れる。
He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
41 すべて地にはう這うものは忌むべきものである。これを食べてはならない。
"'Every swarming thing that swarms on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be eaten.
42 すべて腹ばい行くもの、四つ足で歩くもの、あるいは多くの足をもつもの、すなわち、すべて地にはう這うものは、あなたがたはこれを食べてはならない。それらは忌むべきものだからである。
Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creatures that crawl on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
43 あなたがたはすべて這うものによって、あなたがたの身を忌むべきものとしてはならない。また、これをもって身を汚し、あるいはこれによって汚されてはならない。
You shall not make yourselves abominable with any crawling creature that crawls, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.
44 わたしはあなたがたの神、主であるから、あなたがたはおのれを聖別し、聖なる者とならなければならない。わたしは聖なる者である。地にはう這うものによって、あなたがたの身を汚してはならない。
For I am Jehovah your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of crawling creature that moves on the earth.
45 わたしはあなたがたの神となるため、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き上った主である。わたしは聖なる者であるから、あなたがたは聖なる者とならなければならない』」。
For I am Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46 これは獣と鳥と、水の中に動くすべての生き物と、地に這うすべてのものに関するおきてであって、
"'This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that crawls on the earth,
47 汚れたものと清いもの、食べられる生き物と、食べられない生き物とを区別するものである。
to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.'"
