エレミヤ書 43
1 エレミヤがすべての民にむかって、彼らの神、主の言葉をことごとく語り、彼らの神、主が自分をつかわして言わせられるその言葉をみな告げ終った時、
It happened that, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, with which Jehovah their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
2 ホシャヤの子アザリヤと、カレヤの子ヨハナンおよび高慢な人々はみなエレミヤに言った、「あなたは偽りを言っている。われわれの神、主が、『エジプトへ行ってそこに住むな』と言わせるためにあなたをつかわされたのではない。
then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, "You speak falsely. Jehovah our God has not sent you to say, 'You shall not go into Egypt to live there';
3 ネリヤの子バルクがあなたをそそのかして、われわれに逆らわせ、われわれをカルデヤびとの手に渡して殺すか、あるいはバビロンに捕え移させるのだ」。
but Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon."
4 こうしてカレヤの子ヨハナンと軍勢の長たちおよび民らは皆、主の声にしたがわず、ユダの地にとどまろうとしなかった。
So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of Jehovah, to dwell in the land of Judah.
5 そしてカレヤの子ヨハナンと軍勢の長たちは、ユダに残っている者すなわち追いやられた国々からユダの地に住むために帰ってきた者、
But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah;
6 男、女、子供、王の娘たち、およびすべて侍衛の長ネブザラダンがシャパンの子であるアヒカムの子ゲダリヤに渡しておいた者、ならびに預言者エレミヤとネリヤの子バルクをつれて、
the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;
7 エジプトの地へ行った。彼らは主の声にしたがわなかったのである。そして彼らはついにタパネスに行った。
and they came into the land of Egypt; for they did not obey the voice of Jehovah: and they came to Tahpanhes.
8 主の言葉はタパネスでエレミヤに臨んだ、
Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
9 「大きな石を手に取り、ユダの人々の目の前で、これをタパネスにあるパロの宮殿の入口の敷石のしっくいの中に隠して、
"Take great stones in your hand, and hide them in mortar in the brick work, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;
10 彼らに言いなさい、『万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう言われる、見よ、わたしは使者をつかわして、わたしのしもべであるバビロンの王ネブカデレザルを招く。彼はその位をこの隠した石の上にすえ、その上に王の天蓋を張る。
and tell them, 'Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: "Look, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.
11 彼は来てエジプトの地を撃ち、疫病に定まっている者を疫病に渡し、とりこに定まっている者をとりこにし、つるぎに定まっている者をつるぎにかける。
He shall come, and shall strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death shall be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.
12 彼はエジプトの神々の宮に火をつけてこれを焼き、彼らをとりこにする。そして羊を飼う者が着物の虫をはらいきよめるように、エジプトの地をきよめる。彼は安らかにそこを去る。
I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace.
13 彼はエジプトの地にあるヘリオポリスのオベリスクをこわし、エジプトの神々の宮を火で焼く』」。
He shall also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire."'"
