エレミヤ書 33
1 エレミヤがなお監視の庭に閉じ込められている時、主の言葉はふたたび彼に臨んだ、
And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 「地を造られた主、それを形造って堅く立たせられた主、その名を主と名のっておられる者がこう仰せられる、
Thus hath said the Lord who doth this, the Lord that formeth it, to establish it: the Eternal is his name;
3 わたしに呼び求めよ、そうすれば、わたしはあなたに答える。そしてあなたの知らない大きな隠されている事を、あなたに示す。
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and I will tell thee great and unheard of things, which thou knowest not.
4 イスラエルの神、主は塁と、つるぎとを防ぐために破壊されたこの町の家と、ユダの王の家についてこう言われる、
For thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by means of the mounds, and by means of the sword;
5 カルデヤびとは来て戦い、わたしが怒りと憤りをもって殺す人々の死体を、それに満たす。わたしは人々のもろもろの悪のために、この町にわたしの顔をおおい隠した。
As they come to fight with the Chaldeans, but only to fill those with the corpses of the men whom I slay in my anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hidden my face from this city:
6 見よ、わたしは健康と、いやしとを、ここにもたらして人々をいやし、豊かな繁栄と安全とを彼らに示す。
Behold, I will bring it healing and cure, and I will cure them, and I will display unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
7 わたしはユダとイスラエルを再び栄えさせ、彼らを建てて、もとのようにする。
And I will cause to return the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel, and I will build them up, as at the first.
8 わたしは彼らがわたしに向かって犯した罪のすべてのとがを清め、彼らがわたしに向かって犯した罪と反逆のすべてのとがをゆるす。
And I will cleanse them from all their guiltiness, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned toward me, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
9 この町は地のもろもろの民の前に、わたしのために喜びの名となり、誉となり、栄えとなる。彼らはわたしがわたしの民に施すもろもろの恵みのことを聞く。そして、わたしがこの町に施すもろもろの恵みと、もろもろの繁栄のために恐れて身をふるわす。
And it shall be to me for a name of gladness, a praise and an honor with all the nations of the earth, who will hear all the good that I am doing unto them: and they shall dread and tremble because of all the good and because of all the happiness that I prepare unto it.
10 主はこう言われる、あなたがたが、『それは荒れて、人もおらず獣もいない』というこの所、すなわち、荒れて、人もおらず住む者もなく、獣もいないユダの町とエルサレムのちまたに、
Thus hath said the Lord, Yet again shall there be heard in this place, of which ye say, “It is ruined, without man and without beast” [[[even] in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast, ]]
11 再び喜びの声、楽しみの声、花婿の声、花嫁の声、および『万軍の主に感謝せよ、主は恵みふかく、そのいつくしみは、いつまでも絶えることがない』といって、感謝の供え物を主の宮に携えてくる者の声が聞える。それは、わたしがこの地を再び栄えさせて初めのようにするからであると主は言われる。
The voice of gladness, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of those that say, “Give thanks unto the Lord of hosts; for the Lord is good; because to eternity endureth his kindness:” of those that bring thanksgiving-offering unto the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.
12 万軍の主はこう言われる、荒れて、人もおらず獣もいないこの所と、そのすべての町々に再びその群れを伏させる牧者のすまいがあるようになる。
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Yet again shall there be in this place, which is ruined, without man and even without beast, and in all its cities, a habitation of shepherds who cause their flocks to lie down.
13 山地の町々と、平地の町々と、ネゲブの町々と、ベニヤミンの地、エルサレムの周囲と、ユダの町々で、群れは再びそれを数える者の手の下を通りすぎると主は言われる。
In the cities of the mountain, in the cities of the lowlands, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the environs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks yet pass again under the hands of him that counteth them, saith the Lord.
14 主は言われる、見よ、わたしがイスラエルの家とユダの家に約束したことをなし遂げる日が来る。
Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will fulfill that good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and respecting the house of Judah.
15 その日、その時になるならば、わたしはダビデのために一つの正しい枝を生じさせよう。彼は公平と正義を地に行う。
In those days, and at that time, will I cause to grow up unto David the sprout of righteousness: and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
16 その日、ユダは救を得、エルサレムは安らかにおる。その名は『主はわれわれの正義』ととなえられる。
In those days shall Judah be helped, and Jerusalem shall dwell in safety: and this is what she shall be called, The Lord is our righteousness.
17 主はこう仰せられる、イスラエルの家の位に座する人がダビデの子孫のうちに欠けることはない。
For thus hath said the Lord, There shall never be wanting unto David a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
18 またわたしの前に燔祭をささげ、素祭を焼き、つねに犠牲をささげる人が、レビびとである祭司のうちに絶えることはない」。
And unto the priests the Levites there shall not be wanting a man before me, to offer burnt-offerings, and to burn meat-offerings, and to prepare sacrifices at all times.
19 主の言葉はエレミヤに臨んだ、
And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying,
20 「主はこう仰せられる、もしあなたがたが、昼と結んだわたしの契約を破り、また夜と結んだわたしの契約を破り、昼と夜が定められた時に来ないようにすることができるならば、
Thus hath said the Lord, If ye can break my covenant with the day, and my covenant with the night, and so, that there be not day and night in their season:
21 しもべダビデとわたしが結んだ契約もまた破れ、彼はその位に座して王となる子を与えられない。またわたしがわたしに仕えるレビびとである祭司に立てた契約も破れる。
Then also shall my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and [that] with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
22 天の星は数えることができず、浜の砂は量ることができない。そのようにわたしは、しもべダビデの子孫と、わたしに仕えるレビびとである祭司の数を増そう」。
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, and the sand of the sea not be measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
23 主の言葉はエレミヤに臨んだ、
And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
24 「あなたはこの民が、『主は自ら選んだ二つのやからを捨てた』といっているのを聞かないか。彼らはこのようにわたしの民を侮って、これを国とみなさないのである。
Hast thou not observed what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath made choice of, even these hath he rejected: and they [thus] have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
25 主はこう言われる、もしわたしが昼と夜とに契約を立てず、また天地のおきてを定めなかったのであれば、
Thus hath said the Lord, If my covenant be not with day and night, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth:
26 わたしは、ヤコブとわたしのしもべダビデとの子孫を捨てて、再び彼の子孫のうちからアブラハム、イサク、ヤコブの子孫を治める者を選ばない。わたしは彼らを再び栄えさせ、彼らにあわれみをたれよう」。
Then also will I reject the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so as not to take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
