エレミヤ書 32
1 ユダの王ゼデキヤの十年、すなわちネブカデレザルの十八年に、主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ。
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which [was] the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
2 その時、バビロンの王の軍勢がエルサレムを攻め囲んでいて、預言者エレミヤはユダの王の宮殿にある監視の庭のうちに監禁されていた。
For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was confined in the court of the prison, which [was] in the king of Judah's house.
3 ユダの王ゼデキヤが彼を閉じ込めたのであるが、王は言った、「なぜあなたは預言して言うのか、『主はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしはこの町をバビロンの王の手に渡し、彼はこれを取る。
For Zedekiah king of Judah had confined him, saying, Why dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
4 またユダの王ゼデキヤはカルデヤびとの手をのがれることなく、かならずバビロンの王の手に渡され、顔と顔を合わせて彼と語り、目と目は相まみえる。
And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape from the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
5 そして彼はゼデキヤをバビロンに引いていき、ゼデキヤは、わたしが彼を顧みる時まで、そこにいると主は言われる。あなたがたは、カルデヤびとと戦っても勝つことはできない』と」。
And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.
6 エレミヤは言った、「主の言葉がわたしに臨んで言われる、
And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
7 『見よ、あなたのおじシャルムの子ハナメルがあなたの所に来て言う、「アナトテにあるわたしの畑を買いなさい。それは、これを買い取り、あがなう権利があなたにあるから」と』。
Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thy uncle shall come to thee, saying, Buy for thee my field that [is] in Anathoth: for the right of redemption [is] thine to buy [it].
8 はたして主の言葉のように、わたしのいとこであるハナメルが監視の庭のうちにいるわたしの所に来て言った、『ベニヤミンの地のアナトテにあるわたしの畑を買ってください。所有するのも、あがなうのも、あなたの権利なのです。買い取ってあなたの物にしてください。これが主の言葉であるのをわたしは知っていました』。
So Hanameel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison, according to the word of the LORD, and said to me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that [is] in Anathoth, which [is] in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance [is] thine, and the redemption [is] thine; buy [it] for thyself. Then I knew that this [was] the word of the LORD.
9 そこでわたしは、いとこのハナメルからアナトテにある畑を買い取り、銀十七シケルを量って彼に支払った。
And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that [was] in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, [even] seventeen shekels of silver.
10 すなわち、わたしはその証書をつくって、これに記名し、それを封印し、証人を立て、はかりをもって銀を量って与えた。
And I subscribed the contract, and sealed [it], and took witnesses, and weighed [him] the money in the balances.
11 そしてわたしはその約定をしるして封印した買収証書と、封印のない写しとを取り、
So I took the evidence of the purchase, [both] that which was sealed [according] to the law and custom, and that which was open:
12 いとこのハナメルと、買収証書に記名した証人たち、および監視の庭にすわっているすべてのユダヤ人の前で、その証書をマアセヤの子であるネリヤの子バルクに与え、
And I gave the evidence of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel my uncle's [son], and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.
13 彼らの前で、わたしはバルクに命じて言った、
And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
14 『万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう仰せられる、これらの証書すなわち、この買収証書の封印したものと、封印のない写しとを取り、これらを土の器に入れて、長く保存せよ。
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both that which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
15 万軍の主、イスラエルの神がこう言われるからである、「この地で人々はまた家と畑とぶどう畑を買うようになる」と』。
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
16 わたしは買収証書をネリヤの子バルクに渡したあとで主に祈って言った、
Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD, saying,
17 『ああ主なる神よ、あなたは大いなる力と、伸べた腕をもって天と地をお造りになったのです。あなたのできないことは、ひとつもありません。
Ah LORD God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and out-stretched arm, [and] there is nothing too hard for thee:
18 あなたはいつくしみを千万人に施し、また父の罪をそののちの子孫に報いられるのです。あなたは大いなる全能の神でいらせられ、その名は万軍の主と申されます。
Thou showest loving-kindness to thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, JEHOVAH of hosts, [is] his name,
19 あなたの計りごとは大きく、また、事を行うのに力があり、あなたの目は人々の歩むすべての道を見て、おのおのの道にしたがい、その行いの実によってこれに報いられます。
Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thy eyes [are] open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
20 あなたは、しるしと、不思議なわざとをエジプトの地に行い、また今日に至るまでイスラエルと全人類のうちに行い、そして今日のように名をあげられました。
Who hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, [even] to this day, and in Israel, and among [other] men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;
21 あなたは、しるしと、不思議なわざと、強い手と、伸べた腕と、大いなる恐るべき事をもって、あなたの民イスラエルをエジプトの地から導き出し、
And hast brought forth thy people Israel from the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an out-stretched arm, and with great terror;
22 この地を彼らに賜わりました。これはあなたが彼らの先祖たちに与えようと誓われた乳と蜜の流れる地です。
And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
23 こうして彼らは、はいってこれを獲たのですが、あなたの声に聞き従わず、あなたの律法を行わず、すべてあなたがせよと命じられたことをしなかったので、あなたはこの災を彼らの上にお下しになりました。
And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:
24 見よ、塁が築きあげられたのは、この町を取るためです。つるぎと、ききんと、疫病のために、町はこれを攻めているカルデヤびとの手に渡されます。あなたの言われたようになりましたのは、ごらんのとおりであります。
Behold the mounts, they are come to the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and behold, thou seest [it].
25 主なる神よ、あなたはわたしに言われました、「銀をもって畑を買い、証人を立てよ」と。そうであるのに、町はカルデヤびとの手に渡されています』」。
And thou hast said to me, O LORD GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
26 主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ、
Then came the word of the LORD to Jeremiah, saying,
27 「見よ、わたしは主である、すべて命ある者の神である。わたしにできない事があろうか。
Behold, I [am] the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
28 それゆえ、主はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはこの町をカルデヤびとと、バビロンの王ネブカデレザルの手に渡す。彼はこれを取る。
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:
29 この町を攻めているカルデヤびとがきて、この町に火をつけて焼き払う。屋根の上で人々が、バアルに香をたき、ほかの神々に酒をそそいで、わたしを怒らせたその家をも彼らは焼く。
And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.
30 それは、イスラエルの人々とユダの人々とは、その若い時から、わたしの前に悪いことのみを行い、またイスラエルの民はその手のわざをもって、わたしを怒らせることばかりをしたからであると主は言われる。
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done evil only before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.
31 この町はそれが建った日からきょうまで、わたしの怒りと憤りとをひき起してきたので、わたしの前からこれを除き去るのである。
For this city hath been to me [as] a provocation of my anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even to this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
32 それは、イスラエルの民とユダの民とが、もろもろの悪を行って、わたしを怒らせたことによるのである。彼らの王たちと、そのつかさたち、祭司たち、預言者たち、またユダの人々とエルサレムの住民たちが皆そうである。
Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
33 彼らはその背中をわたしに向けて顔をわたしに向けず、わたしがたゆまず教えたにもかかわらず、彼らは教を聞かず、またうけないのである。
And they have turned to me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising early and teaching [them], yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
34 彼らは憎むべき物を、わが名をもって呼ばれている家にすえつけて、そこを汚し、
But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
35 またベンヒンノムの谷にバアルの高き所を築いて、むすこ娘をモレクにささげた。わたしは彼らにこのようなことを命じたことはなく、また彼らがこの憎むべきことを行って、ユダに罪を犯させようとは考えもしなかった。
And they built the high places of Baal, which [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] to Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
36 それゆえ今イスラエルの神、主は、この町、すなわちあなたがたが、『つるぎと、ききんと、疫病のためにバビロンの王の手に渡される』といっている町についてこう仰せられる、
And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, of which ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;
37 見よ、わたしは、わたしの怒りと憤りと大いなる怒りをもって、彼らを追いやったもろもろの国から彼らを集め、この所へ導きかえって、安らかに住まわせる。
Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again to this place, and I will cause them to dwell in safety.
38 そして彼らはわたしの民となり、わたしは彼らの神となる。
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
39 わたしは彼らに一つの心と一つの道を与えて常にわたしを恐れさせる。これは彼らが彼ら自身とその後の子孫の幸を得るためである。
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
40 わたしは彼らと永遠の契約を立てて、彼らを見捨てずに恵みを施すことを誓い、またわたしを恐れる恐れを彼らの心に置いて、わたしを離れることのないようにしよう。
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
41 わたしは彼らに恵みを施すことを喜びとし、心をつくし、精神をつくし、真実をもって彼らをこの地に植える。
Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
42 主はこう仰せられる、わたしがこのもろもろの大きな災をこの民に下したように、わたしが彼らに約束するもろもろの幸を彼らの上に下す。
For thus saith the LORD; As I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
43 人々はこの地に畑を買うようになる。あなたがたが、『それは荒れて人も獣もいなくなり、カルデヤびとの手に渡されてしまう』といっている地である。
And fields shall be bought in this land, of which ye say, [It is] desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
44 人々はベニヤミンの地と、エルサレムの周囲と、ユダの町々と、山地の町々と、平地の町々と、ネゲブの町々で、銀をもって畑を買い、証書をつくって、これに記名し封印し、また証人を立てる。それは、わたしが彼らを再び栄えさせるからであると主は言われる」。
Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal [them], and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
