イザヤ書 28
1 エフライムの酔いどれの誇る冠と、酒におぼれた者の肥えた谷のかしらにあるしぼみゆく花の美しい飾りは、わざわいだ。
Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious adornment, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine.
2 見よ、主はひとりの力ある強い者を持っておられる。これはひょうをまじえた暴風のように、破り、そこなう暴風雨のように、大水のあふれみなぎる暴風のように、それを激しく地に投げうつ。
Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a storm of hail [and] a destroying tempest; as a storm of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with might.
3 エフライムの酔いどれの誇る冠は足で踏みにじられる。
The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet;
4 肥えた谷のかしらにあるしぼみゆく花の美しい飾りは、夏前に熟した初なりのいちじくのようだ。人がこれを見ると、取るやいなや、食べてしまう。
and the fading flower of his glorious adornment which is on the head of the fat valley shall be like an early fig before the summer: as soon as he that seeth it perceiveth it, scarcely is it in his hand, he swalloweth it down.
5 その日、万軍の主はその民の残った者のために、栄えの冠となり、麗しい冠となられる。
In that day will Jehovah of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the remnant of his people;
6 また、さばきの席に座する者にはさばきの霊となり、戦いを門まで追い返す者には力となられる。
and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
7 しかし、これらもまた酒のゆえによろめき、濃き酒のゆえによろける。祭司と預言者とは濃き酒のゆえによろめき、酒のゆえに心みだれ、濃き酒のゆえによろける。彼らは幻を見るときに誤り、さばきを行うときにつまづく。
But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are they gone astray. The priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink; they are overpowered by wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they have erred in vision, they have stumbled [in] judgment.
8 すべての食卓は吐いた物で満ち、清い所はない。
For all tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no [more] place.
9 「彼はだれに知識を教えようとするのか。だれにおとずれを説きあかそうとするのか。乳をやめ、乳ぶさを離れた者にするのだろうか。
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the report? Them that are weaned from the milk, withdrawn from the breasts?
10 それは教訓に教訓、教訓に教訓、規則に規則、規則に規則。ここにも少し、そこにも少し教えるのだ」。
For [it is] precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. ...
11 否、むしろ主は異国のくちびると、異国の舌とをもってこの民に語られる。
For with stammering lips and a strange tongue will he speak to this people;
12 主はさきに彼らに言われた、「これが安息だ、疲れた者に安息を与えよ。これが休息だ」と。しかし彼らは聞こうとはしなかった。
to whom he said, This is the rest: cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. But they would not hear.
13 それゆえ、主の言葉は彼らに、教訓に教訓、教訓に教訓、規則に規則、規則に規則、ここにも少し、そこにも少しとなる。これは彼らが行って、うしろに倒れ、破られ、わなにかけられ、捕えられるためである。
And the word of Jehovah was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little: that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
14 それゆえ、エルサレムにあるこの民を治めるあざける人々よ、主の言葉を聞け。
Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 あなたがたは言った、「われわれは死と契約をなし、陰府と協定を結んだ。みなぎりあふれる災の過ぎる時にも、それはわれわれに来ない。われわれはうそを避け所となし、偽りをもって身をかくしたからである」。 (Sheol h7585)
For ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol have we made an agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves. (Sheol h7585)
16 それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、「見よ、わたしはシオンに一つの石をすえて基とした。これは試みを経た石、堅くすえた尊い隅の石である。『信ずる者はあわてることはない』。
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I lay for foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation: he that trusteth shall not make haste.
17 わたしは公平を、測りなわとし、正義を、下げ振りとする。ひょうは偽りの避け所を滅ぼし、水は隠れ場を押し倒す」。
And I will appoint judgment for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
19 それが過ぎるごとに、あなたがたを捕える。それは朝な朝な過ぎ、昼も夜も過ぎるからだ。このおとずれを聞きわきまえることは、全くの恐れである。
As it passeth through it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night; and it shall be terror only to understand the report.
20 床が短くて身を伸べることができず、かける夜具が狭くて身をおおうことができないからだ。
For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow when he would wrap himself in it.
21 主はペラジム山で立たれたように立ちあがり、ギベオンの谷で憤られたように憤られて、その行いをなされる。その行いは類のないものである。またそのわざをなされる。そのわざは異なったものである。
For Jehovah will rise up as on mount Perazim, he will be moved with anger as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and perform his act, his unwonted act.
22 それゆえ、あなたがたはあざけってはならない。さもないと、あなたがたのなわめは、きびしくなる。わたしは主なる万軍の神から全地の上に臨む滅びの宣言を聞いたからである。
Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of hosts a consumption, and [one] determined, upon the whole land.
23 あなたがたは耳を傾けて、わが声を聞くがよい。心してわが言葉を聞くがよい。
Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
24 種をまくために耕す者は絶えず耕すだろうか。彼は絶えずその地をひらき、まぐわをもって土をならすだろうか。
Doth the ploughman plough all day to sow? Is he [all day] opening and breaking the clods of his land?
25 地のおもてを平らにしたならば、いのんどをまき、クミンをまき、小麦をうねに植え、大麦を定めた所に植え、スペルト麦をその境に植えないだろうか。
Doth he not, when he hath levelled the face thereof, cast abroad dill, and scatter cummin, and set the wheat in rows, and the barley in an appointed place, and the rye in its border?
26 これは彼の神が正しく、彼を導き教えられるからである。
His God doth instruct him in [his] judgment, he doth teach him.
27 いのんどは麦こき板でこかない、クミンはその上に車輪をころがさない。いのんどを打つには棒を用い、クミンを打つにはさおを用いる。
For the dill is not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but dill is beaten out with a staff, and cummin with a rod.
28 人はパン用の麦を打つとき砕くだろうか、否、それが砕けるまでいつまでも打つことをしない。馬をもってその上に車輪を引かせるとき、それを砕くことをしない。
Bread [corn] is crushed, because he will not ever be threshing it; and if he drove the wheels of his cart and his horses [over it], he would not crush it.
29 これもまた万軍の主から出ることである。その計りごとは驚くべく、その知恵はすぐれている。
This also cometh forth from Jehovah of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, great in wisdom.
