イザヤ書 26
1 その日ユダの国で、この歌をうたう、「われわれは堅固な町をもつ。主は救をその石がきとし、またとりでとされる。
In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will [God] appoint [for] walls and bulwarks.
2 門を開いて、信仰を守る正しい国民を入れよ。
Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 あなたは全き平安をもってこころざしの堅固なものを守られる。彼はあなたに信頼しているからである。
Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
4 とこしえに主に信頼せよ、主なる神はとこしえの岩だからである。
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH [is] everlasting strength:
5 主は高き所、そびえたつ町に住む者をひきおろし、これを伏させ、これを地に伏させて、ちりにかえされる。
For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, [even] to the ground; he bringeth it [even] to the dust.
6 こうして足で踏まれ、貧しい者の足で踏まれ、乏しい者はその上を歩む」。
The foot shall tread it down, [even] the feet of the poor, [and] the steps of the needy.
7 正しい者の道は平らである。あなたは正しい者の道をなめらかにされる。
The way of the just [is] uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.
8 主よ、あなたがさばきをなさる道で、われわれはあなたを待ち望む。われわれの魂の慕うものは、あなたの記念の名である。
Yes, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of [our] soul [is] to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
9 わが魂は夜あなたを慕い、わがうちなる霊は、せつにあなたを求める。あなたのさばきが地に行われるとき、世に住む者は正義を学ぶからである。
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments [are] in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
10 悪しき者は恵まれても、なお正義を学ばず、正しい地にあっても不義を行い、主の威光を仰ぐことをしない。
Let favor be shown to the wicked, [yet] he will not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
11 主よ、あなたのみ手が高くあがるけれども、彼らはそれを顧みない。どうか、あなたの、おのが民を救われる熱心を彼らに見させて、大いに恥じさせ、火をもってあなたの敵を焼き滅ぼしてください。
LORD, [when] thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: [but] they shall see, and be ashamed for [their] envy at the people; yes, the fire of thy enemies shall devour them.
12 主よ、あなたはわれわれのために平和を設けられる。あなたはわれわれのためにわれわれのすべてのわざをなし遂げられた。
LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
13 われわれの神、主よ、あなた以外のもろもろの主がわれわれを治めた。しかし、われわれはただ、あなたの名のみをあがめる。
O LORD our God, [other] lords beside thee have had dominion over us; [but] by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
14 死んだ者はまた生きない。亡霊は生き返らない。それで、あなたは彼らを罰して滅ぼし、彼らの思い出をことごとく消し去られた。
[They are] dead, they shall not live; [they are] deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
15 主よ、あなたはこの国民を増し加えられた。あなたはこの国民を増し加えられた。あなたは栄光をあらわされた。あなたは地の境を四方に広げられた。
Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation; thou art glorified: thou hadst removed [it] far to all the ends of the earth.
16 主よ、彼らは悩みのとき、あなたに求めた。彼らがあなたの懲しめにあったとき、祈をささげた。
LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer [when] thy chastening [was] upon them.
17 主よ、はらめる女の産むときが近づいて苦しみ、その痛みによって叫ぶように、われわれはあなたのゆえに、そのようであった。
As a woman with child, [that] draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, [and] crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.
18 われわれは、はらみ、苦しんだ。しかしわれわれの産んだものは風にすぎなかった。われわれは救を地に施すこともせず、また世に住む者を滅ぼすこともしなかった。
We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance on the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
19 あなたの死者は生き、彼らのなきがらは起きる。ちりに伏す者よ、さめて喜びうたえ。あなたの露は光の露であって、それを亡霊の国の上に降らされるからである。
Thy dead [men] shall live, [together with] my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew [is as] the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
20 さあ、わが民よ、あなたのへやにはいり、あなたのうしろの戸を閉じて、憤りの過ぎ去るまで、しばらく隠れよ。
Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee; hide thyself as it were for a little moment until the indignation shall be overpast.
21 見よ、主はそのおられる所を出て、地に住む者の不義を罰せられる。地はその上に流された血をあらわして、殺された者を、もはやおおうことがない。
For behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
