ヘブル人への手紙 1
1 神は、むかしは、預言者たちにより、いろいろな時に、いろいろな方法で、先祖たちに語られたが、
On many occasions and in many ways in the olden time, God having spoken to the fathers through the prophets, at the last of these days has spoken to us through his Son,
whom he put forth the heir of all things, and through whom he created the ages; (aiōn g165)
3 御子は神の栄光の輝きであり、神の本質の真の姿であって、その力ある言葉をもって万物を保っておられる。そして罪のきよめのわざをなし終えてから、いと高き所にいます大能者の右に、座につかれたのである。
who being the brightness of his glory, and the character of his person, and holding up all things by the word of his power, having made purgation of the sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 御子は、その受け継がれた名が御使たちの名にまさっているので、彼らよりもすぐれた者となられた。
being so much greater than the angels, that he has inherited a name so much more excellent than they.
5 いったい、神は御使たちのだれに対して、「あなたこそは、わたしの子。きょう、わたしはあなたを生んだ」と言い、さらにまた、「わたしは彼の父となり、彼はわたしの子となるであろう」と言われたことがあるか。
For to which one of the angels at any time did he say, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be unto him a Father, and he shall be unto me a Son?
6 さらにまた、神は、その長子を世界に導き入れるに当って、「神の御使たちはことごとく、彼を拝すべきである」と言われた。
And again when he may lead in the first begotten into the world, he says, Indeed let all the angels of God worship him.
7 また、御使たちについては、「神は、御使たちを風とし、ご自分に仕える者たちを炎とされる」と言われているが、
And to the angels he says, he maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire: but to the Son he says,
Thy throne, O God, is unto the age of the age; and the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. (aiōn g165)
9 あなたは義を愛し、不法を憎まれた。それゆえに、神、あなたの神は、喜びのあぶらを、あなたの友に注ぐよりも多く、あなたに注がれた」と言い、
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy comrades.
10 さらに、「主よ、あなたは初めに、地の基をおすえになった。もろもろの天も、み手のわざである。
And thou, at the beginning, O Lord, didst lay the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
11 これらのものは滅びてしまうが、あなたは、いつまでもいますかたである。すべてのものは衣のように古び、
These shall perish; but thou dost remain: truly all these shall wax old like a garment;
12 それらをあなたは、外套のように巻かれる。これらのものは、衣のように変るが、あなたは、いつも変ることがなく、あなたのよわいは、尽きることがない」とも言われている。
and thou shalt roll them up like a mantle, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail thee.
13 神は、御使たちのだれに対して、「あなたの敵を、あなたの足台とするときまでは、わたしの右に座していなさい」と言われたことがあるか。
And to which one of the angels has he at any time said, Sit thou on my right hand, until I may make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?
14 御使たちはすべて仕える霊であって、救を受け継ぐべき人々に奉仕するため、つかわされたものではないか。
Are not all these ministering spirits, having been sent forth unto ministration for the sake of those who are about to inherit salvation?
