創世記 45
1 そこでヨセフはそばに立っているすべての人の前で、自分を制しきれなくなったので、「人は皆ここから出てください」と呼ばわった。それゆえヨセフが兄弟たちに自分のことを明かした時、ひとりも彼のそばに立っている者はなかった。
Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood before him, and he called out, “Cause everyone to go out from me!” No one else stood with him, while Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
2 ヨセフは声をあげて泣いた。エジプトびとはこれを聞き、パロの家もこれを聞いた。
He wept aloud. The Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard.
3 ヨセフは兄弟たちに言った、「わたしはヨセフです。父はまだ生きながらえていますか」。兄弟たちは答えることができなかった。彼らは驚き恐れたからである。
Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Does my father still live?” His brothers could not answer him; for they were terrified at his presence.
4 ヨセフは兄弟たちに言った、「わたしに近寄ってください」。彼らが近寄ったので彼は言った、「わたしはあなたがたの弟ヨセフです。あなたがたがエジプトに売った者です。
Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.” They came near. He said, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
5 しかしわたしをここに売ったのを嘆くことも、悔むこともいりません。神は命を救うために、あなたがたよりさきにわたしをつかわされたのです。
Now do not be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.
6 この二年の間、国中にききんがあったが、なお五年の間は耕すことも刈り入れることもないでしょう。
For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are yet five years, in which there will be no plowing and no harvest.
7 神は、あなたがたのすえを地に残すため、また大いなる救をもってあなたがたの命を助けるために、わたしをあなたがたよりさきにつかわされたのです。
God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to save you alive by a great deliverance.
8 それゆえわたしをここにつかわしたのはあなたがたではなく、神です。神はわたしをパロの父とし、その全家の主とし、またエジプト全国のつかさとされました。
So now it was not you who sent me here, but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
9 あなたがたは父のもとに急ぎ上って言いなさい、『あなたの子ヨセフが、こう言いました。神がわたしをエジプト全国の主とされたから、ためらわずにわたしの所へ下ってきなさい。
Hurry, and go up to my father, and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says, “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me. Do not wait.
10 あなたはゴセンの地に住み、あなたも、あなたの子らも、孫たちも、羊も牛も、その他のものもみな、わたしの近くにおらせます。
You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you, your children, your children’s children, your flocks, your herds, and all that you have.
11 ききんはなお五年つづきますから、あなたも、家族も、その他のものも、みな困らないように、わたしはそこで養いましょう』。
There I will provide for you; for there are yet five years of famine; lest you come to poverty, you, and your household, and all that you have.”’
12 あなたがたと弟ベニヤミンが目に見るとおり、あなたがたに口ら語っているのはこのわたしです。
Behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you.
13 あなたがたはエジプトでの、わたしのいっさいの栄えと、あなたがたが見るいっさいの事をわたしの父に告げ、急いでわたしの父をここへ連れ下りなさい」。
You shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen. You shall hurry and bring my father down here.”
14 そしてヨセフは弟ベニヤミンのくびを抱いて泣き、ベニヤミンも彼のくびを抱いて泣いた。
He fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.
15 またヨセフはすべての兄弟たちに口づけし、彼らを抱いて泣いた。そして後、兄弟たちは彼と語った。
He kissed all his brothers, and wept on them. After that his brothers talked with him.
16 時に、「ヨセフの兄弟たちがきた」と言ううわさがパロの家に聞えたので、パロとその家来たちとは喜んだ。
The report of it was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying, “Joseph’s brothers have come.” It pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
17 パロはヨセフに言った、「兄弟たちに言いなさい、『あなたがたは、こうしなさい。獣に荷を負わせてカナンの地へ行き、
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals, and go, travel to the land of Canaan.
18 父と家族とを連れてわたしのもとへきなさい。わたしはあなたがたに、エジプトの地の良い物を与えます。あなたがたは、この国の最も良いものを食べるでしょう』。
Take your father and your households, and come to me, and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.’
19 また彼らに命じなさい、『あなたがたは、こうしなさい。幼な子たちと妻たちのためにエジプトの地から車をもって行き、父を連れてきなさい。
Now you are commanded to do this: Take wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
20 家財に心を引かれてはなりません。エジプト全国の良い物は、あなたがたのものだからです』」。
Also, do not concern yourselves about your belongings, for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.”
21 イスラエルの子らはそのようにした。ヨセフはパロの命に従って彼らに車を与え、また途中の食料をも与えた。
The sons of Israel did so. Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
22 まためいめいに晴着を与えたが、ベニヤミンには銀三百シケルと晴着五着とを与えた。
He gave each one of them changes of clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.
23 また彼は父に次のようなものを贈った。すなわちエジプトの良い物を負わせたろば十頭と、穀物、パン及び父の道中の食料を負わせた雌ろば十頭。
He sent the following to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and provision for his father by the way.
24 こうしてヨセフは兄弟たちを送り去らせ、彼らに言った、「途中で争ってはなりません」。
So he sent his brothers away, and they departed. He said to them, “See that you do not quarrel on the way.”
25 彼らはエジプトから上ってカナンの地に入り、父ヤコブのもとへ行って、
They went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father.
26 彼に言った、「ヨセフはなお生きていてエジプト全国のつかさです」。ヤコブは気が遠くなった。彼らの言うことが信じられなかったからである。
They told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” His heart fainted, for he did not believe them.
27 そこで彼らはヨセフが語った言葉を残らず彼に告げた。父ヤコブはヨセフが自分を乗せるために送った車を見て元気づいた。
They told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them. When he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived.
28 そしてイスラエルは言った、「満足だ。わが子ヨセフがまだ生きている。わたしは死ぬ前に行って彼を見よう」。
Israel said, “It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
