創世記 36
1 エサウ、すなわちエドムの系図は次のとおりである。
Now these [are] the generations of Esau, who [is] Edom.
2 エサウはカナンの娘たちのうちから妻をめとった。すなわちヘテびとエロンの娘アダと、ヒビびとヂベオンの子アナの娘アホリバマとである。
Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 また、イシマエルの娘ネバヨテの妹バスマテをめとった。
And Bashemath, Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
4 アダはエリパズをエサウに産み、バスマテはリウエルを産み、
And Adah bore to Esau, Eliphaz; and Bashemath bore Reuel;
5 アホリバマはエウシ、ヤラム、コラを産んだ。これらはエサウの子であって、カナンの地で彼に生れた者である。
And Aholibamah bore Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: These [are] the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 エサウは妻と子と娘と家のすべての人、家畜とすべての獣、またカナンの地で獲たすべての財産を携え、兄弟ヤコブを離れてほかの地へ行った。
And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance which he had acquired in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.
7 彼らの財産が多くて、一緒にいることができなかったからである。すなわち彼らが寄留した地は彼らの家畜のゆえに、彼らをささえることができなかったのである。
For their riches were more than that they might dwell together: and the land wherein they were strangers could not sustain them, because of their cattle.
8 こうしてエサウはセイルの山地に住んだ。エサウはすなわちエドムである。
Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau [is] Edom.
9 セイルの山地におったエドムびとの先祖エサウの系図は次のとおりである。
And these [are] the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites, in mount Seir:
10 エサウの子らの名は次のとおりである。すなわちエサウの妻アダの子はエリパズ。エサウの妻バスマテの子はリウエル。
These [are] the names of Esau's sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.
11 エリパズの子らはテマン、オマル、ゼポ、ガタム、ケナズである。
And the sons of Eliphaz were, Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 テムナはエサウの子エリパズのそばめで、アマレクをエリパズに産んだ。これらはエサウの妻アダの子らである。
And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek: these [were] the sons of Adah Esau's wife.
13 リウエルの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちナハテ、ゼラ、シャンマ、ミザであって、これらはエサウの妻バスマテの子らである。
And these [are] the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.
14 ヂベオンの子アナの娘で、エサウの妻アホリバマの子らは次のとおりである。すなわち彼女はエウシ、ヤラム、コラをエサウに産んだ。
And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon Esau's wife: and she bore to Esau, Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
15 エサウの子らの中で、族長たる者は次のとおりである。すなわちエサウの長子エリパズの子らはテマンの族長、オマルの族長、ゼポの族長、ケナズの族長、
These [were] dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the first-born [son] of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,
16 コラの族長、ガタムの族長、アマレクの族長である。これらはエリパズから出た族長で、エドムの地におった。これらはアダの子らである。
Duke Korah, duke Gatam, [and] duke Amalek: these [are] the dukes, [descendants] of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom: these [were] the sons of Adah.
17 エサウの子リウエルの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちナハテの族長、ゼラの族長、シャンマの族長、ミザの族長。これらはリウエルから出た族長で、エドムの地におった。これらはエサウの妻バスマテの子らである。
And these [are] the sons of Reuel Esau's son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these [are] the dukes, [descendants] of Reuel, in the land of Edom: these [are] the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.
18 エサウの妻アホリバマの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちエウシの族長、ヤラムの族長、コラの族長。これらはアナの娘で、エサウの妻アホリバマから出た族長である。
And these [are] the sons of Aholibamah Esau's wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these [were] the dukes, [descendants] of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah Esau's wife.
19 これらはエサウすなわちエドムの子らで、族長たる者である。
These [are] the sons of Esau (who [is] Edom) and these [are] their dukes.
20 この地の住民ホリびとセイルの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちロタン、ショバル、ヂベオン、アナ、
These [are] the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah.
21 デション、エゼル、デシャン。これらはセイルの子ホリびとから出た族長で、エドムの地におった。
And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these [are] the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 ロタンの子らはホリ、ヘマムであり、ロタンの妹はテムナであった。
And the children of Lotan were Hori, and Heman: and Lotan's sister [was] Timna.
23 ショバルの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちアルワン、マナハテ、エバル、シポ、オナム。
And the children of Shobal [were] these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 ヂベオンの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちアヤとアナ。このアナは父ヂベオンのろばを飼っていた時、荒野で温泉を発見した者である。
And these [are] the children of Zibeon; both Ajah and Anah; this [was that] Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
25 アナの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちデションとアホリバマ。アホリバマはアナの娘である。
And the children of Anah [were] these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26 デションの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちヘムダン、エシバン、イテラン、ケラン。
And these [are] the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 エゼルの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちビルハン、ザワン、アカン。
The children of Ezer [are] these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Achan.
28 デシャンの子らは次のとおりである。すなわちウズとアラン。
The children of Dishan [are] these; Uz, and Aran.
29 ホリびとから出た族長は次のとおりである。すなわちロタンの族長、ショバルの族長、ヂベオンの族長、アナの族長、
These [are] the dukes, [descendants] of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,
30 デションの族長、エゼルの族長、デシャンの族長。これらはホリびとから出た族長であって、その氏族に従ってセイルの地におった者である。
Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan; these [are] the dukes, [descendants] of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.
31 イスラエルの人々を治める王がまだなかった時、エドムの地を治めた王たちは次のとおりである。
And these [are] the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
32 ベオルの子ベラはエドムを治め、その都の名はデナバであった。
And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city [was] Dinhabah.
33 ベラが死んで、ボズラのゼラの子ヨバブがこれに代って王となった。
And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
34 ヨバブが死んで、テマンびとの地のホシャムがこれに代って王となった。
And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.
35 ホシャムが死んで、ベダデの子ハダデがこれに代って王となった。彼はモアブの野でミデアンを撃った者である。その都の名はアビテであった。
And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad (who smote Midian in the field of Moab) reigned in his stead: and the name of his city [was] Avith.
36 ハダデが死んで、マスレカのサムラがこれに代って王となった。
And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
37 サムラが死んでユフラテ川のほとりにあるレホボテのサウルがこれに代って王となった。
And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth [by] the river reigned in his stead.
38 サウルが死んでアクボルの子バアル・ハナンがこれに代って王となった。
And Saul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
39 アクボルの子バアル・ハナンが死んで、ハダルがこれに代って王となった。その都の名はパウであった。その妻の名はメヘタベルといって、メザハブの娘マテレデの娘であった。
And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead; and the name of his city [was] Pau; and his wife's name [was] Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
40 エサウから出た族長の名は、その氏族と住所と名に従って言えば次のとおりである。すなわちテムナの族長、アルワの族長、エテテの族長、
And these [are] the names of the dukes, [descendants] of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,
41 アホリバマの族長、エラの族長、ピノンの族長、
Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
42 ケナズの族長、テマンの族長、ミブザルの族長、
Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar.
43 マグデエルの族長、イラムの族長。これらはエドムの族長たちであって、その領地内の住所に従っていったものである。エドムびとの先祖はエサウである。
Duke Magdiel, duke Iram; these [are] the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations, in the land of their possession: he [is] Esau the father of the Edomites.
