エゼキエル書 36
1 人の子よ、イスラエルの山々に預言して言え。イスラエルの山々よ、主の言葉を聞け。
Also, thou son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say: Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.
2 主なる神はこう言われる、敵はあなたがたについて言う、『ああ、昔の高き所が、われわれのものとなった』と。
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said concerning you, “Aha! the everlasting heights have become our possession”;
3 それゆえ、あなたは預言して言え。主なる神はこう言われる、彼らはあなたがたを荒し、四方からあなたがたを打ち滅ぼしたので、あなたがたは他の国民の所有となり、また民の悪いうわさとなった。
therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, so that ye have become a possession to the residue of the nations, and a subject for the lips of talkers, and a derision to the people;
4 それゆえ、イスラエルの山々よ、主なる神の言葉を聞け。主なる神は、山と、丘と、くぼ地と、谷と、滅びた荒れ跡と、人の捨てた町々、すなわちその周囲にある諸国民の残った者にかすめられ、あざけられるようになったものに、こう言われる。
therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, to the mountains and the hills, the valleys and the plain, to the desolate wastes and to the forsaken cities, which are become a prey and a derision to the residue of the nations which are round about, —
5 主なる神はこう言われる、わたしはねたみの炎をもって、他の国民とエドム全国とに対して言う、彼らは心ゆくまで喜び、心に誇ってわが地を自分の所有とし、これを奪い、かすめた者である。
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, who have allotted my land to themselves for a possession, with joy of their whole heart, and with a despiteful mind, to cast it out for a prey.
6 それゆえ、あなたはイスラエルの地の事を預言し、山と、丘と、くぼ地と、谷とに言え。主なる神はこう言われる、見よ、あなたがたは諸国民のはずかしめを受けたので、わたしはねたみと怒りとをもって語る。
Prophesy, therefore, concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the valleys and the plains, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the reproach of the nations.
7 それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、わたしは誓って言う、あなたがたの周囲の諸国民は必ずはずかしめを受ける。
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have lifted up my hand, that the nations that are round about you, that they shall bear their reproach.
8 しかしイスラエルの山々よ、あなたがたは枝を出し、わが民イスラエルのために実を結ぶ。この事の成るのは近い。
But ye, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches, and bear your fruit for my people Israel; for they are near coming.
9 見よ、わたしはあなたがたに臨み、あなたがたを顧みる。あなたがたは耕され、種をまかれる。
For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and ye shall be tilled and sown;
10 わたしはあなたがたの上に人をふやす。これはことごとくイスラエルの家の者となり、町々には人が住み、荒れ跡は建て直される。
and I will multiply men upon you, even all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.
11 わたしはあなたがたの上に人と獣とをふやす。彼らはふえて、子を生む。わたしはあなたがたの上に、昔のように人を住ませ、初めの時よりも、まさる恵みをあなたがたに施す。その時あなたがたは、わたしが主であることを悟る。
I will multiply men upon you, and beasts; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited as of old, and will do better to you than in the ancient time; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.
12 わたしはわが民イスラエルの人々をあなたがたの上に歩ませる。彼らはあなたがたを所有し、あなたがたはその嗣業となり、あなたがたは重ねて彼らに子のない嘆きをさせない。
Yea, I will cause men, even my people Israel, to walk upon you, and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.
13 主なる神はこう言われる、彼らはあなたがたに向かって、『あなたは人を食い、あなたの民に子のない嘆きをさせる』と言う。
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say of you, “Thou hast devoured men, and made thy people childless!”
14 あなたはもはや人を食わない。あなたの民に重ねて子のない嘆きをさせることはないと、主なる神は言われる。
therefore thou shalt devour men no more, and no more make thy people childless, saith the Lord Jehovah.
15 わたしは重ねて諸国民のはずかしめをあなたに聞かせない。あなたは重ねて、もろもろの民のはずかしめを受けることはなく、あなたの民を重ねてつまずかせることはないと、主なる神は言われる」。
Neither will I cause the reproach of the nations to be heard against thee any more, neither shalt thou bear the derision of the nations any more, neither shalt thou make thy nation childless any more, saith the lord Jehovah.
16 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
Moreover, the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
17 「人の子よ、昔、イスラエルの家が、自分の国に住んだとき、彼らはおのれのおこないとわざとをもって、これを汚した。そのおこないは、わたしの前には、汚れにある女の汚れのようであった。
Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings; their way before me was as the impurity of an unclean woman.
18 彼らが国に血を流し、またその偶像をもって、国を汚したため、わたしはわが怒りを彼らの上に注ぎ、
Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood which they had shed in the land, and because they had polluted it with their idols.
19 彼らを諸国民の中に散らしたので、彼らは国々の中に散った。わたしは彼らのおこないと、わざとにしたがって、彼らをさばいた。
And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
20 彼らがその行くところの国々へ行ったとき、わが聖なる名を汚した。これは人々が彼らについて『これは主の民であるが、その国から出た者である』と言ったからである。
And when they came to the nations whither they went, they polluted my holy name, in that it was said of them, “These are the people of Jehovah, and they are gone forth out of his land.”
21 しかしわたしはイスラエルの家が、その行くところの諸国民の中で汚したわが聖なる名を惜しんだ。
Therefore I will have regard to my holy name, which the house of Israel have polluted among the nations whither they are gone.
22 それゆえ、あなたはイスラエルの家に言え。主なる神はこう言われる、イスラエルの家よ、わたしがすることはあなたがたのためではない。それはあなたがたが行った諸国民の中で汚した、わが聖なる名のためである。
Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Not for your own sakes do I this, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have polluted among the nations whither ye are gone.
23 わたしは諸国民の中で汚されたもの、すなわち、あなたがたが彼らの中で汚した、わが大いなる名の聖なることを示す。わたしがあなたがたによって、彼らの目の前に、わたしの聖なることを示す時、諸国民はわたしが主であることを悟ると、主なる神は言われる。
And I will sanctify my great name, which hath been polluted among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall be sanctified in regard to you, before their eyes, saith the Lord Jehovah.
24 わたしはあなたがたを諸国民の中から導き出し、万国から集めて、あなたがたの国に行かせる。
For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
25 わたしは清い水をあなたがたに注いで、すべての汚れから清め、またあなたがたを、すべての偶像から清める。
Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean. From all your uncleanness and from all your idols will I cleanse you.
26 わたしは新しい心をあなたがたに与え、新しい霊をあなたがたの内に授け、あなたがたの肉から、石の心を除いて、肉の心を与える。
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take out of your body the heart of stone, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 わたしはまたわが霊をあなたがたのうちに置いて、わが定めに歩ませ、わがおきてを守ってこれを行わせる。
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my commandments and do them.
28 あなたがたは、わたしがあなたがたの先祖に与えた地に住んで、わが民となり、わたしはあなたがたの神となる。
And ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 わたしはあなたがたをそのすべての汚れから救い、穀物を呼びよせてこれを増し、ききんをあなたがたに臨ませない。
And I will save you from all your uncleanness. And I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and bring no famine upon you.
30 またわたしは木の実と、田畑の作物とを多くする。あなたがたは重ねて諸国民の間に、ききんのはずかしめを受けることがない。
And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 その時あなたがたは自身の悪しきおこないと、良からぬわざとを覚えて、その罪と、その憎むべきこととのために、みずから恨む。
Then shall ye remember your evil ways, and your doings which were not good, and ye shall loathe yourselves for your iniquities, and for your abominations.
32 わたしがなすことはあなたがたのためではないと、主なる神は言われる。あなたがたはこれを知れ。イスラエルの家よ、あなたがたは自分のおこないを恥じて悔やむべきである。
Not for your own sakes do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known to you. Be ye ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel!
33 主なる神はこう言われる、わたしは、あなたがたのすべての罪を清める日に、町々に人を住ませ、その荒れ跡を建て直す。
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities, then will I cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places to be rebuilt;
34 荒れた地は、行き来の人々の目に荒れ地と見えたのに引きかえて耕される。
and the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35 そこで人々は言う、『この荒れた地は、エデンの園のようになった。荒れ、滅び、くずれた町々は、堅固になり、人の住む所となった』と。
Then shall it be said, “This land, that was desolate, is become as the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.”
36 あなたがたの周囲に残った諸国民は主なるわたしがくずれた所を建て直し、荒れた所にものを植えたということを悟るようになる。主なるわたしがこれを言い、これをなすのである。
Then the nations that are left around you shall know that I, Jehovah, have built that which was ruined, and planted that which was desolate. I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and I will do it.
37 主なる神はこう言われる、イスラエルの家は、わたしが次のことを彼らのためにするように、わたしに求めるべきである。すなわち人を群れのようにふやすこと、
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Yet will I listen to the house of Israel, and do this for them. I will increase
38 すなわち犠牲のための群れのように、エルサレムの祝い日の群れのようにすることである。こうして荒れた町々は人の群れで満ちる。その時人々は、わたしが主であることを悟るようになる」。
them with men like a flock; as the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
