エゼキエル書 21
1 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 「人の子よ、あなたの顔をエルサレムに向け、あなたの言葉を聖所に向けてのべ、イスラエルの地に向かって預言し、
Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and drop your word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
3 イスラエルの地に言え。主はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはあなたを攻め、わたしのつるぎをさやから抜き、あなたのうちから、正しい者も悪しき者をも断ってしまう。
And say to the land of Israel, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I am against you, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.
4 わたしがあなたのうちから、正しい者も悪しき者をも断つゆえに、わたしのつるぎはさやから抜け出て、南から北までのすべての肉なる者を攻める。
Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
5 すべて肉なる者は、主なるわたしが、そのつるぎをさやから抜き放ったことを知る。このつるぎは再びさやに納められない。
That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
6 それゆえ、人の子よ、嘆け、心砕けるまでに嘆き、彼らの目の前でいたく嘆け。
Sigh therefore, you son of man, with the breaking of your loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
7 人があなたに向かって、『なぜ嘆くのか』と言うなら、『この知らせのためである。それが来れば人の心はみな溶け、手はみななえ、霊はみな弱り、ひざはみな水のようになる。見よ、それは来る、必ず成就する』と言え」と主なる神は言われる。
And it shall be, when they say unto you, Wherefore sigh you? that you shall answer, For the tidings; because it comes: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it comes, and shall be brought to pass, says the Lord GOD.
8 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
9 「人の子よ、預言して言え、主はこう言われる、つるぎがある、とぎ、かつ、みがいたつるぎがある。
Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
10 殺すためにといであり、いなずまのようにきらめくためにみがいてある。わたしたちは喜ぶことができるか。わが子よ、あなたはつえと、すべて木で作ったものとを軽んじた。
It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make delight? it despises the rod of my son, as every tree.
11 このつるぎは手にとるために、とがれ、殺す者の手に渡すために、とがれみがかれるのである。
And he has given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
12 人の子よ、叫び嘆け、このことはわが民に臨み、イスラエルのすべての君たちに臨むからである。彼らはわが民と共につるぎにわたされる。それゆえ、あなたのももを打て。
Cry and wail, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: strike therefore upon your thigh.
13 これはためしにすることではない。もしあなたが、つえをあざけったら、どういうことになろうか」と主なる神は言われる。
Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, says the Lord GOD.
14 「それゆえ、人の子よ、あなたは預言し、手を打ちならせ。つるぎを二度も三度も臨ませよ。これは人を殺すつるぎ、大いに殺すつるぎであって、彼らを囲むものである。
You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike your hands together. and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which enters into their privy chambers.
15 これがために彼らの心は溶け、多くの者がすべての門に倒れる。わたしはひらめくつるぎを彼らに送る。ああ、これはいなずまのようになり、人を殺すためにみがかれている。
I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
16 あなたの刃の向かうところで、右に左になぎ倒せ。
Go you one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, anywhere your face is set.
17 わたしもまた、わたしの手を打ちならし、わたしの怒りをしずめると、主なるわたしは言った」。
I will also strike mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.
18 主の言葉がまたわたしに臨んだ、
The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
19 「人の子よ、バビロンの王のつるぎが来るために、二つの道を備えよ。この二つの道は一つの国から出ている。あなたは道しるべを作り、これを町に向かう道のはじめに置け。
Also, you son of man, appoint you two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both two shall come forth out of one land: and choose you a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.
20 あなたはまたアンモンの人々のラバと、ユダと、堅固な城の町エルサレムとにつるぎの来る道を設けよ。
Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
21 バビロンの王は道の分れ目、二つの道のはじめに立って占いをし、矢をふり、テラピムに問い、肝を見る。
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
22 彼の右にエルサレムのために占いが出る。すなわち口を開いて叫び、声をあげ、ときを作り、門に向かって城くずしを設け、塁を築き、雲悌を建てよと言う。
At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
23 しかしこれは彼らの目には偽りの占いと思われ、彼らは堅き誓いをなした。しかし彼は、彼らを捕えることによって、罪を思い出させる。
And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
24 それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたの罪は覚えられ、その反逆は現れ、その罪はすべてのわざに現れる。このようにあなたがたは、すでに覚えられているから、彼らの手に捕えられる。
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because all of you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that all of you are come to remembrance, all of you shall be taken with the hand.
25 汚れた悪人であるイスラエルの君よ、あなたの終りの刑罰の時であるその日が来る。
And you, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come, when iniquity shall have an end,
26 主なる神はこう言われる、かぶり物を脱ぎ、冠を取り離せ。すべてのものは、そのままには残らない。卑しい者は高くされ、高い者は卑しくされる。
Thus says the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and bring low him that is high.
27 ああ破滅、破滅、破滅、わたしはこれをこさせる。わたしが与える権威をもつ者が来る時まで、その跡形さえも残らない。
I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it him.
28 人の子よ、預言して言え。主なる神はアンモンの人々と、そのあざけりについて、こう言われる、つるぎがある。このつるぎは殺すために抜かれ、いなずまのようにひかりきらめくようにとがれている。
And you, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say you, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
29 彼らがあなたに偽りの幻を示し、偽りを占ったゆえ、これは殺さるべき悪しき者の首の上に置かれる。彼らの終りの刑罰の時であるその日がきている。
While they see vanity unto you, while they divine a lie unto you, to bring you upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day has come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
30 これをさやに納めよ、わたしはあなたの造られた所、あなたの生れた地であなたをさばく。
Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge you in the place where you were created, in the land of your nativity.
31 わたしの怒りをあなたに注ぎ、わたしの憤りの火をあなたに向けて燃やし、滅ぼすことに巧みな残忍な人の手にあなたを渡す。
And I will pour out mine indignation upon you, I will blow against you in the fire of my wrath, and deliver you into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
32 あなたは火のための、たきぎとなり、あなたの血は国の中に流され、覚えられることはない、主なるわたしが言う」。
You shall be for fuel to the fire; your blood shall be in the midst of the land; you shall be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
