エゼキエル書 1
1 第三十年四月五日に、わたしがケバル川のほとりで、捕囚の人々のうちにいた時、天が開けて、神の幻を見た。
NOW IT came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
2 これはエホヤキン王の捕え移された第五年であって、その月の五日に、
In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
3 主の言葉がケバル川のほとり、カルデヤびとの地でブジの子祭司エゼキエルに臨み、主の手がその所で彼の上にあった。
the word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
4 わたしが見ていると、見よ、激しい風と大いなる雲が北から来て、その周囲に輝きがあり、たえず火を吹き出していた。その火の中に青銅のように輝くものがあった。
And I looked, and, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with a fire flashing up, so that a brightness was round about it; and out of the midst thereof as the colour of electrum, out of the midst of the fire.
5 またその中から四つの生きものの形が出てきた。その様子はこうである。彼らは人の姿をもっていた。
And out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.
6 おのおの四つの顔をもち、またそのおのおのに四つの翼があった。
And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
7 その足はまっすぐで、足のうらは子牛の足のうらのようであり、みがいた青銅のように光っていた。
And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot; and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
8 その四方に、そのおのおのの翼の下に人の手があった。この四つの者はみな顔と翼をもち、
And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and as for the faces and wings of them four,
9 翼は互に連なり、行く時は回らずに、おのおの顔の向かうところにまっすぐに進んだ。
their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
10 顔の形は、おのおのその前方に人の顔をもっていた。四つの者は右の方に、ししの顔をもち、四つの者は左の方に牛の顔をもち、また四つの者は後ろの方に、わしの顔をもっていた。
As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man; and they four had the face of a lion on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four had also the face of an eagle.
11 彼らの顔はこのようであった。その翼は高く伸ばされ、その二つは互に連なり、他の二つをもってからだをおおっていた。
Thus were their faces; and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
12 彼らはおのおのその顔の向かうところへまっすぐに行き、霊の行くところへ彼らも行き、その行く時は回らない。
And they went every one straight forward; whither the spirit was to go, they went; they turned not when they went.
13 この生きもののうちには燃える炭の火のようなものがあり、たいまつのように、生きものの中を行き来している。火は輝いて、その火から、いなずまが出ていた。
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like coals of fire, burning like the appearance of torches; it flashed up and down among the living creatures; and there was brightness to the fire, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
14 生きものは、いなずまのひらめきのように速く行き来していた。
And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
15 わたしが生きものを見ていると、生きもののかたわら、地の上に輪があった。四つの生きものおのおのに、一つずつの輪である。
Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel at the bottom hard by the living creatures, at the four faces thereof.
16 もろもろの輪の形と作りは、光る貴かんらん石のようである。四つのものは同じ形で、その作りは、あたかも、輪の中に輪があるようである。
The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl; and they four had one likeness; and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel.
17 その行く時、彼らは四方のいずれかに行き、行く時は回らない。
When they went, they went toward their four sides; they turned not when they went.
18 四つの輪には輪縁と輻とがあり、その輪縁の周囲は目をもって満たされていた。
As for their rings, they were high and they were dreadful; and they four had their rings full of eyes round about.
19 生きものが行く時には、輪もそのかたわらに行き、生きものが地からあがる時は、輪もあがる。
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went hard by them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the bottom, the wheels were lifted up.
20 霊の行く所には彼らも行き、輪は彼らに伴ってあがる。生きものの霊が輪の中にあるからである。
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, as the spirit was to go thither, so they went; and the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
21 彼らが行く時は、これらも行き、彼らがとどまる時は、これらもとどまり、彼らが地からあがる時は、輪もまたこれらと共にあがる。生きものの霊が輪の中にあるからである。
When those went, these went, and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
22 生きものの頭の上に水晶のように輝く大空の形があって、彼らの頭の上に広がっている。、
And over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of a firmament, like the colour of the terrible ice, stretched forth over their heads above.
23 大空の下にはまっすぐに伸ばした翼があり、たがいに相連なり、生きものはおのおの二つの翼をもって、からだをおおっている。
And under the firmament were their wings conformable the one to the other; this one of them had two which covered, and that one of them had two which covered, their bodies.
24 その行く時、わたしは大水の声、全能者の声のような翼の声を聞いた。その声の響きは大軍の声のようで、そのとどまる時は翼をたれる。
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of a host; when they stood, they let down their wings.
25 また彼らの頭の上の大空から声があった。彼らが立ちとどまる時は翼をおろした。
For, when there was a voice above the firmament that was over their heads, as they stood, they let down their wings.
26 彼らの頭の上の大空の上に、サファイヤのような位の形があった。またその位の形の上に、人の姿のような形があった。
And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man upon it above.
27 そしてその腰とみえる所の上の方に、火の形のような光る青銅の色のものが、これを囲んでいるのを見た。わたしはその腰とみえる所の下の方に、火のようなものを見た。そして彼のまわりに輝きがあった。
And I saw as the colour of electrum, as the appearance of fire round about enclosing it, from the appearance of his loins and upward; and from the appearance of his loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about him.
28 そのまわりにある輝きのさまは、雨の日に雲に起るにじのようであった。主の栄光の形のさまは、このようであった。わたしはこれを見て、わたしの顔をふせたとき、語る者の声を聞いた。
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.
