出エジプト記 9
1 主はモーセに言われた、「パロのもとに行って、彼に言いなさい、『ヘブルびとの神、主はこう仰せられる、「わたしの民を去らせて、わたしに仕えさせなさい。
Then the LORD said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
2 あなたがもし彼らを去らせることを拒んで、なお彼らを留めおくならば、
For if you refuse to let them go, and will hold them still,
3 主の手は最も激しい疫病をもって、野にいるあなたの家畜、すなわち馬、ろば、らくだ、牛、羊の上に臨むであろう。
Behold, the hand of the LORD is on your cattle which is in the field, on the horses, on the asses, on the camels, on the oxen, and on the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
4 しかし、主はイスラエルの家畜と、エジプトの家畜を区別され、すべてイスラエルの人々に属するものには一頭も死ぬものがないであろう」と』」。
And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children’s of Israel.
5 主は、また、時を定めて仰せられた、「あす、主はこのことを国に行うであろう」。
And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
6 あくる日、主はこのことを行われたので、エジプトびとの家畜はみな死んだ。しかし、イスラエルの人々の家畜は一頭も死ななかった。
And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
7 パロは人をつかわして見させたが、イスラエルの家畜は一頭も死んでいなかった。それでもパロの心はかたくなで、民を去らせなかった。
And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 主はモーセとアロンに言われた、「あなたがたは、かまどのすすを両手いっぱい取り、それをモーセはパロの目の前で天にむかって、まき散らしなさい。
And the LORD said to Moses and to Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
9 それはエジプトの全国にわたって、細かいちりとなり、エジプト全国で人と獣に付いて、うみの出るはれものとなるであろう」。
And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains on man, and on beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
10 そこで彼らは、かまどのすすを取ってパロの前に立ち、モーセは天にむかってこれをまき散らしたので、人と獣に付いて、うみの出るはれものとなった。
And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains on man, and on beast.
11 魔術師らは、はれもののためにモーセの前に立つことができなかった。はれものが魔術師らと、すべてのエジプトびとに生じたからである。
And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was on the magicians, and on all the Egyptians.
12 しかし、主はパロの心をかたくなにされたので、彼は主がモーセに語られたように、彼らの言うことを聞かなかった。
And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he listened not to them; as the LORD had spoken to Moses.
13 主はまたモーセに言われた、「朝早く起き、パロの前に立って、彼に言いなさい、『ヘブルびとの神、主はこう仰せられる、「わたしの民を去らせて、わたしに仕えさせなさい。
And the LORD said to Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say to him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
14 わたしは、こんどは、もろもろの災を、あなたと、あなたの家来と、あなたの民にくだし、わたしに並ぶものが全地にないことを知らせるであろう。
For I will at this time send all my plagues on your heart, and on your servants, and on your people; that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth.
15 わたしがもし、手をさし伸べ、疫病をもって、あなたと、あなたの民を打っていたならば、あなたは地から断ち滅ぼされていたであろう。
For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite you and your people with pestilence; and you shall be cut off from the earth.
16 しかし、わたしがあなたをながらえさせたのは、あなたにわたしの力を見させるため、そして、わたしの名が全地に宣べ伝えられるためにほかならない。
And in very deed for this cause have I raised you up, for to show in you my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
17 それに、あなたはなお、わたしの民にむかって、おのれを高くし、彼らを去らせようとしない。
As yet exalt you yourself against my people, that you will not let them go?
18 ゆえに、あすの今ごろ、わたしは恐ろしく大きな雹を降らせるであろう。それはエジプトの国が始まった日から今まで、かつてなかったほどのものである。
Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
19 それゆえ、いま、人をやって、あなたの家畜と、あなたが野にもっているすべてのものを、のがれさせなさい。人も獣も、すべて野にあって家に帰らないものは降る雹に打たれて死ぬであろう」と』」。
Send therefore now, and gather your cattle, and all that you have in the field; for on every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down on them, and they shall die.
20 パロの家来のうち、主の言葉をおそれる者は、そのしもべと家畜を家にのがれさせたが、
He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
21 主の言葉を意にとめないものは、そのしもべと家畜を野に残しておいた。
And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.
22 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたの手を天にむかってさし伸べ、エジプトの全国にわたって、エジプトの地にいる人と獣と畑のすべての青物の上に雹を降らせなさい」。
And the LORD said to Moses, Stretch forth your hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
23 モーセが天にむかってつえをさし伸べると、主は雷と雹をおくられ、火は地にむかって、はせ下った。こうして主は、雹をエジプトの地に降らされた。
And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along on the ground; and the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt.
24 そして雹が降り、雹の間に火がひらめき渡った。雹は恐ろしく大きく、エジプト全国には、国をなしてこのかた、かつてないものであった。
So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25 雹はエジプト全国にわたって、すべて畑にいる人と獣を打った。雹はまた畑のすべての青物を打ち、野のもろもろの木を折り砕いた。
And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.
26 ただイスラエルの人々のいたゴセンの地には、雹が降らなかった。
Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
27 そこで、パロは人をつかわし、モーセとアロンを召して言った、「わたしはこんどは罪を犯した。主は正しく、わたしと、わたしの民は悪い。
And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
28 主に祈願してください。この雷と雹はもうじゅうぶんです。わたしはあなたがたを去らせます。もはやとどまらなくてもよろしい」。
Entreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunder and hail; and I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.
29 モーセは彼に言った、「わたしは町を出ると、すぐ、主にむかってわたしの手を伸べひろげます。すると雷はやみ、雹はもはや降らなくなり、あなたは、地が主のものであることを知られましょう。
And Moses said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know how that the earth is the LORD’s.
30 しかし、あなたとあなたの家来たちは、なお、神なる主を恐れないことを、わたしは知っています」。
But as for you and your servants, I know that you will not yet fear the LORD God.
31 亜麻と大麦は打ち倒された。大麦は穂を出し、亜麻は花が咲いていたからである。
And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom.
32 小麦とスペルタ麦はおくてであるため打ち倒されなかった。
But the wheat and the rye were not smitten: for they were not grown up.
33 モーセはパロのもとを去り、町を出て、主にむかって手を伸べひろげたので、雷と雹はやみ、雨は地に降らなくなった。
And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands to the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.
34 ところがパロは雨と雹と雷がやんだのを見て、またも罪を犯し、心をかたくなにした。彼も家来も、そうであった。
And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
35 すなわちパロは心をかたくなにし、主がモーセによって語られたように、イスラエルの人々を去らせなかった。
And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
