出エジプト記 7
1 主はモーセに言われた、「見よ、わたしはあなたをパロに対して神のごときものとする。あなたの兄弟アロンはあなたの預言者となるであろう。
And YHWH says to Moses, “See, I have given you [as] a god to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron is your prophet;
2 あなたはわたしが命じることを、ことごとく彼に告げなければならない。そしてあなたの兄弟アロンはパロに告げて、イスラエルの人々をその国から去らせるようにさせなければならない。
you speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron speaks to Pharaoh, and he has sent the sons of Israel out of his land.
3 しかし、わたしはパロの心をかたくなにするので、わたしのしるしと不思議をエジプトの国に多く行っても、
And I harden the heart of Pharaoh, and have multiplied My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt,
4 パロはあなたがたの言うことを聞かないであろう。それでわたしは手をエジプトの上に加え、大いなるさばきをくだして、わたしの軍団、わたしの民イスラエルの人々を、エジプトの国から導き出すであろう。
and Pharaoh does not listen, and I have put My hand on Egypt, and have brought out My hosts, My people, the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments;
5 わたしが手をエジプトの上にさし伸べて、イスラエルの人々を彼らのうちから導き出す時、エジプトびとはわたしが主であることを知るようになるであろう」。
and the Egyptians have known that I [am] YHWH, in My stretching out My hand against Egypt; and I have brought out the sons of Israel from their midst.”
6 モーセとアロンはそのように行った。すなわち主が彼らに命じられたように行った。
And Moses does—Aaron also—as YHWH commanded them; so have they done;
7 彼らがパロと語った時、モーセは八十歳、アロンは八十三歳であった。
and Moses [is] a son of eighty years, and Aaron [is] a son of eighty-three years, in their speaking to Pharaoh.
8 主はモーセとアロンに言われた、
And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
9 「パロがあなたがたに、『不思議をおこなって証拠を示せ』と言う時、あなたはアロンに言いなさい、『あなたのつえを取って、パロの前に投げなさい』と。するとそれはへびになるであろう」。
“When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, Give a wonder for yourselves; then you have said to Aaron, Take your rod and cast [it] before Pharaoh—it becomes a dragon.”
10 それで、モーセとアロンはパロのところに行き、主の命じられたとおりにおこなった。すなわちアロンはそのつえを、パロとその家来たちの前に投げると、それはへびになった。
And Moses goes in—Aaron also—to Pharaoh, and they do so as YHWH has commanded; and Aaron casts his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it becomes a dragon.
11 そこでパロもまた知者と魔法使を召し寄せた。これらのエジプトの魔術師らもまた、その秘術をもって同じように行った。
And Pharaoh also calls for wise men and for sorcerers; and the enchanters of Egypt, they also, with their [enchanting] flames, do so,
12 すなわち彼らは、おのおのそのつえを投げたが、それらはへびになった。しかし、アロンのつえは彼らのつえを、のみつくした。
and they each cast down his rod, and they become dragons, and the rod of Aaron swallows their rods;
13 けれども、パロの心はかたくなになって、主の言われたように、彼らの言うことを聞かなかった。
and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he has not listened to them, as YHWH has spoken.
14 主はモーセに言われた、「パロの心はかたくなで、彼は民を去らせることを拒んでいる。
And YHWH says to Moses, “The heart of Pharaoh has been hard, he has refused to send the people away;
15 あなたは、あすの朝、パロのところに行きなさい。見よ、彼は水のところに出ている。あなたは、へびに変ったあのつえを手に執り、ナイル川の岸に立って彼に会い、
go to Pharaoh in the morning, behold, he is going out to the water, and you have stood to meet him by the edge of the River, and the rod which was turned to a serpent you take in your hand,
16 そして彼に言いなさい、『ヘブルびとの神、主がわたしをあなたにつかわして言われます、「わたしの民を去らせ、荒野で、わたしに仕えるようにさせよ」と。しかし今もなお、あなたが聞きいれようとされないので、
and you have said to him: YHWH, God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, Send My people away, and they serve Me in the wilderness; and behold, you have not listened until now.
17 主はこう仰せられます、「これによってわたしが主であることを、あなたは知るでしょう。見よ、わたしが手にあるつえでナイル川の水を打つと、それは血に変るであろう。
Thus said YHWH: By this you know that I [am] YHWH; behold, I am striking with the rod which [is] in my hand, on the waters which [are] in the River, and they have been turned to blood,
18 そして川の魚は死に、川は臭くなり、エジプトびとは川の水を飲むことをいとうであろう」』と」。
and the fish that [are] in the River die, and the River has stunk, and the Egyptians have been wearied of drinking waters from the River.”
19 主はまたモーセに言われた、「あなたはアロンに言いなさい、『あなたのつえを執って、手をエジプトの水の上、川の上、流れの上、池の上、またそのすべての水たまりの上にさし伸べて、それを血にならせなさい。エジプト全国にわたって、木の器、石の器にも、血があるようになるでしょう』と」。
And YHWH says to Moses, “Say to Aaron, Take your rod, and stretch out your hand against the waters of Egypt, against their streams, against their rivers, and against their ponds, and against all their collections of waters; and they are blood—and there has been blood in all the land of Egypt, both in [vessels of] wood, and in [those of] stone.”
20 モーセとアロンは主の命じられたようにおこなった。すなわち、彼はパロとその家来たちの目の前で、つえをあげてナイル川の水を打つと、川の水は、ことごとく血に変った。
And Moses and Aaron do so, as YHWH has commanded, and he lifts up [his hand] with the rod, and strikes the waters which [are] in the River, before the eyes of Pharaoh and before the eyes of his servants, and all the waters which [are] in the River are turned to blood,
21 それで川の魚は死に、川は臭くなり、エジプトびとは川の水を飲むことができなくなった。そしてエジプト全国にわたって血があった。
and the fish which [is] in the River has died, and the River stinks, and the Egyptians have not been able to drink water from the River; and the blood is in all the land of Egypt.
22 エジプトの魔術師らも秘術をもって同じようにおこなった。しかし、主の言われたように、パロの心はかたくなになり、彼らの言うことを聞かなかった。
And the enchanters of Egypt do so with their secrets, and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he has not listened to them, as YHWH has spoken,
23 パロは身をめぐらして家に入り、またこのことをも心に留めなかった。
and Pharaoh turns and goes into his house, and has not set his heart even to this;
24 すべてのエジプトびとはナイル川の水が飲めなかったので、飲む水を得ようと、川のまわりを掘った。
and all the Egyptians seek water all around the River to drink, for they have not been able to drink of the waters of the River.
25 主がナイル川を打たれてのち七日を経た。
And seven days are completed after YHWH’s striking the River.
