出エジプト記 23
1 あなたは偽りのうわさを言いふらしてはならない。あなたは悪人と手を携えて、悪意のある証人になってはならない。
Thou shalt not receive a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 あなたは多数に従って悪をおこなってはならない。あなたは訴訟において、多数に従って片寄り、正義を曲げるような証言をしてはならない。
Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause, to incline after many, to wrest judgment.
3 また貧しい人をその訴訟において、曲げてかばってはならない。
Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4 もし、あなたが敵の牛または、ろばの迷っているのに会う時は、必ずこれを彼の所に連れて行って、帰さなければならない。
If thou meet thy enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 もしあなたを憎む者のろばが、その荷物の下に倒れ伏しているのを見る時は、これを見捨てて置かないように気をつけ、必ずその人に手を貸して、これを起さなければならない。
If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to unload him, [thou must not do so, but] thou shalt surely unload with him.
6 あなたは貧しい者の訴訟において、裁判を曲げてはならない。
Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
7 あなたは偽り事に遠ざからなければならない。あなたは罪のない者と正しい者とを殺してはならない。わたしは悪人を義とすることはないからである。
Keep thyself far from a false speech; and him who hath been declared innocent and righteous thou shalt not slay; for I will not justify the wicked.
8 あなたは賄賂を取ってはならない。賄賂は人の目をくらまし、正しい者の事件をも曲げさせるからである。
And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blindeth the clear-sighted, and perverteth the words of the righteous.
9 あなたは寄留の他国人をしえたげてはならない。あなたがたはエジプトの国で寄留の他国人であったので、寄留の他国人の心を知っているからである。
And a stranger shalt thou not oppress; for ye know well the spirit of the stranger, seeing ye yourselves were strangers in the land of Egypt.
10 あなたは六年のあいだ、地に種をまき、その産物を取り入れることができる。
And six years shalt thou sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof;
11 しかし、七年目には、これを休ませて、耕さずに置かなければならない。そうすれば、あなたの民の貧しい者がこれを食べ、その残りは野の獣が食べることができる。あなたのぶどう畑も、オリブ畑も同様にしなければならない。
But the seventh year shalt thou let it rest and lie still; that the needy of thy people may eat [of it]; and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat: in like manner shalt thou deal with thy vineyard, and with thy olive tree.
12 あなたは六日のあいだ、仕事をし、七日目には休まなければならない。これはあなたの牛および、ろばが休みを得、またあなたのはしための子および寄留の他国人を休ませるためである。
Six days shalt thou do thy work, and on the seventh day shalt thou rest; that thy ox and thy ass may repose, and the son of thy hand-maid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
13 わたしが、あなたがたに言ったすべての事に心を留めなさい。他の神々の名を唱えてはならない。また、これをあなたのくちびるから聞えさせてはならない。
And in all things that I have said unto you be on your guard; and of the name of other gods ye shall make no mention, it shall not be heard out of thy mouth.
14 あなたは年に三度、わたしのために祭を行わなければならない。
Three times shalt thou keep a feast unto me in the year.
15 あなたは種入れぬパンの祭を守らなければならない。わたしが、あなたに命じたように、アビブの月の定めの時に七日のあいだ、種入れぬパンを食べなければならない。それはその月にあなたがエジプトから出たからである。だれも、むなし手でわたしの前に出てはならない。
The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month of Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty.
16 また、あなたが畑にまいて獲た物の勤労の初穂をささげる刈入れの祭と、あなたの勤労の実を畑から取り入れる年の終りに、取入れの祭を行わなければならない。
And the feast of harvest, of the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou hast sown in thy field: and the feast of ingathering, at the conclusion of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labors out of the field.
17 男子はみな、年に三度、主なる神の前に出なければならない。
Three times in the year shall all thy males appear before the Lord, the Eternal.
18 あなたはわたしの犠牲の血を、種を入れたパンと共にささげてはならない。また、わたしの祭の脂肪を翌朝まで残して置いてはならない。
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my festive sacrifice remain until morning.
19 あなたの土地の初穂の最も良い物を、あなたの神、主の家に携えてこなければならない。あなたは子やぎを、その母の乳で煮てはならない。
The first of the first-fruits of thy land shalt thou bring unto the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk.
20 見よ、わたしは使をあなたの前につかわし、あなたを道で守らせ、わたしが備えた所に導かせるであろう。
Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee on the way, and to bring thee unto the place which I have prepared.
21 あなたはその前に慎み、その言葉に聞き従い、彼にそむいてはならない。わたしの名が彼のうちにあるゆえに、彼はあなたがたのとがをゆるさないであろう。
Beware of him, and obey his voice, disobey him not; for he will not pardon your transgression, because my name is in him.
22 しかし、もしあなたが彼の声によく聞き従い、すべてわたしが語ることを行うならば、わたしはあなたの敵を敵とし、あなたのあだをあだとするであろう。
But if thou wilt carefully hearken to his voice, and do all that I shall speak: then will I be an enemy unto thy enemies, and afflict those that afflict thee.
23 わたしの使はあなたの前に行って、あなたをアモリびと、ヘテびと、ペリジびと、カナンびと、ヒビびと、およびエブスびとの所に導き、わたしは彼らを滅ぼすであろう。
For my angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Emorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.
24 あなたは彼らの神々を拝んではならない。これに仕えてはならない。また彼らのおこないにならってはならない。あなたは彼らを全く打ち倒し、その石の柱を打ち砕かなければならない。
Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their deeds; but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and completely break down their statuary images.
25 あなたがたの神、主に仕えなければならない。そうすれば、わたしはあなたがたのパンと水を祝し、あなたがたのうちから病を除き去るであろう。
And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will remove sickness from the midst of thee.
26 あなたの国のうちには流産する女もなく、不妊の女もなく、わたしはあなたの日の数を満ち足らせるであろう。
There shall be no one casting her children, nor a barren woman, in thy land; the number of thy days I will make full.
27 わたしはあなたの先に、わたしの恐れをつかわし、あなたが行く所の民を、ことごとく打ち敗り、すべての敵に、その背をあなたの方へ向けさせるであろう。
My terror will I send before thee, and will bring in confusion all the people to which thou shalt come; and I will make all thy enemies turn their back unto thee.
28 わたしはまた、くまばちをあなたの先につかわすであろう。これはヒビびと、カナンびと、およびヘテびとをあなたの前から追い払うであろう。
And I will send hornets before thee, and they shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.
29 しかし、わたしは彼らを一年のうちには、あなたの前から追い払わないであろう。土地が荒れすたれ、野の獣が増して、あなたを害することのないためである。
I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
30 わたしは徐々に彼らをあなたの前から追い払うであろう。あなたは、ついにふえひろがって、この地を継ぐようになるであろう。
Little by little will I drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased and canst possess the land.
31 わたしは紅海からペリシテびとの海に至るまでと、荒野からユフラテ川に至るまでを、あなたの領域とし、この地に住んでいる者をあなたの手にわたすであろう。あなたは彼らをあなたの前から追い払うであろう。
And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river; for I will deliver into your hand the inhabitants of the land, and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
32 あなたは彼ら、および彼らの神々と契約を結んではならない。
Thou shalt not make a covenant with them, nor with their gods.
33 彼らはあなたの国に住んではならない。彼らがあなたをいざなって、わたしに対して罪を犯させることのないためである。もし、あなたが彼らの神に仕えるならば、それは必ずあなたのわなとなるであろう」。
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they cause thee to sin against me; for thou mightest [be led to] serve their gods, and this would surely be a snare unto thee.
