出エジプト記 12
1 主はエジプトの国で、モーセとアロンに告げて言われた、
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt:
2 「この月をあなたがたの初めの月とし、これを年の正月としなさい。
This month shall be to you the beginning of months: it shall be the first in the months of the year.
3 あなたがたはイスラエルの全会衆に言いなさい、『この月の十日におのおの、その父の家ごとに小羊を取らなければならない。すなわち、一家族に小羊一頭を取らなければならない。
Speak ye to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, and say to them: On the tenth day of this month let every man take a lamb by their families and houses.
4 もし家族が少なくて一頭の小羊を食べきれないときは、家のすぐ隣の人と共に、人数に従って一頭を取り、おのおの食べるところに応じて、小羊を見計らわなければならない。
But if the number be less than may suffice to eat the lamb, he shall take unto him his neighbour that joineth to his house, according to the number of souls which may be enough to eat the lamb.
5 小羊は傷のないもので、一歳の雄でなければならない。羊またはやぎのうちから、これを取らなければならない。
And it shall be a lamb without blemish, a male, of one year: according to which rite also you shall take a kid.
6 そしてこの月の十四日まで、これを守って置き、イスラエルの会衆はみな、夕暮にこれをほふり、
And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month: and the whole multitude of the children of Israel shall sacrifice it in the evening.
7 その血を取り、小羊を食する家の入口の二つの柱と、かもいにそれを塗らなければならない。
And they shall take of the blood thereof, and put it upon both the side posts, and on the upper door posts of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 そしてその夜、その肉を火に焼いて食べ、種入れぬパンと苦菜を添えて食べなければならない。
And they shall eat the flesh that night roasted at the fire, and unleavened bread with wild lettuce.
9 生でも、水で煮ても、食べてはならない。火に焼いて、その頭を足と内臓と共に食べなければならない。
You shall not eat thereof any thing raw, nor boiled in water, but only roasted at the fire: you shall eat the head with the feet and entrails thereof.
10 朝までそれを残しておいてはならない。朝まで残るものは火で焼きつくさなければならない。
Neither shall there remain any thing of it until morning. If there be any thing left, you shall burn it with fire.
11 あなたがたは、こうして、それを食べなければならない。すなわち腰を引きからげ、足にくつをはき、手につえを取って、急いでそれを食べなければならない。これは主の過越である。
And thus you shall eat it: you shall gird your reins, and you shall have shoes on your feet, holding staves in your hands, and you shall eat in haste: for it is the Phase (that is the Passage) of the Lord.
12 その夜わたしはエジプトの国を巡って、エジプトの国におる人と獣との、すべてのういごを打ち、またエジプトのすべての神々に審判を行うであろう。わたしは主である。
And I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and will kill every firstborn in the land of Egypt both man and beast: and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.
13 その血はあなたがたのおる家々で、あなたがたのために、しるしとなり、わたしはその血を見て、あなたがたの所を過ぎ越すであろう。わたしがエジプトの国を撃つ時、災が臨んで、あなたがたを滅ぼすことはないであろう。
And the blood shall be unto you for a sign in the houses where you shall be: and I shall see the blood, and shall pass over you: and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I shall strike the land of Egypt.
14 この日はあなたがたに記念となり、あなたがたは主の祭としてこれを守り、代々、永久の定めとしてこれを守らなければならない。
And this day shall be for a memorial to you: and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord in your generations with an everlasting observance.
15 七日の間あなたがたは種入れぬパンを食べなければならない。その初めの日に家からパン種を取り除かなければならない。第一日から第七日までに、種を入れたパンを食べる人はみなイスラエルから断たれるであろう。
Seven days shall you eat unleavened bread: in the first day there shall be no leaven in your houses: whosoever shall eat any thing leavened, from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall perish out of Israel.
16 かつ、あなたがたは第一日に聖会を、また第七日に聖会を開かなければならない。これらの日には、なんの仕事もしてはならない。ただ、おのおのの食べものだけは作ることができる。
The first day shall be holy and solemn, and the seventh day shall be kept with the like solemnity: you shall do no work in them, except those things that belong to eating.
17 あなたがたは、種入れぬパンの祭を守らなければならない。ちょうど、この日、わたしがあなたがたの軍勢をエジプトの国から導き出したからである。それゆえ、あなたがたは代々、永久の定めとして、その日を守らなければならない。
And you shall observe the feast of the unleavened bread: for in this same day I will bring forth your army out of the land of Egypt, and you shall keep this day in your generations by a perpetual observance.
18 正月に、その月の十四日の夕方に、あなたがたは種入れぬパンを食べ、その月の二十一日の夕方まで続けなければならない。
The first month, the fourteenth day of the month in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the same month in the evening.
19 七日の間、家にパン種を置いてはならない。種を入れたものを食べる者は、寄留の他国人であれ、国に生れた者であれ、すべて、イスラエルの会衆から断たれるであろう。
Seven days there shall not be found any leaven in your houses: he that shall eat leavened bread, his soul shall perish out of the assembly of Israel, whether he be a stranger or born in the land.
20 あなたがたは種を入れたものは何も食べてはならない。すべてあなたがたのすまいにおいて種入れぬパンを食べなければならない』」。
You shall not eat any thing leavened: in all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.
21 そこでモーセはイスラエルの長老をみな呼び寄せて言った、「あなたがたは急いで家族ごとに一つの小羊を取り、その過越の獣をほふらなければならない。
And Moses called all the ancients of the children of Israel, and said to them: Go take a lamb by your families, and sacrifice the Phase.
22 また一束のヒソプを取って鉢の血に浸し、鉢の血を、かもいと入口の二つの柱につけなければならない。朝まであなたがたは、ひとりも家の戸の外に出てはならない。
And dip a bunch of hyssop in the blood that is at the door, and sprinkle the transom of the door therewith, and both the door cheeks: let none of you go out of the door of his house till morning.
23 主が行き巡ってエジプトびとを撃たれるとき、かもいと入口の二つの柱にある血を見て、主はその入口を過ぎ越し、滅ぼす者が、あなたがたの家にはいって、撃つのを許されないであろう。
For the Lord will pass through striking the Egyptians: and when he shall see the blood on the transom, and on both the posts, he will pass over the door of the house, and not suffer the destroyer to come into your houses and to hurt you.
24 あなたがたはこの事を、あなたと子孫のための定めとして、永久に守らなければならない。
Thou shalt keep this thing as a law for thee and thy children for ever.
25 あなたがたは、主が約束されたように、あなたがたに賜る地に至るとき、この儀式を守らなければならない。
And when you have entered into the land which the Lord will give you as he hath promised, you shall observe these ceremonies.
26 もし、あなたがたの子供たちが『この儀式はどんな意味ですか』と問うならば、
And when your children shall say to you: What is the meaning of this service?
27 あなたがたは言いなさい、『これは主の過越の犠牲である。エジプトびとを撃たれたとき、エジプトにいたイスラエルの人々の家を過ぎ越して、われわれの家を救われたのである』」。民はこのとき、伏して礼拝した。
You shall say to them: It is the victim of the passage of the Lord, when he passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, striking the Egyptians, and saving our houses. And the people bowing themselves, adored.
28 イスラエルの人々は行ってそのようにした。すなわち主がモーセとアロンに命じられたようにした。
And the children of Israel going forth did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.
29 夜中になって主はエジプトの国の、すべてのういご、すなわち位に座するパロのういごから、地下のひとやにおる捕虜のういごにいたるまで、また、すべての家畜のういごを撃たれた。
And it came to pass at midnight, the Lord slew every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharao, who sat on his throne, unto the firstborn of the captive woman that was in the prison, and all the firstborn of cattle.
30 それでパロとその家来およびエジプトびとはみな夜のうちに起きあがり、エジプトに大いなる叫びがあった。死人のない家がなかったからである。
And Pharao arose in the night, and all his servants, and all Egypt: for there was not a house wherein there lay not one dead.
31 そこでパロは夜のうちにモーセとアロンを呼び寄せて言った、「あなたがたとイスラエルの人々は立って、わたしの民の中から出て行くがよい。そしてあなたがたの言うように、行って主に仕えなさい。
And Pharao calling Moses and Aaron, in the night, said: Arise and go forth from among my people, you and the children of Israel: go, sacrifice to the Lord as you say.
32 あなたがたの言うように羊と牛とを取って行きなさい。また、わたしを祝福しなさい」。
Your sheep and herds take along with you, as you demanded, and departing, bless me.
33 こうしてエジプトびとは民をせき立てて、すみやかに国を去らせようとした。彼らは「われわれはみな死ぬ」と思ったからである。
And the Egyptians pressed the people to go forth out of the land speedily, saying: We shall all die.
34 民はまだパン種を入れない練り粉を、こばちのまま着物に包んで肩に負った。
The people therefore took dough before it was leavened: and tying it in their cloaks, put it on their shoulders.
35 そしてイスラエルの人々はモーセの言葉のようにして、エジプトびとから銀の飾り、金の飾り、また衣服を請い求めた。
And the children of Israel did as Moses had commanded: and they asked of the Egyptians vessels of silver and gold, and very much raiment.
36 主は民にエジプトびとの情を得させ、彼らの請い求めたものを与えさせられた。こうして彼らはエジプトびとのものを奪い取った。
And the Lord gave favour to the people in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them: and they stripped the Egyptians.
37 さて、イスラエルの人々はラメセスを出立してスコテに向かった。女と子供を除いて徒歩の男子は約六十万人であった。
And the children of Israel set forward from Ramesse to Socoth, being about six hundred thousand men on foot, beside children.
38 また多くの入り混じった群衆および羊、牛など非常に多くの家畜も彼らと共に上った。
And a mixed multitude without number went up also with them, sheep and herds and beasts of divers kinds, exceeding many.
39 そして彼らはエジプトから携えて出た練り粉をもって、種入れぬパンの菓子を焼いた。まだパン種を入れていなかったからである。それは彼らがエジプトから追い出されて滞ることができず、また、何の食料をも整えていなかったからである。
And they baked the meal, which a little before they had brought out of Egypt, in dough: and they made earth cakes unleavened: for it could not be leavened, the Egyptians pressing them to depart, and not suffering them to make any stay: neither did they think of preparing any meat.
40 イスラエルの人々がエジプトに住んでいた間は、四百三十年であった。
And the abode of the children of Israel that they made in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
41 四百三十年の終りとなって、ちょうどその日に、主の全軍はエジプトの国を出た。
Which being expired, the same day all the army of the Lord went forth out of the land of Egypt.
42 これは彼らをエジプトの国から導き出すために主が寝ずの番をされた夜であった。ゆえにこの夜、すべてのイスラエルの人々は代々、主のために寝ずの番をしなければならない。
This is the observable night of the Lord, when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: this night all the children of Israel must observe in their generations.
43 主はモーセとアロンとに言われた、「過越の祭の定めは次のとおりである。すなわち、異邦人はだれもこれを食べてはならない。
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron: This is the service of the Phase: No foreigner shall eat of it.
44 しかし、おのおのが金で買ったしもべは、これに割礼を行ってのち、これを食べさせることができる。
But every bought servant shall be circumcised, and so shall eat.
45 仮ずまいの者と、雇人とは、これを食べてはならない。
The stranger and the hireling shall not eat thereof.
46 ひとつの家でこれを食べなければならない。その肉を少しも家の外に持ち出してはならない。また、その骨を折ってはならない。
In one house shall it be eaten, neither shall you carry forth of the flesh thereof out of the house, neither shall you break a bone thereof.
47 イスラエルの全会衆はこれを守らなければならない。
All the assembly of the children of Israel shall keep it.
48 寄留の外国人があなたのもとにとどまっていて、主に過越の祭を守ろうとするときは、その男子はみな割礼を受けてのち、近づいてこれを守ることができる。そうすれば彼は国に生れた者のようになるであろう。しかし、無割礼の者はだれもこれを食べてはならない。
And if any stranger be willing to dwell among you, and to keep the Phase of the Lord, all his males shall first be circumcised, and then shall he celebrate it according to the manner: and he shall be as he that is born in the land: but if any man be uncircumcised, he shall not eat thereof.
49 この律法は国に生れたものにも、あなたがたのうちに寄留している外国人にも同一である」。
The same law shall be to him that is born in the land, and to the proselyte that sojourneth with you.
50 イスラエルの人々は、みなこのようにし、主がモーセとアロンに命じられたようにした。
And all the children of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.
51 ちょうどその日に、主はイスラエルの人々を、その軍団に従ってエジプトの国から導き出された。
And the same day the Lord brought forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their companies.
