1 アハシュエロス王はその国および海に沿った国々にみつぎを課した。

King Achashyerosh laid a tribute on the land, and on the islands of the sea.

2 彼の権力と勢力によるすべての事業、および王がモルデカイを高い地位にのぼらせた事の詳しい話はメデアとペルシャの王たちの日誌の書にしるされているではないか。

All the acts of his power and of his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3 ユダヤ人モルデカイはアハシュエロス王に次ぐ者となり、ユダヤ人の中にあって大いなる者となり、その多くの兄弟に喜ばれた。彼はその民の幸福を求め、すべての国民に平和を述べたからである。

For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Achashyerosh, and great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people, and speaking peace to all his descendants.
