申命記 33
1 神の人モーセは死ぬ前にイスラエルの人々を祝福した。祝福の言葉は次のとおりである。
This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the people of Israel before his death.
2 「主はシナイからこられ、セイルからわれわれにむかってのぼられ、パランの山から光を放たれ、ちよろずの聖者の中からこられた。その右の手には燃える火があった。
He said: Yahweh came from Sinai and rose from Seir upon them. He shined out from Mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of holy ones. In his right hand were flashes of lightning.
3 まことに主はその民を愛される。すべて主に聖別されたものは、み手のうちにある。彼らはあなたの足もとに座して、教をうける。
Indeed, he loves the peoples; all his holy ones are in your hand, and they bowed down at your feet; they received your words.
4 モーセはわれわれに律法を授けて、ヤコブの会衆の所有とさせた。
Moses commanded us a law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob.
5 民のかしらたちが集まり、イスラエルの部族がみな集まった時、主はエシュルンのうちに王となられた」。
Then there was a king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people had gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.
6 「ルベンは生きる、死にはしない。しかし、その人数は少なくなるであろう」。
Let Reuben live and not die, but may his men be few.
7 ユダについては、こう言った、「主よ、ユダの声を聞いて、彼をその民に導きかえしてください。み手をもって、彼のために戦ってください。彼を助けて、敵に当らせてください」。
This is the blessing for Judah. Moses said: Listen, Yahweh, to the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people again. Fight for him; be a help against his enemies.
8 レビについては言った、「あなたのトンミムをレビに与えてください。ウリムをあなたに仕える人に与えてください。かつてあなたはマッサで彼を試み、メリバの水のほとりで彼と争われた。
About Levi, Moses said: Your Thummim and your Urim belong your loyal one, the one whom you tested at Massah, with whom you struggled at the waters of Meribah.
9 彼はその父、その母について言った、『わたしは彼らを顧みない』。彼は自分の兄弟をも認めず、自分の子供をも顧みなかった。彼らはあなたの言葉にしたがい、あなたの契約を守ったからである。
The man who said about his father and mother, “I have not seen them.” Neither did he acknowledge his brothers, nor did he take account of his own children. For he guarded your word and kept your covenant.
10 彼らはあなたのおきてをヤコブに教え、あなたの律法をイスラエルに教え、薫香をあなたの前に供え、燔祭を祭壇の上にささげる。
He teaches Jacob your decrees and Israel your law. He will put incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar.
11 主よ、彼の力を祝福し、彼の手のわざを喜び受けてください。彼に逆らう者と、彼を憎む者との腰を打ち砕いて、立ち上がることのできないようにしてください」。
Bless, Yahweh, his possessions, and accept the work of his hands. Shatter the loins of those who rise up against him, and those of the people who hate him, so that they do not rise up again.
12 ベニヤミンについては言った、「主に愛される者、彼は安らかに主のそばにおり、主は終日、彼を守り、その肩の間にすまいを営まれるであろう」。
About Benjamin, Moses said: The one loved by Yahweh lives in security beside him; Yahweh shields him all the day long, and he lives between Yahweh's arms.
13 ヨセフについては言った、「どうぞ主が彼の地を祝福されるように。上なる天の賜物と露、下に横たわる淵の賜物、
About Joseph, Moses said: May his land be blessed by Yahweh with the precious things of heaven, with the dew, and with the deep that lies beneath.
14 日によって産する尊い賜物、月によって生ずる尊い賜物、
May his land be blessed with the precious things of the harvest of the sun, with the precious things of the produce of the months,
15 いにしえの山々の産する賜物、とこしえの丘の尊い賜物、
with the finest things of the ancient mountains, and with the precious things of the everlasting hills.
16 地とそれに満ちる尊い賜物、しばの中におられた者の恵みが、ヨセフの頭に臨み、その兄弟たちの君たる者の頭の頂にくだるように。
May his land be blessed with the precious things of the earth and its abundance, and with the good will of him who was in the bush. Let the blessing come on the head of Joseph, and on the top of the head of him who was prince over his brothers.
17 彼の牛のういごは威厳があり、その角は野牛の角のよう、これをもって国々の民をことごとく突き倒し、地のはてにまで及ぶ。このような者はエフライムに幾万とあり、またこのような者はマナセに幾千とある」。
The firstborn of an ox, majestic is he, and his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will push the peoples, all of them, to the ends of the earth. These are the ten thousands of Ephraim; these are the thousands of Manasseh.
18 ゼブルンについては言った、「ゼブルンよ、あなたは外に出て楽しみを得よ。イッサカルよ、あなたは天幕にいて楽しみを得よ。
About Zebulun, Moses said: Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and you, Issachar, in your tents.
19 彼らは国々の民を山に招き、その所で正しい犠牲をささげるであろう。彼らは海の富を吸い、砂に隠れた宝を取るからである」。
They will call the peoples to the mountains. There will they offer sacrifices of righteousness. For they will suck the abundance of the seas, and from the sand on the seashore.
20 ガドについては言った、「ガドを大きくする者は、ほむべきかな。ガドは、ししのように伏し、腕や頭の頂をかき裂くであろう。
About Gad, Moses said: Blessed be he who enlarges Gad. He will live there like a lioness, and he will tear off an arm or a head.
21 彼は初穂の地を自分のために選んだ。そこには将軍の分も取り置かれていた。彼は民のかしらたちと共にきて、イスラエルと共に主の正義と審判とを行った」。
He provided the best part for himself, for there was the leader's portion of land reserved. He came with the heads of the people. He carried out the justice of Yahweh and his decrees with Israel.
22 ダンについては言った、「ダンはししの子であって、バシャンからおどりでる」。
About Dan, Moses said: Dan is a lion cub that leaps out from Bashan.
23 ナフタリについては言った、「ナフタリよ、あなたは恵みに満たされ、主の祝福に満ちて、湖とその南の地を所有する」。
About Naphtali, Moses said: Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and full of the blessing of Yahweh, take possession of the land to the west and south.
24 アセルについては言った、「アセルは他の子らにまさって祝福される。彼はその兄弟たちに愛せられ、その足を油にひたすことができるように。
About Asher, Moses said: Blessed be Asher more than the other sons; let him be acceptable to his brothers, and let him dip his foot in olive oil.
25 あなたの貫の木は鉄と青銅、あなたの力はあなたの年と共に続くであろう」。
May your city bars be iron and bronze; as long as will be your days, so long will your security be.
26 「エシュルンよ、神に並ぶ者はほかにない。あなたを助けるために天に乗り、威光をもって空を通られる。
There is no one like God, Jeshurun—the upright one, who rides through the heavens to your help, and in his majesty on the clouds.
27 とこしえにいます神はあなたのすみかであり、下には永遠の腕がある。敵をあなたの前から追い払って、『滅ぼせ』と言われた。
The eternal God is a refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He thrust out the enemy from before you, and he said, “Destroy!”
28 イスラエルは安らかに住み、ヤコブの泉は穀物とぶどう酒の地に、ひとりいるであろう。また天は露をくだすであろう。
Israel dwelt in safety. Jacob's spring was secure in a land of grain and new wine; indeed, let his heavens drop dew on him.
29 イスラエルよ、あなたはしあわせである。だれがあなたのように、主に救われた民があるであろうか。主はあなたを助ける盾、あなたの威光のつるぎ、あなたの敵はあなたにへつらい服し、あなたは彼らの高き所を踏み進むであろう」。
Your blessings are many, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by Yahweh, the shield of your help, and the sword of your majesty? Your enemies will come trembling to you; you will trample down their high places.
