申命記 30
1 わたしがあなたがたの前に述べたこのもろもろの祝福と、のろいの事があなたに臨み、あなたがあなたの神、主に追いやられたもろもろの国民のなかでこの事を心に考えて、
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations, where the LORD your God has driven you,
2 あなたもあなたの子供も共にあなたの神、主に立ち帰り、わたしが、きょう、命じるすべてのことにおいて、心をつくし、精神をつくして、主の声に聞き従うならば、
And shall return unto the LORD your God, and shall obey his voice according to all that I command you this day, you and your children, with all of your heart, and with all your soul;
3 あなたの神、主はあなたを再び栄えさせ、あなたをあわれみ、あなたの神、主はあなたを散らされた国々から再び集められるであろう。
That then the LORD your God will turn your captivity, and have compassion upon you, and will return and gather you from all the nations, where the LORD your God has scattered you.
4 たといあなたが天のはてに追いやられても、あなたの神、主はそこからあなたを集め、そこからあなたを連れ帰られるであろう。
If any of your be driven out unto the utmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD your God gather you, and from thence will he fetch you:
5 あなたの神、主はあなたの先祖が所有した地にあなたを帰らせ、あなたはそれを所有するに至るであろう。主はまたあなたを栄えさせ、数を増して先祖たちよりも多くされるであろう。
And the LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and he will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers.
6 そしてあなたの神、主はあなたの心とあなたの子孫の心に割礼を施し、あなたをして、心をつくし、精神をつくしてあなたの神、主を愛させ、こうしてあなたに命を得させられるであろう。
And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love the LORD your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live.
7 あなたの神、主はまた、あなたを迫害する敵と、あなたを憎む者とに、このもろもろののろいをこうむらせられるであろう。
And the LORD your God will put all these curses upon your enemies, and on them that hate you, which persecuted you.
8 しかし、あなたは再び主の声に聞き従い、わたしが、きょう、あなたに命じるすべての戒めを守るであろう。
And you shall return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command you this day.
9 そうすればあなたの神、主はあなたのするすべてのことと、あなたの身から生れる者と、家畜の産むものと、地に産する物を豊かに与えて、あなたを栄えさせられるであろう。すなわち主はあなたの先祖たちを喜ばれたように再びあなたを喜んで、あなたを栄えさせられるであろう。
And the LORD your God will make you abundant in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers:
10 これはあなたが、あなたの神、主の声に聞きしたがい、この律法の書にしるされた戒めと定めとを守り、心をつくし、精神をつくしてあなたの神、主に帰するからである。
If you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if you turn unto the LORD your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul.
11 わたしが、きょう、あなたに命じるこの戒めは、むずかしいものではなく、また遠いものでもない。
For this commandment which I command you this day, it is not hidden from you, neither is it far off.
12 これは天にあるのではないから、『だれがわれわれのために天に上り、それをわれわれのところへ持ってきて、われわれに聞かせ、行わせるであろうか』と言うに及ばない。
It is not in heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13 またこれは海のかなたにあるのではないから、『だれがわれわれのために海を渡って行き、それをわれわれのところへ携えてきて、われわれに聞かせ、行わせるであろうか』と言うに及ばない。
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14 この言葉はあなたに、はなはだ近くあってあなたの口にあり、またあなたの心にあるから、あなたはこれを行うことができる。
But the word is very nigh unto you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it.
15 見よ、わたしは、きょう、命とさいわい、および死と災をあなたの前に置いた。
See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 すなわちわたしは、きょう、あなたにあなたの神、主を愛し、その道に歩み、その戒めと定めと、おきてとを守ることを命じる。それに従うならば、あなたは生きながらえ、その数は多くなるであろう。またあなたの神、主はあなたが行って取る地であなたを祝福されるであろう。
In that I command you this day to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply: and the LORD your God shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it.
17 しかし、もしあなたが心をそむけて聞き従わず、誘われて他の神々を拝み、それに仕えるならば、
But if your heart turn away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 わたしは、きょう、あなたがたに告げる。あなたがたは必ず滅びるであろう。あなたがたはヨルダンを渡り、はいって行って取る地でながく命を保つことができないであろう。
I denounce unto you this day, that all of you shall surely perish, and that all of you shall not prolong your days upon the land, where you pass over Jordan to go to possess it.
19 わたしは、きょう、天と地を呼んであなたがたに対する証人とする。わたしは命と死および祝福とのろいをあなたの前に置いた。あなたは命を選ばなければならない。そうすればあなたとあなたの子孫は生きながらえることができるであろう。
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live:
20 すなわちあなたの神、主を愛して、その声を聞き、主につき従わなければならない。そうすればあなたは命を得、かつ長く命を保つことができ、主が先祖アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブに与えると誓われた地に住むことができるであろう」。
That you may love the LORD your God, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may cleave unto him: for he is your life, and the length of your days: that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
