ダニエル書 9
1 メデアびとアハシュエロスの子ダリヨスが、カルデヤびとの王となったその元年、
Darius was the son of Ahasuerus, a descendant of the Medes. It was Ahasuerus who had been made king over the realm of the Babylonians.
2 すなわちその治世の第一年に、われダニエルは主が預言者エレミヤに臨んで告げられたその言葉により、エルサレムの荒廃の終るまでに経ねばならぬ年の数は七十年であることを、文書によって悟った。
Now in the first year of Darius' reign I, Daniel, was studying the books containing Yahweh's word, the word that had come to Jeremiah the prophet. I observed that there would be seventy years until Jerusalem's abandonment would end.
3 それでわたしは、わが顔を主なる神に向け、断食をなし、荒布を着、灰をかぶって祈り、かつ願い求めた。
I turned my face to the Lord God, to seek him with prayer and requests, with fasting, wearing sackcloth, and sitting in ashes.
4 すなわちわたしは、わが神、主に祈り、ざんげして言った、「ああ、大いなる恐るべき神、主、おのれを愛し、おのれの戒めを守る者のために契約を保ち、いつくしみを施される者よ、
I prayed to Yahweh my God, and I made confession of our sins. I said, “Please, Lord—you are the great and awesome God—you are the one who keeps the covenant and is faithful to love those who love you and keep your commandments.
5 われわれは罪を犯し、悪をおこない、よこしまなふるまいをなし、そむいて、あなたの戒めと、おきてを離れました。
We have sinned and have done what is wrong. We have acted wickedly and we have rebelled, turning aside from your commands and decrees.
6 われわれはまた、あなたのしもべなる預言者たちが、あなたの名をもって、われわれの王たち、君たち、先祖たち、および国のすべての民に告げた言葉に聞き従いませんでした。
We have not listened to your servants the prophets who spoke in your name to our kings, our leaders, our ancestors, and to all the people of the land.
7 主よ、正義はあなたのものですが、恥はわれわれに加えられて、今日のような有様です。すなわちユダの人々、エルサレムの住民および全イスラエルの者は、近き者も、遠き者もみな、あなたが追いやられたすべての国々で恥をこうむりました。これは彼らがあなたにそむいて犯した罪によるのです。
To you, Lord, belongs righteousness. To us today, however, belongs shame on our faces—for the people of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem, and to all Israel. This includes those who are near and those who are far away in all the lands where you scattered them. This is because of the great treachery that we committed against you.
8 主よ、恥はわれわれのもの、われわれの王たち、君たちおよび先祖たちのものです。これはわれわれがあなたにむかって罪を犯したからです。
To us, Yahweh, belongs shame on our faces—to our kings, to our leaders, and to our ancestors—because we have sinned against you.
9 あわれみと、ゆるしはわれわれの神、主のものです。これはわれわれが彼にそむいたからです。
To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him.
10 またわれわれの神、主のみ声に聞き従わず、主がそのしもべ預言者たちによって、われわれの前に賜わった律法を行わなかったからです。
We have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh our God by walking in his laws he gave us through his servants the prophets.
11 まことにイスラエルの人々は皆あなたの律法を犯し、離れ去って、あなたのみ声に聞き従わなかったので、神のしもべモーセの律法にしるされたのろいと誓いが、われわれの上に注ぎかかりました。これはわれわれが神にむかって罪を犯したからです。
All Israel has transgressed your law and turned aside, refusing to obey your voice. The curse and oath that are written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, for we have sinned against him.
12 すなわち神は大いなる災をわれわれの上にくだして、さきにわれわれと、われわれを治めたつかさたちにむかって告げられた言葉を実行されたのです。あのエルサレムに臨んだような事は、全天下にいまだかつてなかった事です。
Yahweh has confirmed the words that he spoke against us and against our rulers over us, by bringing on us a great disaster. For under the whole of heaven there has not been done anything that could compare with what has been done to Jerusalem.
13 モーセの律法にしるされたように、この災はすべてわれわれに臨みましたが、なおわれわれの神、主の恵みを請い求めることをせず、その不義を離れて、あなたの真理を悟ることをもしませんでした。
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not begged for mercy from Yahweh our God by turning away from our iniquities and paying attention to your truth.
14 それゆえ、主はこれを心に留めて、災をわれわれに下されたのです。われわれの神、主は、何事をされるにも、正しくあらせられます。ところが、われわれはそのみ声に聞き従わなかったのです。
Therefore Yahweh has kept the disaster ready and has brought it on us, for Yahweh our God is righteous in all the deeds he does, yet we have not obeyed his voice.
15 われわれの神、主よ、あなたは強きみ手をもって、あなたの民をエジプトの地から導き出して、今日のように、み名をあげられました。われわれは罪を犯し、よこしまなふるまいをしました。
Now, Lord our God, you brought out your people from the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and you have made a famous name for yourself, as in this present day. But still we sinned; we have done wicked things.
16 主よ、どうぞあなたが、これまで正しいみわざをなされたように、あなたの町エルサレム、あなたの聖なる山から、あなたの怒りと憤りとを取り去ってください。これはわれわれの罪と、われわれの先祖の不義のために、エルサレムと、あなたの民が、われわれの周囲の者の物笑いとなったからです。
Lord, because of all your righteous deeds, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain. Because of our sins, and because of the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people have become an object of scorn to all those around us.
17 それゆえ、われわれの神よ、しもべの祈と願いを聞いてください。主よ、あなたご自身のために、あの荒れたあなたの聖所に、あなたのみ顔を輝かせてください。
Now, our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy; for your sake, Lord, make your face shine on your sanctuary that is desolate.
18 わが神よ、耳を傾けて聞いてください。目を開いて、われわれの荒れたさまを見、み名をもってとなえられる町をごらんください。われわれがあなたの前に祈をささげるのは、われわれの義によるのではなく、ただあなたの大いなるあわれみによるのです。
My God, open your ears and listen; open your eyes and see. We have been devastated; look at the city that is called by your name. We do not beg for your help because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.
19 主よ、聞いてください。主よ、ゆるしてください。主よ、み心に留めて、おこなってください。わが神よ、あなたご自身のために、これを延ばさないでください。あなたの町と、あなたの民は、み名をもってとなえられているからです」。
Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, pay attention and take action! For your own sake, do not delay, my God, for your city and your people are called by your name.”
20 わたしがこう言って祈り、かつわが罪とわが民イスラエルの罪をざんげし、わが神の聖なる山のために、わが神、主の前に願いをしていたとき、
While I was speaking—praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my requests before Yahweh my God on behalf of God's holy mountain—
21 すなわちわたしが祈の言葉を述べていたとき、わたしが初めに幻のうちに見た、かの人ガブリエルは、すみやかに飛んできて、夕の供え物をささげるころ、わたしに近づき、
while I was praying, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, flew down to me in rapid flight, at the time of the evening sacrifice.
22 わたしに告げて言った、「ダニエルよ、わたしは今あなたに、知恵と悟りを与えるためにきました。
He gave me understanding and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come out to give you insight and understanding.
23 あなたが祈を始めたとき、み言葉が出たので、それをあなたに告げるためにきたのです。あなたは大いに愛せられている者です。ゆえに、このみ言葉を考えて、この幻を悟りなさい。
When you began pleading for mercy, the order was given and I have come to tell you the answer, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider this word and understand the revelation.
24 あなたの民と、あなたの聖なる町については、七十週が定められています。これはとがを終らせ、罪に終りを告げ、不義をあがない、永遠の義をもたらし、幻と預言者を封じ、いと聖なる者に油を注ぐためです。
Seventy sevens are decreed for your people and your holy city to end the guilt and put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring everlasting righteousness, to carry out the vision and the prophecy, and to consecrate the most holy place.
25 それゆえ、エルサレムを建て直せという命令が出てから、メシヤなるひとりの君が来るまで、七週と六十二週あることを知り、かつ悟りなさい。その間に、しかも不安な時代に、エルサレムは広場と街路とをもって、建て直されるでしょう。
Know and understand that from the issuing of the order to restore and rebuild Jerusalem to the coming of the anointed one (who will be a leader), there will be seven sevens and sixty-two sevens. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and a moat, despite the times of distress.
26 その六十二週の後にメシヤは断たれるでしょう。ただし自分のためにではありません。またきたるべき君の民は、町と聖所とを滅ぼすでしょう。その終りは洪水のように臨むでしょう。そしてその終りまで戦争が続き、荒廃は定められています。
After the sixty-two sevens, the anointed one will be destroyed and will have nothing. The army of a coming ruler will destroy the city and the holy place. Its end will come with a flood, and there will be war even to the end. Desolations have been decreed.
27 彼は一週の間多くの者と、堅く契約を結ぶでしょう。そして彼はその週の半ばに、犠牲と供え物とを廃するでしょう。また荒す者が憎むべき者の翼に乗って来るでしょう。こうしてついにその定まった終りが、その荒す者の上に注がれるのです」。
He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven. In the middle of the seven he will put an end to the sacrifice and the offering. On the wing of abominations will come someone who makes desolate. A full end and destruction are decreed to be poured out on the one who has made the desolation.”
