コロサイ人への手紙 2
1 わたしが、あなたがたとラオデキヤにいる人たちのため、また、直接にはまだ会ったことのない人々のために、どんなに苦闘しているか、わかってもらいたい。
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and [for] them at Laodicea, and [for] as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 それは彼らが、心を励まされ、愛によって結び合わされ、豊かな理解力を十分に与えられ、神の奥義なるキリストを知るに至るためである。
That their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 キリストのうちには、知恵と知識との宝が、いっさい隠されている。
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 わたしがこう言うのは、あなたがたが、だれにも巧みな言葉で迷わされることのないためである。
And this I say, lest any man should deceive you with enticing words.
5 たとい、わたしは肉体においては離れていても、霊においてはあなたがたと一緒にいて、あなたがたの秩序正しい様子とキリストに対するあなたがたの強固な信仰とを見て、喜んでいる。
For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 このように、あなたがたは主キリスト・イエスを受けいれたのだから、彼にあって歩きなさい。
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk ye in him:
7 また、彼に根ざし、彼にあって建てられ、そして教えられたように、信仰が確立されて、あふれるばかり感謝しなさい。
Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 あなたがたは、むなしいだましごとの哲学で、人のとりこにされないように、気をつけなさい。それはキリストに従わず、世のもろもろの霊力に従う人間の言伝えに基くものにすぎない。
Beware lest any man make a prey of you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 キリストにこそ、満ちみちているいっさいの神の徳が、かたちをとって宿っており、
For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
10 そしてあなたがたは、キリストにあって、それに満たされているのである。彼はすべての支配と権威とのかしらであり、
And ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power:
11 あなたがたはまた、彼にあって、手によらない割礼、すなわち、キリストの割礼を受けて、肉のからだを脱ぎ捨てたのである。
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 あなたがたはバプテスマを受けて彼と共に葬られ、同時に、彼を死人の中からよみがえらせた神の力を信じる信仰によって、彼と共によみがえらされたのである。
Buried with him in baptism, in which also ye are raised with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 あなたがたは、先には罪の中にあり、かつ肉の割礼がないままで死んでいた者であるが、神は、あなたがたをキリストと共に生かし、わたしたちのいっさいの罪をゆるして下さった。
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he made alive together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 神は、わたしたちを責めて不利におとしいれる証書を、その規定もろともぬり消し、これを取り除いて、十字架につけてしまわれた。
Blotting out the hand-writing of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 そして、もろもろの支配と権威との武装を解除し、キリストにあって凱旋し、彼らをその行列に加えて、さらしものとされたのである。
[And] having despoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 だから、あなたがたは、食物と飲み物とにつき、あるいは祭や新月や安息日などについて、だれにも批評されてはならない。
Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of a holy-day, or or the new-moon, or of the sabbaths:
17 これらは、きたるべきものの影であって、その本体はキリストにある。
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.
18 あなたがたは、わざとらしい謙そんと天使礼拝とにおぼれている人々から、いろいろと悪評されてはならない。彼らは幻を見たことを重んじ、肉の思いによっていたずらに誇るだけで、
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 キリストなるかしらに、しっかりと着くことをしない。このかしらから出て、からだ全体は、節と節、筋と筋とによって強められ結び合わされ、神に育てられて成長していくのである。
And not holding the head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 もしあなたがたが、キリストと共に死んで世のもろもろの霊力から離れたのなら、なぜ、なおこの世に生きているもののように、
Wherefore, if ye are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 「さわるな、味わうな、触れるな」などという規定に縛られているのか。
(Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 これらは皆、使えば尽きてしまうもの、人間の規定や教によっているものである。
Which all are to perish with the using; ) according to the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 これらのことは、ひとりよがりの礼拝とわざとらしい謙そんと、からだの苦行とをともなうので、知恵のあるしわざらしく見えるが、実は、ほしいままな肉欲を防ぐのに、なんの役にも立つものではない。
Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
