コリント人への手紙第二 5
For we have known that if the tent of our earthly house may be thrown down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands—perpetual—in the heavens, (aiōnios g166)
2 そして、天から賜わるそのすみかを、上に着ようと切に望みながら、この幕屋の中で苦しみもだえている。
for also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves with our dwelling that is from Heaven,
3 それを着たなら、裸のままではいないことになろう。
if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we will not be found naked,
4 この幕屋の中にいるわたしたちは、重荷を負って苦しみもだえている。それを脱ごうと願うからではなく、その上に着ようと願うからであり、それによって、死ぬべきものがいのちにのまれてしまうためである。
for we also who are in the tent groan, being burdened, seeing we do not wish to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of life.
5 わたしたちを、この事にかなう者にして下さったのは、神である。そして、神はその保証として御霊をわたしたちに賜わったのである。
And He who worked us to this very thing [is] God, who also gave to us the deposit of the Spirit;
6 だから、わたしたちはいつも心強い。そして、肉体を宿としている間は主から離れていることを、よく知っている。
having courage, then, at all times, and knowing that being at home in the body, we are away from home from the LORD—
7 わたしたちは、見えるものによらないで、信仰によって歩いているのである。
for we walk through faith, not through sight—
8 それで、わたしたちは心強い。そして、むしろ肉体から離れて主と共に住むことが、願わしいと思っている。
we have courage, and are well pleased, rather, to be away from the home of the body, and to be at home with the LORD.
9 そういうわけだから、肉体を宿としているにしても、それから離れているにしても、ただ主に喜ばれる者となるのが、心からの願いである。
We are also ambitious for this reason, whether at home or away from home, to be well pleasing to Him,
10 なぜなら、わたしたちは皆、キリストのさばきの座の前にあらわれ、善であれ悪であれ、自分の行ったことに応じて、それぞれ報いを受けねばならないからである。
for it is necessary for all of us to have appeared before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may receive the things [done] through the body, in reference to the things that he did, whether good or evil;
11 このようにわたしたちは、主の恐るべきことを知っているので、人々に説き勧める。わたしたちのことは、神のみまえには明らかになっている。さらに、あなたがたの良心にも明らかになるようにと望む。
having known, therefore, the fear of the LORD, we persuade men, and we are revealed to God, and I also hope to have been revealed in your consciences;
12 わたしたちは、あなたがたに対して、またもや自己推薦をしようとするのではない。ただわたしたちを誇る機会を、あなたがたに持たせ、心を誇るのではなくうわべだけを誇る人々に答えうるようにさせたいのである。
for we do not again recommend ourselves to you, but we are giving occasion to you of glorifying in our behalf, that you may have [something] in reference to those glorifying in face and not in heart;
13 もしわたしたちが、気が狂っているのなら、それは神のためであり、気が確かであるのなら、それはあなたがたのためである。
for whether we were beside ourselves, [it was] to God; whether we be of sound mind, [it is] to you,
14 なぜなら、キリストの愛がわたしたちに強く迫っているからである。わたしたちはこう考えている。ひとりの人がすべての人のために死んだ以上、すべての人が死んだのである。
for the love of the Christ constrains us, having judged thus: that if one died for all, then the whole died,
15 そして、彼がすべての人のために死んだのは、生きている者がもはや自分のためにではなく、自分のために死んでよみがえったかたのために、生きるためである。
and He died for all, that those living may no longer live to themselves, but to Him who died for them, and was raised again.
16 それだから、わたしたちは今後、だれをも肉によって知ることはすまい。かつてはキリストを肉によって知っていたとしても、今はもうそのような知り方をすまい。
So that we, from now on, have known no one according to the flesh, and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him [thus] no longer;
17 だれでもキリストにあるならば、その人は新しく造られた者である。古いものは過ぎ去った、見よ、すべてが新しくなったのである。
so that if anyone [is] in Christ—[he is] a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, all things have become new.
18 しかし、すべてこれらの事は、神から出ている。神はキリストによって、わたしたちをご自分に和解させ、かつ和解の務をわたしたちに授けて下さった。
And all things [are] of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of the reconciliation,
19 すなわち、神はキリストにおいて世をご自分に和解させ、その罪過の責任をこれに負わせることをしないで、わたしたちに和解の福音をゆだねられたのである。
how that God was in Christ—reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation,
20 神がわたしたちをとおして勧めをなさるのであるから、わたしたちはキリストの使者なのである。そこで、キリストに代って願う、神の和解を受けなさい。
in behalf of Christ, then, we are ambassadors, as if God were calling through us, we implore, in behalf of Christ, “Be reconciled to God”;
21 神はわたしたちの罪のために、罪を知らないかたを罪とされた。それは、わたしたちが、彼にあって神の義となるためなのである。
He made Him having not known sin [to be] sin in our behalf, that we may become the righteousness of God in Him.
