コリント人への手紙第一 2

1 兄弟たちよ。わたしもまた、あなたがたの所に行ったとき、神のあかしを宣べ伝えるのに、すぐれた言葉や知恵を用いなかった。

When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

2 なぜなら、わたしはイエス・キリスト、しかも十字架につけられたキリスト以外のことは、あなたがたの間では何も知るまいと、決心したからである。

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

3 わたしがあなたがたの所に行った時には、弱くかつ恐れ、ひどく不安であった。

I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

4 そして、わたしの言葉もわたしの宣教も、巧みな知恵の言葉によらないで、霊と力との証明によったのである。

My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

5 それは、あなたがたの信仰が人の知恵によらないで、神の力によるものとなるためであった。

that your faith would not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 しかしわたしたちは、円熟している者の間では、知恵を語る。この知恵は、この世の者の知恵ではなく、この世の滅び行く支配者たちの知恵でもない。 (aiōn g165)

We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this age (aiōn g165) nor of the rulers of this age (aiōn g165) who are coming to nothing.

7 むしろ、わたしたちが語るのは、隠された奥義としての神の知恵である。それは神が、わたしたちの受ける栄光のために、世の始まらぬ先から、あらかじめ定めておかれたものである。 (aiōn g165)

But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the ages (aiōn g165) for our glory,

8 この世の支配者たちのうちで、この知恵を知っていた者は、ひとりもいなかった。もし知っていたなら、栄光の主を十字架につけはしなかったであろう。 (aiōn g165)

which none of the rulers of this age (aiōn g165) has known. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9 しかし、聖書に書いてあるとおり、「目がまだ見ず、耳がまだ聞かず、人の心に思い浮びもしなかったことを、神は、ご自分を愛する者たちのために備えられた」のである。

But as it is written, “Things which an eye did not see, and an ear did not hear, which did not enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”

10 そして、それを神は、御霊によってわたしたちに啓示して下さったのである。御霊はすべてのものをきわめ、神の深みまでもきわめるのだからである。

But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

11 いったい、人間の思いは、その内にある人間の霊以外に、だれが知っていようか。それと同じように神の思いも、神の御霊以外には、知るものはない。

For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit.

12 ところが、わたしたちが受けたのは、この世の霊ではなく、神からの霊である。それによって、神から賜わった恵みを悟るためである。

But we received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

13 この賜物について語るにも、わたしたちは人間の知恵が教える言葉を用いないで、御霊の教える言葉を用い、霊によって霊のことを解釈するのである。

We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

14 生れながらの人は、神の御霊の賜物を受けいれない。それは彼には愚かなものだからである。また、御霊によって判断されるべきであるから、彼はそれを理解することができない。

Now the natural man does not receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 しかし、霊の人は、すべてのものを判断するが、自分自身はだれからも判断されることはない。

But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is to be judged by no one.

16 「だれが主の思いを知って、彼を教えることができようか」。しかし、わたしたちはキリストの思いを持っている。

“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he should instruct him?” But we have Christ’s mind.
